I see Marco joining the Grand Fleet & leading remnants of Whitebeard. Of course this will all take place during the final war.
@@davidortiz3094 he's either an ally or a neutral power like Mihawk, Crocus or Reighley. He won't become a commander to Luffy, let's be real. Marco was a Yonko candidate a few years ago and even currently he's respected by Big Mom, Shanks, King and Queen (among others). His power rivals Luffy's in more ways than you think, which is why I'm saying he could become an allied force but not a commander under Luffy. Saying he'd become a commander for sentimental reasons is like saying, Zoro would become Kid's commander if Luffy were killed. Zoro would not join Kid because if Zoro were to will it, he could command Luffy's crew and fleet. Just because the strawhats disband doesn't mean he'll be willing to work under Kid who he's already in the same league with i.e. Supernova, and in Marco's case Yonko candidate. Basically, Marco disbanded the WB pirates because they couldn't carry on WB's legacy into the new era and any further losses would be an insult to WB's record. He had already retired and was guarding WB's hometown as his final act of loyalty and gratitude. He ONLY came to Wano because Neko requested his assistance for Oden's sake, to redeem himself with a second chance to save the legacy of one of his heroes. He couldn't save WB's territories but at least he could aid in saving Oden's territory. And his speech about passing on the torch to Zoro and Sanji is the culmination of his whole character arc. And that's why he was so carefree after finally coming to terms with the reality of belonging to a bygone era, dude was sleeping and daydreaming in the middle of a war and smiling all the time. He could die and wouldn't regret a thing. Oda is telling us that he's finally done, Marco will remain retired after this and he'll spend his time helping out people in need. However, he still has a connection to Teech and he knows how his body works etc. If he's called upon once again by Luffy, he will definitely rise to the occasion as an ally for Ace's sake and for redeeming their loss to Teech during the payback war. A shared goal kind of alliance, like Law has with Luffy, not a subordinate type alliance like the strawhat Fleet or core commanders (just the strawhats basically) He won't actively join Luffy, and won't swear allegiance to him like Chinjao and the rest did in Dressrosa. He's an outsider, the samurai may join Luffy as a show of gratitude (like the Tontatas, Sun pirates(fishmen) and minks did) but Marco owes Luffy nothing, in fact it's the other way around. So far he has saved Luffy, Nami, Ussop, Zoro, and Sanji (I think he even helped out Brooke and Robin). Much like Crocus, Kuma and Reighley, he's acting as a sort of guide that ensures the Strawhats achieve greatness. That's his purpose, his fighting ability is just a segway into that. Not every character thats fond of the strawhats or Luffy needs to join them (we've had and still have a lot of those I could provide a list but I think you know this fact already).
I think the theme of inherited will is basically the most important one in One Piece, and Whitebeard lived by it. So maybe he felt that it's not for his generation to inherit Oden's will
Just makes you wonder what really happened at the end of the "Pay-Back War". Like if any of the WB pirates survived, (like with Marco), how did any of them break away from the BB pirates. Was there some sort of deal or something offered to let some WB members live? 🤔🤔
Well you need to keep in mind that Blackbeard is more of a Chaotic character, then being straight up Evil. He most likely spared them because they were in fact his Family for a long time. Otherwise there is no way he would let Fruits like the Phoenix and Diamond to escape Him OR the War was a lot closer that it was reported, maybe the BB Pirates were too injured and had to let them escape.
The WB likely retreated after suffering too many casualties. whether that came at the cost of their crewmates (Jozu, Vista, Whitey Bey, etc.) dying to buy time we don't know yet. Marco would have too much pride to take any deal BB had to spare his life. He would die as a WB pirate than to submit to BB. It is interesting to note that none of the Titanic Captains have a DF that belonged to the WB crew. maybe they didn't get to steal any of their fruits.
