Coco Peru is the reason I didn’t commit suicide as a high schooler, her youtube channel was my lifeline in senior year I sat in the empty art wing hallway everyday at lunch watching her shop at the convience store and it showed me what happiness would be like, she is an angel

You can't forget that she was in Too Wong Foo! That dressing room scene was iconic. It was the first time that I saw that environment. For me, that's what makes her legendary and iconic! She is an actress and that's why her scenes were so good, no matter the length. She along with that movie, TOO WONG FOO, INSPIRED ME!
Agreed, loved Coco in To Wong Foo, the aforementioned Trick toilet scene and the Will & Grace Thanksgiving phone conference scene were fab, but... with Varla and Losesy... Jack Plotnick in "Girls will be Girls" did it for me, iconic!

Ohh, if I may add (ranting 'bout their legacy), just coincidentally rewatched Straight Jacket, a campy Doris Day-like screwball comedy from '04, starring Miss Coco and Jake Plotnick mixed with Modern Family, Person of Interest and Little Shop of Horrors about a butch Joan Crawford-y agent trying to keep "Rock Hudson" from bunking Hunks in 50s Lollyhood... The pathos, the drama, like a gayer Archer, funny, and with a great cast, soundtrack and message, high(^^)-ly recommended;o)
(Also, if you're into queer cinema, send some love to James Somerton. They're deserving but struggeling...)
If they let drag queens play the main characters the movie would have been iconic. Instead they had straight actors play drag queens who for some reason are in drag 24/7. The movie was Hollywood safe and it's sad that real drag queens didn't get more spotlight.
I’m so glad that Coco mentions the Act Up movements… it brought back memories of fellow gays telling you stop being political to me it was like they are saying I’m willing to sit back and be persecuted or eventually obliterated. Hit the streets like we used to do.
I remember the advent of HIV/Aids as a gay college sophomore in NYC. SILENCE = Death was ACTUP’s saying, impetus & logo. You were forced to adopt a stance then and attend Marches on Washington, etc. Even with all that it took them almost 30 years to develop PrEP for HIV and less than a year for THREE vaccines for covid… US priorities.

I absolutely love how Delta does not speak over the guests or cut them off. Whenever Delta and a guest begins speaking at the same time Delta lets them keep speaking while she stays silent. And, she does not cut a guest off mid-sentence. Those is manners! ALL guest show hosts should learn this behavior; especially, modern guest shows. Thank you, Delta! 😁

The first time I met CoCo I asked her if she only had one wig or several of the same kind. This was around the time they were filming Girls Will Be Girls and I talked myself into being an extra in the pool scene. She is such a quick wit and I really cherish the years I was hanging out with people like her.

I adore Coco Peru and her wisdom. It really is true too; once you can accept and embrace the aspects of yourself you've previously been ridiculed, bullied and shamed for growing up, it really is life changing.

Mrs. Peru is truly the first drag queen I remember 'knowing' was in drag, and I will always remember that first video of her roaming a supermarket for Panettone. Her comedy is so subtle and I still to this day have her voice in my head with Delta when I'm about to go off about something petty. Coco, you are a beacon of light for so many of us- even the younger generations!

The not bringing people into the dressing room is great advice. A dancer friend of mine took me back stage to chat to him while he was getting changed. And I really felt like I should not have been there. Not that people were not friendly. But I felt like I was intruding, on like you said a safe space. Back stage at a show is an incredibly emotional charged space. What you said makes complete sense. Also wanted to say Delta we love when you come to Columbus Ohio. You are always a stand out at the District West Pride Show. :) Its my new favorite tradition.

My first ever drag show was at a big theater in L.A. I was 18 and i went with my bestfriend and her bf . The line up was so good. Delta , Miss Coco Peru, Raja ,Detox .... We had such a good time and we couldnt stop laughing at Miss Coco Perus set! LEGENDS !!!

I remember my friend asked her to send a sweet message for me for my birthday in 2019 because they know how much i love her and that I’d probably never get to meet her since i live in the middle east and she went above and beyond and sent the sweetest voice message on my birthday and we even chatted for a bit she asked me about my life and how we’re doing here i just love her so much

My favorite episode of Very Delta, come back to it all the time. So much wisdom in this episode. When I first heard Coco say “Out of the bar and into the street” I got chills. Also Coco’s accent is everything, when she was talking about Linen’s and Things I was dying, sounded straight of a skit of Coffee Talk
I could listen to Coco all day. Incredibly smart, so poised, and truly empathetic. A legend in every sense of the word. Would love to see her again on the show!
I adore Coco Peru!! She used to do these TH-cam videos where she would go to Walgreens, Target etc. and shop. They were so enjoyable. I discovered them and her during the height quarantine in 2020. And yes, she hates litter.
They need to be respectful, and polite !! Using someone else's stuff without asking is the same as stealing ! Period !! I'm really older than many of the " girls" , and I look at bad behavior as bad upbringing !! Low Class, and unacceptable !! Teach them, Delta !! Love Ya !!

I was first introduced to coco on will and grace in my very early 20s...i love that she keeps a consistent iconic look so that she's easily recognized. Such a calming human. Love it.
As an European I feel that I not always can connect with every US drag queen. Sometimes it's probably something cultural that is too different for me to connect fully. But I gotta say, Coco somehow has that magic spark. That person who makes you go through all the emotions and just makes you feel alive .. and yeah bothered too. Gosh, I love Coco!
