Buggy isn't just a comic relief, he's a very good social pirate, he believes in true piracy, completely neutral(which is just a little evil) and is very easy to get along, he cherishes his crew, especially the oldest members and is also willing to let them go, he might've gotten lucky with the new members in Impel Down, but managing to keep them after that and even make them more loyal then before is something special
Honestly at this point Luffy's major enemies take an aspect to him and pushes it to the extreme in some way. Blackbeard with his wish for freedom, and Bucky with his ability to turn people around him into allies
Buggy has shown that he has the potential to be extremely dangerous. Sure, he got to the peak of the pirate world through dumb luck and bluffs, but the fact that he has managed to survive this long proves he has some level of talent. The problem is that he never really had the drive to capitalize on his resources. He just gets opportunities handed to him and rolls with it rather than improve himself or use his resources for a goal. He’s a joke now, but only because he never had the drive to grow into his station.
@@Mgauge all im hearing is "Potential this and that" Potential means nothing if you don't capitalize on it and he's been a fucking bum ass clown for over 20 years. He's a disgrace pure and simple
no he does not, NAMI never followed him and he is way different than Luffy, he doesn't treasure valuable things, he is flaw and cowardly and all lies, he bluffs his way and is a gag charecter
Another thing about Buggy is that Luffy is kind of there to kickstart them and their journey runs parallel. Buggy didn't care to do much until he lost to the kid who reminded him of Shanks and that was the catalyst. Then there's a really short but kind of important scene in Impel Down (at least in the anime) regarding Buggy where he was being a coward and simply choosing not to face the Blugori and runaway then he met up with Luffy and noted he "hated how you and Shanks always are optimistic in the worst situations" or something among that line and at that point he literally decides to turn around and actually fight. Buggy just needed the right situation to get him moving (even if he blunders a lot along the way)
Me and my podcast members just past those eps and that is correct. I also agree that Buggy is a great character but that doesn’t shine through until Impel Down Also shameless plug: One Piece with a Lime
Lets see Buggy has Sailed with Gol D Roger Attained a DF that has made him immune to all slashing attacks Has fought ALL of the current Yonko and lived A HIGHLY accomplished background in chemistry and explosives Has nearly killed one the current Yonko who is also a God and the aon of Dragon and the son of Garp Tanked lighting Outwitted Impel Down and orchestrated a break out (he escaped his cell before Luffy even really entered and was smart enough to hide the fact that he had Devil Fruit that made him immune to a good deal of the torture.) Successfully managed to break out Impel Down (with a little help from Luffy) Managed to create a miniature Bomb that has the power to level towns and damage Awakened Zoans Got one of Desert King Crocodiles subordinates to switch over to his side Managed to have several hundred notorious criminals (even a few from level 5 ) follow his leader ship Was a star player in the Marineford War Fought Dracule Mihawk to a draw Tanked a point blank explosion that leveled a town Made an alliance with Whitebeard who recognized his strength and saw joining him a better bet than fighting him Confronted and showed the world he stands on equal levels with Red Haired Shanks (before Buggy even became a Yonko himself) Went against all the Admirals and survived (Dodge Kizaru's Laser, Akainu's Magma Fists, chilled out with Aokiji) Managed to be so accomplished that the WG recognized him and begged him to become a Warlord Used his wits and intelligence to capitalize on the immunity he had as a Warlord and built up a Pirate Network that had presumably hundreds if not thousands under his commands, even having ACTUAL GIANTS work for him, something Big Mom couldn't achieve. THEN grew it even larger as Doflamingo's and Kaido's weapons trade went to shit. Apparently managed to to defeat an oncoming World Government fleet since those bastards betrayed him. I'd say all in all Buggy is pretty accomplished and deserve to be where he is, his intelligence, wit, charisma, and reach surpasses most everyone. All this and he isn't even awakened yet. I didn't even mention he also has a smoking hot babe who calls him darling and it doesn't even phase him.
I always thought of it as shanks viewed Roger's death as a "I'm gonna live up to Roger's legacy" and buggy views it as a "roger was an unstoppable titan of a man and still died so what chance do I have" so buggy went to the weakest sea being the east blue so he can still enjoy being a pirate without encountering strong pirates or marines. He never trained or got stronger cause his God figure of a captain still lost his life so he didn't think he could ever reach Roger's level or anyone near Roger.