Sorry i disagree , we only saw him in mere sequecnes instead of full fights , contrary to what people think he is not admiral level as attacking them only once each(marineford ) isn't enough to prove it (same with big mom) , when it comes to king and katakuri they are equally capable ; king has monstrous durability(+ancient zoan and fire buff) and katakuri has special paramecia + future sight , besides marco' s regernation is not indefinite it will wear down when his stamina diminishes with time so the battle will be tricky and whoever wins it will be extreme-diff
Blackbeard wouldn’t be like “yeah I get it” when Marco finishes him off. We saw how he shamelessly begged for his life to Whitebeard at Marineford so he ni doubt would do the same to Marco which would be an even more satisfying end.
I like to think that Marco became a doctor to try to help Whitebeard in more ways. Like maybe the Pheonix fruit was only doing so much so he studied to possibly become one of the greatest doctor in his time. He wasn't considered "A Doctor of the Whitebeard crew" but "THE Doctor of the Whitebeard Crew"
I don't think this version of the fire festival was around before kaido and orochi. Maybe it was a holiday before, but izo wouldn't know that kaidos and orochis entire force gather together on this day.
Marco is my favorite character in One Piece, since the fist time he appear i was fascinated by his devil fruit, and a pretty neat detail, that i think is usually overshadow. I genually believe that Marco is the best zoan devil fruit user, because is the only zoan that we see transforming only parts of his body, normally the zoan have their normal, hybrid, and full animal form, but Marco can transform only certain parts like his wings or claws, and i love it. Great video Tekking
Between being an ancient zoan and the abilities of the Phoenix his recovery and endurance gotta be near Kaido levels. He just doesn’t have the raw power of Kaido or the necessary level of haki to compete with a yonko.
@@nature_laughslast6438 Yet. Marco has still Room to Grow and is the fore barer of Whitebeards Will. What holds him back (power wise) is the fact that he is a Doctor and not a Fighter.
Izo wasn’t there when kaido took over so the going to onigashima tradition was not established meaning he didn’t know orochi and kaido would be on a separate island where civilian casualties would be minimized
Kaido and Orochi started the fire festival I thought, so I don't think Izo would know. And I think the fact the whitebeard wouldn't act because a slow drawn out death is better than a quick messy death, is supposed to allude to the difference between Luffy and most everyone else, that a death is a death doesn't matter if it's now or 20 years from now.
Marco is my fourth favorite character and I've loved him since he was introduced probably in the series. Just how he tells Shanks off, made me laugh so hard and that's when I decided he was awesome. I didn't even know about his DF at that point, but that moment, it was priceless (especially since Shanks is my second favorite character). The more we see of him, the more I like him. In Marineford, I loved how cheeky and laid-back he seemed to be, in the middle of a WAR. And I love his phoenix form. I love that it isn't a red and orange phoenix, but a blue and yellow one. It's different, but so beautiful. His bratty and cheeky side definitely is something I love about him and how he seems to feel alive in the middle of a war. Not only at Marineford, but also at Onigashima. Makes you wonder how dangerous he can truly be, when being deadly serious. Anyway, I just want to thank you for dedicating a video to the pineapple birb. It makes me so happy. Now I'll be waiting for an Izo video, because that gorgeous male needs one too. He is as badass as Marco and actually did more in the raid than Marco has. Just saying.
I really do feel for Marco, I wouldn't be surprised if both the deaths of Ace and Whitebeard and the payback war will eat at him for the rest of his life. Also Tekking starting a pineapple cult was not something I was expecting see to start out my week lol.
Couple random thoughts: 1. What are the odds that Marco was at God Valley? Maybe he was part of the Rocks crew and decided to follow Whitebeard (also, same thought goes for Streusen and BM) 2. How long as Marco been a doctor? Would he have decided to become a doctor after learning of Whitebeard’s illness?
@@XenoPon2 I honestly thought yamato had more considering she's talked to luffy multiple times and I'm pretty sure she's met other members of the crew, i don't believe for a second that Marco surpassed her
But he probably doesn’t wanna get involved with blackbeard again, and honestly Yamato, could get development, plus she’s been around Luffy, and if he wants someone that interesting to join they will.
