    Hey, I also do animation, and I use the second technique (I call the tool the wand tool). But I do it a bit differently so those gaps aren’t there.
    I use the wand tool on the outside of the character, and then I invert it.

    Thanks for the video! If you color one frame with colorized mask, does it color all the frames...? Maybe that would Be too easy 😊

      Seems to me that would be the only point. Most often I can just use the paint bucket on a layer under my line work and set it to grow area by 2px or so.
      Then I clean up any places it missed with a brush. Once I do that I can use a quick clipping group to do rim lighting and shadows.
      What krita really needs is an inner shadow that can be moved around and set to all frames for that layer. In after effects you can do this and get pretty good shadows and rim lighting for all of your frames. And then key frame the position. Unfortunately the layer style inner shadow for krita cannot be moved as far as I can tell and also goes all the way around the object on the layer.

      @@berizzle Another way is to push the threshold option up so it selects the half tones.

    will works if your lineart is not close???? or needs to be close??