This is 100% accurate. If you read the Manga cover page stories with buggy, you can actually see each part of his journey Including chapter 53, exactly 1000 chapters ago where he points at luffy bounty, indicating they will both be very important figures in the future
essentially the two main ways people deal with bad situations Shanks relresents those who try to make the most of it and crawl above, recover and get better Buggy is those who arent able to recover as well and decide to give up and stay low afraid of it happening again
I honestly kind of feel like Buggy hit a long span of depression after Roger's death which is what held him back so much for so long. I agree about him self-sabotaging his own progress. It took Luffy to fully shake him out of that mindset and Buggy has spent the past 2 years in a way playing catch up to who he could be. He's always been relatively informed about stuff, but lacked any real motivation.
I wouldn’t put this entirely on Roger’s death. Buggy had been self-sabotaging for most of his life. He doesn’t have the drive or vision to push himself to his real potential. Instead, he just keeps his eyes on keeping himself in a comfortable position. He only moves on when forced and managed to stumble his way into a state far above what he has any right to be.
Luffy has the ability to turn anyone into allies. Usopp has the ability to turn all his lies into reality. Buggy as the ability to always make things turn out in his favour.
I think the reason buggy is so weak is because he never wanted status in his pirate career so he never got stronger, instead he wanted treasure and gold so he focused on that. He's probably a great quarter master and treasure hunter.
We only think he's weak. He has no real backstory yet. It's being saved for some reason. Also he's weak but for some reason able to withstand Conqueror's Haki? It weird yo. He was the first real enemy after AxeHand Morgan, and tbh I wouldn't be surprised if he was set up there to test Luffy. There's no way he didn't recognize that was Shank's and formerly Rogers hat. He always seems to randomly end up at the right place at the right time Ya'll are sleeping in my boy.
Buggy called out Zoro just because beating him would make him famous. He was blowing up towns to get his name out there. He wasn't just a treasure hunter.
The way you described how Buggy doesn't want to be too known by the Marines is exactly how he acted when he had a Yonko Commander asleep on his ship. Buggy thought it was just best if he just gave Ace a free lunch than to bring any attention to himself. :^)
My pet theory is that he know where Raftel is located and got shit scared that people would come for him when Roger started the pirate era. That's why he was laying low in East blue and that's how he'll participate to the emperor battle royal for the one piece (since Mihawk need to clash with Zoro at some point).
@@GuysCupank Well, currently, he is called Senryou Douke which literally means Star Clown. The first part comes from Senryou Yakusha which means Star (actor), Prima Donna, or Leading Figure. The second part comes from Doukeshi or Douke Yakusha which mean Clown or Jester.
I think Buggy was always training his abilities once he put on the giant outfit. That constant stretch/dismemberment was hard training and possibly lead to him learning a lot of new tricks or even Awakening. His crew is notorious, he had giants at one point, his main crew is a damn near carbon-copy of the Rock's crew back in the day (but in meme format) and his luck is........ unfathomable
The giants left... and joined the grand Fleet.... buggy is a joke. He better have a broken awakening so that him becoming a Yonko starts to make some sense
And we have to remember that Buggy is, in fact, a damn great chemist and weapons inventor. We may look back at the "Buggy Ball!" and laugh, but the cannonball he invented could cause an amount of destruction that not even the Marine has. And then he want and made a small portable version that, although less powerful, is still enough to stagger and heavily damage a frigging Awakened Zoan, while being able to hide it in his clothes to shoot it at any moment and from any position. This isn't nearly enough talked about. If we consider that ALL his ships are equippped with Buggy Balls, and that in this 2 years he may have improved them even more, then his fleet is TERRIFYING. He WON?T be losing ship to ship battles any time soon... Damn, this frigging clown has as much fire power in a single ship as a friggign Buster Call!!!!
@@Alex111119 Buggy is no joke. He has territory, fleet and influence. The problem with people incredulous with him being a Yonkou is that they completly dismiss all the other things that are needed to be a Yonkou and just focus on strength. And that´s why Law and Kidd weren´t Yonkou, they have no fleet, no turf and no influence, only broken DF powers and Conqueror´s (Kidd´s case).