I think the Whitebeard crew couldn't attack Kaido during the Fire Festival is because they would need to infiltrate Wano with too many people, Orochi and Kaido would certainly have caught wind of it before the attack happened. The reason the raid on Onigashima worked was because there were very few people not from Wano who participated in it, and a freak combination of factors, most importantly Kinemon's genius about the signal.
If I remember correctly Izo wasn’t in Wano to hear Toki’s prophecy, so yea Izo prolly would know about the fire festival but how would he know about the 20 year plan?
A bit of topic, but did you notice that last chapter we didn’t get the box saying [Battle at the top of Onigashima, winner: Luffy]. So... is it not over yet?
Izo knew about the fire festival, but keep in mind he had been gone for all of Kaidos rule. So he likely didn't know that Kiado and his whole army settled down on Onigashima and have their own banquet during that festival
I can relate to Marco knowing his father was going to die to a slow illness. My father was in the same boat for a few years before he passed. Only difference is that lockdown stopped me from being able to say goodbye to him. Ive lost many family members but Loosing a parent is a feeling that I cannot properly describe.
I think the deaths that Whitebeard spoke of were those that they would be unable to protect whilst fighting Kaido. All the islands under Whitebeards protection would be vulnerable to other pirates, and more civilians under Whitebeards protection would die than those he could save at Wano.
Crazy thought I had about my favorite character in the series. What if Marco awakening is not typical other Zoans but Sense he is a mythical Zoan it’s based off the mythical zoan it self. So what if his awakening is Similar to Brooks in the sense of if he dies he’ll Awakens his fruit in resurrection Based off the legend of the Phoenix itself
Well if Orochis Fruit revived him like 7 times, it would not be far fetched if The Phoenix Fruit can also revive its user. But maybe it is like an one time deal, you get the Resurrection, but you loose the Power, because you actually died.
I can wiggle my ears :3 it happend once on reflex because something loud startled me and then I "noticed" the muscles so I was able to use them from then on. Similiar thing with flaring my nostrils
The thing about izo is that he hasn’t been in wano in a while especially since kaido took over it so maybe he doesn’t know that kaido celebrates in onigashima specifically
Several good faith points to consider: 1. It leaves their territory vulnerable. Fighting another Emperor would require the whole crew, no guarantee of victory. Losses would be staggering. B. Lack of information. No guarantee of allies, have to fight orochi on top of Kaido, don't necessarily know about the fire festival being held on Onigashima, as this was a custom begun after Orochi and Kaido took power, Izo wouldn't know this info. III. No guarantee the WG or an third Yonkou might not make a move.
Here's the thing about Whitebeard attacking during the Fire Festival... Whitebeard is a Yonko with a Yonko Fleet. For one, Kaido would certainly get news of Whitebeard suddenly approaching Wano. Sure, Kaido doesn't have a crazy extensive info network like the World Government or anything, but he would most certainly have some tabs on the other Yonko, if nothing else. Even if Kaido didn't get this info though, Whitebeard would still have to get his entire fleet onto Wano, which as we've learned it's actually a bit difficult to get a ship up to Wano via the waterfalls... much less an entire fleet of them. I know Kaido and his crew can very much be the definition of the word "klutz", but I find it very hard to believe he would not have any forewarning about an entire Whitebeard fleet slowly making it's way up the waterfall to Wano.
I think we need to remember that not every single person attended the fire festival each year. It just so happens to be that the year that they attacked is the same year kyoshiro was in change. If whitebeard arrived and Orochimaru or Kaido have an order, everyone on main land Wano could die.
Maybe his winged form loses a feather, putting something of a limit on how many resurrections can occur? Phoenix feathers have been sought after in fiction long before Potter/Rowling.
31:52 Festival schmestival, without Whitebeard they had no one that would have a realistic chance against Kaido. Kaido would slaughter them all and then work the civilians even harder out of spite, they had no path to victory, it would have been a suicide mission
I think he meant while white beard was still alive. They definitely had some time between them learning of odens death and white beards attempt at saving ace. Not sure how that fight would go but they definitely had time right.
