You still pay Income Tax in Texas like wtf are y'all always smoking saying you pay no taxes in Texas. It's literally a 6-12% difference at most to what you pay in California income tax wise and Texas. The biggest hit by taxes is by the Federal Income tax, hence why you get a Bigger Fed tax return instead of the state.
I always appreciate your content, but I've always thought that Pelinka sucked since the day he was hired. He had absolutely no basketball
executive experience, only hired because he so happened to be Kobe Bryant's agent which allowed him to form a friendship with Jeannie Buss, and no one in basketball circles has ever like this dude (most players, agents, or other team executives). He took a bubble/gym room trophy team, tore it apart and has no clue on how to put it back together, he's a terrible talent evaluator as it relates to what coach and players are needed to surround his two-star players. What Pelinka seems to be best at is signing marginal players that don't fit to bad contracts. So, while Nick Wright may be pre-planning to blame Pelinka for this upcoming failed season, I'd say this should've been the case a long time ago. This is coming from a non-Laker fan and someone who almost always disagrees with Nick Wright.
Laker fan here..Nick will pick the Lakers in the playoffs against the Denvers of the world because of LeBron. Not because we think Pelinka has done such a masterful job piecing together a roster. Rob Pelinka's contract is up in 2 years. At that point in time he should not be brought back. He has failed us as a gm more than he's pieced together winners. Other organizations play hardball with the Lakers on the trade market in large part because of the not so great reputation Pelinka had as an agent prior to somehow getting this gm job. I'm no Nick Wright defender, but regardless of how we feel about him or his defense/excuse making of LeBron, there's no way we can just tap dance around the fact Rob Pelinka ain't it.