No joke, imagine buggy with shigan. Even if it was only his actual fingers and not just random cubes of body, imagine 10 tiny telekineticly controlled darts moving all around you at mach speeds
Honestly if buggy even just mastered his awakening he could probably split and control the ground, turning into a whirlwind of sharp rocks wherever he goes
Buggy’s fruit is really underrated. If he had bothered to train it up and learn Haki, he could do some real damage. Not as much as the other Emperors, but enough to be a legitimate threat without his minions.
It's really cool of oda to bring one of the first villains all the way to the end. Shows that it's not just the protagonists that get stronger and progress but the villains too
I've been calling out Buggy becoming an emperor since the end of Impel Down. Still think he is Luffy's greatest competition for the pirate king title. Not only is Buggy great at failing upwards but he also has a weird inverse of Luffy's devil fruit (both gaining range but we're Luffy is immune to bludgeoning damage buggy is immune to slashing damage). And since Buggy is running from the entire government right now I can see there being a chance to run to an island that had only been found once in the last 800 years. Edit: I'm terrible at typing words
I can imagine that buggy learned his crazy high charisma from Roger, while Shanks got both Roger's Charisma and his fighting skills. I always liked the idea that the reason why Buggy never tried to become an infamous pirate is because he knows first hand what happens when a pirate gets too famous. Buggy has seen Roger fight an entire war against Shiki with only 20-ish people in the Roger Pirates, he was there when Roger fought a man who could literally destroy the world if he choose, and probably fought Kaido and Big Mom dozens of times too. I don't think its that far of an assumption to assume that Buggy has some sort of PTSD or something similar because of his adventures on the Roger crew, which is the normal reaction someone should have.
Buggy a weak coward who would sell out his entire crew if that was the only way for him too get away and he wouldn't look back buggy always been a coward if he isn't 100x stronger then his enemy he is running like a lil bitch literally anyone can take over his crew it's like just by being a Roger crew member he got some power boost what makes no sense Couse he always been a weak bitch who too lazy too learn new tricks wouldn't be surprised if he can't even use Hali
I wouldn’t only spineless people like the real world humans would have that reaction but there are crazy people like me who have no qualms doing crazy shit just for amusement
Tekking, you’ve gotten a lot of praise recently because you aren’t putting spoilers in the titles of your videos or thumbnails. Keep with it for the good cause!
An awakened Buggy with observation haki could be unhittable. I imagine he'd have full control of his body but I also imagine him getting this power completely by mistake from a life of immense cowardice haha
awakened buggy can theoretically split anything around him. so listen. he splits the sky with his awakening, and then everyone around him thinks he has hella conquerors haki 😂
During Marineford Mihawk says that the most dangerous trait in the world is the ability to gather allies. He says that of Luffy, but it arguably applies to Buggy as well.
I think it's a lot more than "trolling". The current set of emperors is actually a incredibly well fitting group when it comes to long term storytelling. In a way they all tie to Shanks at the center, you have an important rival of Shanks (he literally displays the scar from that as his Jolly Roger), an old companion of Shanks (and the reason he himself didn't go to Laughtale the first time) and the kid he is a mentor to and that carries his hat (which also shares the dream of going to Laughtale). You also have the 2 kids from Roger's ship as the last remnant of that generation vs. the 2 most notorious ones that rose from the new generation. And you have the man with multiple devilfruits, whose whole crew seems to be about collecting them, vs. the guy whose whole crew seems to do without them and then the 2 people with almost opposing devil fruits, who both ate them as almost an accident because of Shanks. There are just so many thematic and storytelling ties with these current 4 as a group that is seems incredibly deliberate. And equally has the "rise of Buggy" been setup throughout the story. He's always been stumbeling his way into more notoriety alongside Luffy and what might seem like just a joke from the readers perspective, in the eyes of the world, Buggy has actually pretty much earned his status and oda has actually been building that up in the background it's not actually coming out of nowwhere as just a gag there is also substance behind it. So yeah, I personally just love it. Does it initially seem very much like a joke, sure. But I feel oda put in the work from the beginning (and especially since Impel Down and Marineford) to make me buy into the joke being believable (heck, the whole thing is about a Laughtale, so don't tell me a clown can't be part of that) and I can actually see Buggy be there for the very end of it all and it making perfect sense.