I'm 32 years old and it just realized the last name of Ash from Pokemon is Ketchum as in "caught them", after Tekking said: Luffy is falling, someone needs to "caught him". I thought it sounds so familiar and I had a brain fart after so many years. I from the Netherlands and he has the same name in Dutch so I never saw the connection
even if Whitebeared wanted to, to schedule a war to last one day would be near impossible especially since the only reason it worked with the strawhats is how small of a group they were and kanjuro not giving complete information right from the very beginning, kinda would be hard to push 10-20k in with a large ship like the moby dick undectected lol
Izo wouldn't have known that the fire festival would be held on a separate island for kaido and the beast crew. He left with Oden when Oden first left before wano was taken over.
Marco is definitely there at Wano to pass on the torch. I expect Marco to have some info about the 4th road ponyglyph since it's possible that Whitebeard claimed the one that was located at Fishman Island. This is supported by the fact that the title of the Zou chapter was "Inside the whale" which we all know was Whitebeard ships figurehead. For the reason why Whitebeard did not avenge Oden. I think it's safe to say that there were a lot of islands under Whitebeard's protection he could not let down.
Marco is my favorite Character and just seeing all his gone through and all the trauma and everything just makes me relate to him even more feeling powerless feeling like you can’t do anything it’s kind of product that he has the phoenix fruit the only one that would symbolically be able to rise from the ashes and he is still kicking
In my opinion I recon it would be really cool if Marco at the end of the story is luffys fleet admiral and has control over the entire alliance bc he has experience commanding a large unit and like you said could be the support character that comes in last minute a few times to help clear a path for luffy to get to black beard following through on the last order that white beard gave his crew clear a path for straw hat luffy
I don't think Izo would've known about the fire festival stuff with Orochi and Kaido, since he left before they were in power. The fire festival tradition probably existed, but it wasn't about the rulers of the country going to Onigashima to party, it was just a time of joy.
The pineapple bit reminded me of Invader Zim and then this entire channel all made sense 🤣🤣 Invader Zim Conclusion =StarWarsRobe(Outer space+SciFi)+PineappleDiety(WorshippingSomethingRidiculousForARidiculousReason lmao)+RandomRefreshments (GirsRandomFoodMoments)
Maybe…. There has always been a tradition of a Fire festival in Wano. The primary function was probably to honor the dead. But the death of Oden changed everything. It prompted the true reign of Kaido and Orochi. So it changed to Orochi going to Onigashima to drink the night away with the Beast Pirates. Izo would not know of this change

A shared goal kind of alliance, like Law has with Luffy, not a subordinate type alliance like the strawhat Fleet or core commanders (just the strawhats basically)
He won't actively join Luffy, and won't swear allegiance to him like Chinjao and the rest did in Dressrosa.
TEACH SPARE THEM COZ OF FAMILY 😂😂
100%
Some might have joined him 😒
Well you need to keep in mind that Blackbeard is more of a Chaotic character, then being straight up Evil.
It’s clearly that Marco’s entire purpose was to make sure nobody die.
Quite apropros considering he’s a doctor, and he performed his duties well.
Tekking has mastered the art of the cringy yet entertaining intro🙏🏽😭
He did awaken the Cringe Cringe Fruit
When Marco was a first commander I would argue he was the strongest outside of maybe Ben Beckman. Over King and Katakuri.
I agree considering how much he is capable of
Sorry i disagree , we only saw him in mere sequecnes instead of full fights , contrary to what people think he is not admiral level as attacking them only once each(marineford ) isn't enough to prove it (same with big mom) , when it comes to king and katakuri they are equally capable ; king has monstrous durability(+ancient zoan and fire buff) and katakuri has special paramecia + future sight , besides marco' s regernation is not indefinite it will wear down when his stamina diminishes with time
so the battle will be tricky and whoever wins it will be extreme-diff
Man, I wish we got to see more of Marco, love his character and his devil fruit has always been one of my favorites.
I swear, every time i think your intro cant get any weirder, you prove me wrong. its great, honestly.
“Yes cashier. I am going to eat this pineapple” 0u0
What a legend
I genuinely hope Marco is there at the end with Teach to finish the job and finally get their revenge. Maybe a few other whitebeard pirates.
