- Follow us on this scenic drive through the pictures Valle Maggia and Val Sambuco to the 2,310 meters high Lago del Narèt in the Canton Ticino, Switzerland. This drive starts in Locarno and follows the Maggia river all the way up to the Sambuco dam. 2 hours of watching this overwhelming video convinced me in the end, our world is very overpopulated. Great distances without any houses or villages, yes truly overpopulated. Nein, das glaub ich dir. schon garnicht für AUDI A5. Darum vorne an der Imbißbude stehen lassen und mit Rad weiter, notfalls schieben, soweit wie man kommt

Double WOW! To think they had to bring all the materials for these dams up this road. Considering Airolo is only about 5 km away a road up the other side of the mountain may have been a better deal. At least they had divine help from all the shrines on the road side. Unimog's seem to be the vehicle of choice for the winter services. A road best suited to a convoy system of operation.
It was for sure a mammoth undertaking to built that dam at this location. Happy New Year Brian!

Great and varied drive, from The Mediterranean feeling in Locarno to the high mountains. The road also has just little traffic, being a dead-end road, must have been great to drive there. Thanks for sharing the video, greetings from a roadtripper from Germany!