Literally I think 90% of the people forget that One Piece is a story about laughing and a funny rubber man and try too much to make it serious (of course it is serious at many points, but the comedic moments are equally there throughout the story)
Buggy also has a fleet to recon with. Unlike 2 of the other warlords, and many of the worst gen. Plus a pedigree as a roger pirate, and notoriety as an impel down escapee.
the thing is Buggy was literally telling his men to stall the Marines so he could escape, he was thinking to betray his own, how could he become a Yonko from that? That's the problem, I think either Shanks or Blackbeard helped Buggy to escape from Marines, they collected all other Shichibukai under Buggy and one of them probably made Buggy Yonko, and Marines had no choice since they lost the battles.
I feel like, in a lot of ways, this feeds into the duality of Shanks and Buggy. Shanks is strong, brave and stoic... while Buggy is weak, cowardice and expressive. Buggy becoming a Yonko makes a lot more sense when you think of it this way: Shanks was always a naturally gifted fighter, but in that same sense Buggy was always a naturally gifted leader... Marine Ford was just the extra push he needed to realize this talent. Oda could really do a lot of good with Buggy by finally breaking the preconceived notion that you have to be a strong fighter to be a good leader (something largely spread by the rise of shonen manga, though not mutually exclusive to it). Buggy isn't strong, he isn't a master of haki or an awakened devil fruit user... but he doesn't need to be. He simply needs to be the charismatic backbone that keeps his crew from falling apart.
I think you are forgetting that the cp9 already existed, and had a leader who was no stronger than an average marine. Unlike buggy his subordinates, and everyone knew he was weak, but he was effective as a leader. So he was trusted by even the admirals.
Does make sense considering the yonko were always two sides of the same coin. You have Whitebeard and Big Mom, two incredibly strong captains with their crews being their family. Whitebeard with his many adopted children that he treats like his blood and Big Mom with her huge family that uses her children as she sees fit. We don’t quite know enough about Shanks to say how he personally contrasts with Kaido, but Kaido has an enormous crew of exclusively devil fruit users basically while Shanks has a small band of merry men with no devil fruit at all. Now we’re going to have Buggy contrast with Shanks, with Buggy being a weak and pretty dumb character vs Shanks who is narratively insanely powerful and someone who always knows way more than we do.
The Delivery Service represents a massive logistics network. As such, it also very possibly represents a major/ growing non-state economic power. If his place at the top of that network is secure, he may actually be in a position to challenge/ destroy the WG via economic warfare with a few easy decisions. I think that's why Buggy may be seen as a legit threat. It's not his physical strength, it's his economic influence and power.
exactly,90% of OP fans are degenerate power scalers who only think about "muh combat strenght",when in reality OP is much more than just DBZ style brainless fighting.
The man has an underground mercenary business active in the WHOLE WORLD + some of the strongest mercenaries + likely tons of incredibly powerful and influential business partners , and yeah , likely a shitton of economic leverage. He IS a threat, a very easy to kill threat , but the people under him benefit massively by associating with him , so they will protect him
And that's not where his Economic Influence and Power ends. We are constantly blinded by basically dragons and gods punching each other with such strength that they rip the sky apart, but technology and weapons are still a HUGE asset. And Buggy has had that since the beginning. Remember the Buggy Ball? That cannonball that can decimate a frigging town with a single shot? Remember that he also made a portable version, the size of a marble that he can hide in his clothes and shoot at any time from any angle, that was capable of staggering and heavily damaging (Though not defeating) a frigging Awakened Zoan? And that was 2 years ago, what could he have now? He has some truly amazing weapons he himself created, that countries could be kissing his booths to buy even in small quantities. If you are at war, having a cannonball taht could completely decimate an enemy fortress on it's own would be HUGE. Imagine how much money he could be making by sending some of his subordinates not only for individual strength, but to bring some of those special cannonballs.
@@shadow-faye A bit, too lazy to write the same but slightly differently time and time again in any place where I wanted to say talk about this aspect of Buggy XD.
I wasn’t terribly surprised due to the recent announcement that we are entering the final saga. Buggy, Shanks, Blackbeard and Luffy are all uniquely connected, so I felt that the Yonko announcement solidified that these characters are on a crash course. Buggy has potential to be a crucial character with a special moment of unlikely bravery by the story’s end
Buggy never trained a day in his life until just recently. He trained for 4 months and, due to his high latent potential, was able to get as strong as gok...err, I mean post-Wano Luffy.
With his father Cold Roger and his brother Cooler (in the South Pole)‚ he will attain his golden form (by bathing in Cpt John's treasure) and take over the world!