Yeah, I was about to type about how Kaido and Orochi probably started the fire festival too.
What if Marco is actually really old and he’s been reborn and he grew up a second time
Damn that'd be crazy
He was Rox all along...
@@XenoPon2 Damn that'd be crazy
@@XenoPon2 I’m not saying he was rox, I’m just saying his devil fruit awakening was probably a rebirth
@@monkeydgarp9663 I'm not saying he's Rocks either, I'm just saying you've never seen him and Rocks in the same room...
I really do feel for Marco, I wouldn't be surprised if both the deaths of Ace and Whitebeard and the payback war will eat at him for the rest of his life.
Also Tekking starting a pineapple cult was not something I was expecting see to start out my week lol.
Couple random thoughts:
1. What are the odds that Marco was at God Valley? Maybe he was part of the Rocks crew and decided to follow Whitebeard (also, same thought goes for Streusen and BM)
2. How long as Marco been a doctor? Would he have decided to become a doctor after learning of Whitebeard’s illness?
Tekking gave me flash back to my youth with the ministry of darkness with that intro
Marco for nakama, he had more interactions with the crew than yamato
Did he?
@@XenoPon2 I honestly thought yamato had more considering she's talked to luffy multiple times and I'm pretty sure she's met other members of the crew, i don't believe for a second that Marco surpassed her
But he probably doesn’t wanna get involved with blackbeard again, and honestly Yamato, could get development, plus she’s been around Luffy, and if he wants someone that interesting to join they will.
@@XenoPon2 yes
@@romram7984 read again the manga, marco has interacted with all of the strawy
I think the Whitebeard crew couldn't attack Kaido during the Fire Festival is because they would need to infiltrate Wano with too many people, Orochi and Kaido would certainly have caught wind of it before the attack happened. The reason the raid on Onigashima worked was because there were very few people not from Wano who participated in it, and a freak combination of factors, most importantly Kinemon's genius about the signal.
Love the video keep up the great work tekking
Amazing your videos are amazing
I hope you keep creating these wonderful vids on anime
Question: Any idea when your next “What if?” Vid will be?
It'd be cool if King caught Luffy, he sees Kaido fall, he acknowledges Luffy as Joyboy and saves him
king had his wings clipped
Yeah, but one of his wings was cut off by Zoro, so that's not happening.
@@BudokaiTH Great idea
This intro is the quality content I'm here for.
buggy is 39, god valley was 38 years ago..... buggy is celestial dragon confirmed
If I remember correctly Izo wasn’t in Wano to hear Toki’s prophecy, so yea Izo prolly would know about the fire festival but how would he know about the 20 year plan?
9:40 lol I honestly seeing white beard doing that
Dude the pineapple juice breaks in between the epic talks kills me. Your a legend.
that intro was just the thing to watch with a cup of pineapple juice
I demand Barry D Brink get a Barry D. Block for his desk
bro the intro had me crying laughing
OMG the intro to this video with the pineapple roflroflrofl
I love Marco, bless him!
Always appreciate your content Tekking!
A bit of topic, but did you notice that last chapter we didn’t get the box saying [Battle at the top of Onigashima, winner: Luffy]. So... is it not over yet?
Knowing all this about Marco now he is probably my favorite character, he’s just been through hell and he never loses his cool.
marco became so friggin cool in wano
Izo knew about the fire festival, but keep in mind he had been gone for all of Kaidos rule. So he likely didn't know that Kiado and his whole army settled down on Onigashima and have their own banquet during that festival
Hi tekking thanks for making dope vids
Great intro! :P
100% 10% effort on making that "Horse Intro" and like he said it's feakin great! lmao
Not me with my head canon Marco became a doctor to try and treat whitebeards condition
Just realized Marco had to have been the one in charge of all those nurses on the ship when Shanks visited. Lucky guy
I can relate to Marco knowing his father was going to die to a slow illness. My father was in the same boat for a few years before he passed. Only difference is that lockdown stopped me from being able to say goodbye to him. Ive lost many family members but Loosing a parent is a feeling that I cannot properly describe.
