If you are importing an image file you can only use it as a trace or animation over top of it. You won't be able to animate the picture itself.

Try using more in betweens(the more inbetweens you add,the slower the animation becomes)or lower your fps

Lower canvas size may help. How many gbs of ram do you have in total? I have 16gb in total and dedicate around 12-13gb(isn't a good idea if you have many things running at once, just make sure to not dedicate all of it) and it can still struggle in bigger projects with lots of transform masks. Once you're 100% sure you're done with a transform mask, save a copy just incase, and then "flatten layer". It can help decrease the ram usage although it wont be a giant difference. If you have a complicated project that's over 10 seconds it may be benefitional to split your animation up into parts and work on them separately. Also make sure you have a majority of background apps closed. As an example, If you use chrome its known to take up a lot of ram when you have multiple tabs open.

@@silent_dators never tried opentunz, but my advice is, you can create amazing animation with any software you just need to put in the time and dedication. Before all this fancy software, animators were just using paper and pencil. We are fortunate that it's easier for us now but still some people find it hard because it takes a lot of time and effort.

@@Henrysenedo488 you can only move the background around the canvas, hold shift and expand your background to make a zoom effect. Do the same when shrinking the background and you will create a zoom out effect.