I think he finally found Captain John's treasure which could be 1 poneglyph 2 ancient weapon Uranus 3 something related to Rocks 4 a way to one of the moons because of the shape of the wrist map the fake pearls represent two moons
@@justincounts6001 when i read the chapter i immediately thought of buggy having an ancient weapon, but now i think it‘ll be a combination of many things like you mentioned realation to rocks, or new crewmembers. But what i personally would like to see the most is him awakening his devil fruit because let‘s be honest: It will be one of the most overpowered Df‘s when awakened
Something that a lot of people forget about one piece is that actual strength only matters during fights. Bounties are indicative of how much of a threat the government perceives you to be. The yonko are the 4 pirates who are regarded as the most dangerous by the general population of the world. You don't necessarily have to be very strong to have a billion+ berry bounty, or be recognized as one the yonko, and Buggy now serves as proof of that.
And something that a lot of people forget is that Buggy's crew has some insane firepower. How much could have improved them? If all of Buggy's ships are equipped with standard Buggy Balls, not even possibly improved ones from the time skip but simple standard ones we saw at the beginning of the series, then Buggy has his own private Buster Call.
The great things about Buggy being so, it's still historically accurate to have pirate captains that just let his underling do everything for him and there being shadow captains in a pirate crew
I think one aspect about Buggy that people tend to forget about, is the very thing that he used to terrorize the East Blue in the first place. The Buggy Balls. Buggy's a surprisingly skilled inventor. Those special designed cannonballs were so powerful that they could even affect the Jailer Beasts. Which are beings that don't go down very easily. And having the resources of a Yonkou to produce those balls on a GRANDER scale could easily make him a threat to the government.
Buggy isn’t just comedy, he represents the whole idea of illusion and the art of persuasion. He is a character of good and bad luck but uses the nativity of people to his advantage. He is a lot like Usopp in that self fulfilling prophecy kinda energy. I think when you have powerhouse Yonko already it’s actually good writing to have ne who has global influence through smoke and mirrors.
I've had a theory for a while about how Buggy could've became the Emperor and it all has to do with Captain John's treasure. So Buggy obviously tried to run away from the Marines capturing the warlords, but he probably used his charisma to persuade his forces into thinking he's running.... into battle! Just like the strong and courageous Captain Buggy they all believe in. In reality, he's escaping and trying to find Captain John's treasure. The island Buggy thought it was on all the way back in Skypiea had a skull cave, so he'll accidentally head to Beehive, the only other island with a prominent skull feature. Buggy would be absolutely scared out of his mind because this is Blackbeard's main base of operations, BUT fortunately for Buggy, Blackbeard and all of his commanders are out searching for something. Buggy would be able to search the island for the treasure, which could very well be there because Captain John was a member of the Rocks Pirates. Members of Buggy's fleet would probably see this as the perfect opportunity to wreak some havoc on a Yonko and would do so, with Buggy staying as far away as possible to look for the treasure. As a result of all the chaos surrounding Buggy heading into Blackbeard's territory, Big News Morgans would write this story as an attack and Buggy gets even more clout. Therefore, Buggy the Yonko is born. If you did read this, I'd love to know what you think!
I thought exactly the same, except that I think that Buggy actually found an ancient weapon (Captain John's treasure). This is highly plausible with Buggy being an arms dealer. Also, Emperors (their crews) all possessed a (golden) poneglyph or a copy thereof, which would have also fallen into the hands of Buggy. (Whether Buggy decided to hold onto Blackbeard's main base is another story.)
Imagine Buggy ends up actually creating the crew of Warlords That would be possibly the funniest thing of One Piece Zoro is being trained by someone on BUGGYS CREW😂
might be onto smthn with this, what if rayleigh basically just pulled up to Buggy's island and was jus like "yo I'm dropping off the warlords here brb". (Well I can see not ALL warlords but Boa, Mihawk, basically whoever knows the Straw Hats and hasn't gotten smacked)
I can't see any reason why any of them would have joined up with him. Mihawk is not someone to fall for Buggy and goes about things alone, Boa cares too much about her island and also both of them are in the first half of the Grand Line with no reason to seek out Buggy and basically had no time to do so even. The only one I could see ending up with Buggy in a funny way is Weevil. If he somehow ended up without his mom during the marine arrests, then Buggy probably ended up telling him he was best friends with his father Whitebeard and fought with him together at Marineford and then takes it upon himself to take him in as basically his own son from the sheer generosity in his heart. Buggy would totally pull that off and Weevil would exactly be the guy to fall for that.