Just in time for a bedtime listening, good night
I don’t even flinch at Tekking’s intros anymore. It’s expected for him to just walk into frame deifying pineapples
I think the deaths that Whitebeard spoke of were those that they would be unable to protect whilst fighting Kaido. All the islands under Whitebeards protection would be vulnerable to other pirates, and more civilians under Whitebeards protection would die than those he could save at Wano.
Thank you for a great video guys
Marco and Mukuro two loveable pineapple heads.
I think Marco was reborn from WB's original vice-captain.
I can wiggle my ears :3 it happend once on reflex because something loud startled me and then I "noticed" the muscles so I was able to use them from then on. Similiar thing with flaring my nostrils
Finally a long video from Tekking again. Maybe everything is gonna be alright 😢
The thing about izo is that he hasn’t been in wano in a while especially since kaido took over it so maybe he doesn’t know that kaido celebrates in onigashima specifically
Who the hell puts Marco on a pizza?
Marco on pizza, I approb.
Marco is a Phoenix and that is why he is my favorite among Whitebeard Pirates
Several good faith points to consider:
The Rustage rap in the into was amazing!! And I think he's even in the US right now, or he will be oven here soon for his tour
I think we need to remember that not every single person attended the fire festival each year. It just so happens to be that the year that they attacked is the same year kyoshiro was in change. If whitebeard arrived and Orochimaru or Kaido have an order, everyone on main land Wano could die.
I feel that awakened Marco should be able to revive people but it takes time from his life or someone else
Maybe brooks fruit to contact the soul and marcos fruit to revive the body to working condition
Maybe his winged form loses a feather, putting something of a limit on how many resurrections can occur? Phoenix feathers have been sought after in fiction long before Potter/Rowling.
@@kneau I really like that idea
33:27 it’s the knife he used on thatch
It wouldnt be surprising if Marco wakes up in a cold sweat several times a night, I doubt the man sleeps well. :(
31:52 Festival schmestival, without Whitebeard they had no one that would have a realistic chance against Kaido.
I don’t know what I would do without Tekking
Tekking takes the smallest sips I have ever witnessed someone sipping.
Izo wouldn't have known that the fire festival would be held on a separate island for kaido and the beast crew. He left with Oden when Oden first left before wano was taken over.
28:31 Wasn't the Fire Festival established after Kaido and Orochi took over ?
I don't believe so. I think it was a tradition long before Orochi. It was like the one thing Orochi kept from the old Wano.
Has anyone noticed that Dragon has Xebec eyes and Ace has Garps eyes
Marco is definitely there at Wano to pass on the torch. I expect Marco to have some info about the 4th road ponyglyph since it's possible that Whitebeard claimed the one that was located at Fishman Island. This is supported by the fact that the title of the Zou chapter was "Inside the whale" which we all know was Whitebeard ships figurehead. For the reason why Whitebeard did not avenge Oden. I think it's safe to say that there were a lot of islands under Whitebeard's protection he could not let down.
he is my favorite character because when i first saw the mythical zoan it was the coolest thing as a kid
Marco is my favorite Character and just seeing all his gone through and all the trauma and everything just makes me relate to him even more feeling powerless feeling like you can’t do anything it’s kind of product that he has the phoenix fruit the only one that would symbolically be able to rise from the ashes and he is still kicking
truly an amazing into from tekking
Shanks gave Whitebeard sake from his home town in the west blue so he joined Roger when he was old enough to remember where he came from.
@Rahul Sharma and Marco could be one of them ussop could be the one in the crew that the fleet talk to
Watching a crazed man with a pet brick worshipping a pineapple is far more therapeutic than I'd imagined it would be
I don't think Izo would've known about the fire festival stuff with Orochi and Kaido, since he left before they were in power.
Yo for real Marco finishing off black beard would be the most poetic ending to black beard ever. Maybe the most poetic in all of one piece.
Yeah! Marco is and most probably will always be my favorite character in the one piece series.
I mostly think it's because of personality (wholesome), as well as having a very special devil fruit. Always an underrated character.