The Chop-Chop fruit tbh is 100% on the high devil fruit list, when you look at doflamingo's Awakening it is basically "I turn the world into string" Il we put the same spin on buggy, you realise that his DV is basically just the reverse Op-Op No Mi but with an easier usage but less functions. He can pull the bodies off of someone and since its his DV the person its used on an probably not just pull it back with their mind. So any DV user can be counters using so sea stone and a body part. Buggy just grabs their toe and puts it on sea stone and BAM there goes Blackbeard.
Unfortunately that idea is easily countered with a combination of obs and arm haki. Obs to detect where he'll cut and arm to create a "cage" around that area to stop the effect. A very fun idea, though. Definitely a df that could've been used to some huge effect, if it hadn't been stuck on Buggy.
ya know we’re thinking about the fact that buggy was on the pirate kings crew and managed to survive the grand line as a kid as a testament to his strength,,, but what if that’s just another example of him stumbling into success? what if it’s revealed that he stumbled into being an apprentice on roger’s ship (and managed to survive partly because he was literally being protected by the strongest people), and then once they disbanded he was mortified and didn’t want to go through anything like that again, but then he met luffy, arguably carrying roger’s and joy boy’s will, and the snowball that is buggy’s “success” started rolling again and you notice that every single time he runs into luffy again something goes his way. at loguetown he gained an ally in alvida, at impel down he gained an ally in Mr. 3, got credited for the escape of impel down, and became a warlord
We often forget that he was doing pretty well against luffy when they first fought. He just lost focus when Nami tried to get away with his treasure. Not to mention he almost beheaded luffy.
@@zaturosmenardi it's implied if he seriously fight he would at least equal to baroque words top agents as he survive months in impel down without much wear and oda himself said if he seriously train he would be equal to shanks.
I've thought about this, if Buggy has awakened his devil fruit, it could give him the power to "chop" up other inanimate objects like swords, or maybe even bullets, but also whole battle ships with a single touch.
I get the feeling that Buggy, having been on Roger's ship, knew what it take to become Pirate King. He concluded that he didn't have it. He also may have thought that it didn't matter how strong you get, cause your number will eventually come up.
I am also okay with Buggy getting the One Piece, or at least when Luffy finds the One Piece, there's a reason why he just wants to be free and gives whatever it is to Buggy to gain the title of Pirate King of the World (Luffy just wants to be free and also be with his crew and adventuring the world).
@@jaroslavkoukal193 Yes, that charisma is part of who he is, and what Mihawk finds terrifying. I really fail to see why you started your comment with a "but"

Imagine the military might of the big mom pirates or the beast pirates, but it's just the crew and commanders without the captain. That's the equivalent power of buggy now with his company which is probably why he's now an emperor.
@@lalaalala1 1. The commanders are not weak, they just aren't on the level of Luffy and co. Which makes sense as they're a very small crew of specialists 2. This is exactly why the grand fleet was a necessary step for Luffy, as much as he didn't want it. 3. Even in the raid on onigashima they needed the samurai otherwise how would the key players have reached the commanders and kaido.
Tin hat theory : What if shanks entrusted buggy in staying in the east blue in order to pretty much wait for Luffy and the whole buggy act is just for show? He could be a mastermind for all we know.
I'm calling that if Buggy ever awakens his devil fruit, it will allow him to separate other things/people at the atomic level (aka atom bombs). Gives a whole new meaning to "Bombastic" Buggy, turning a gag character into a legit yonko level threat 🧨
Luck. The fact he was on Rogers ship getting out. Those high level pirates from impel down. Former warlord status. He got everything going for him and rode the wave all the way to yonko. But still I wanna know exactly how he got there in the time it took for Luffy to beat kaido

I think everybody is missing the fact that ODA probably set buggy up as an Emperor so that luffy has a future ally in the great war at the end. Buggy has a big following and he's already friends with luffy, so he'll probably bring his crew to help luffy. Maybe buggy and shanks have a conversation before shanks dies... (if he dies).. and shanks tells him he has to help luffy for Rogers dream... who knows... but thats my take on Buggy becoming emperor
Buggy represents the fall of the system and the dilution of its symbols: when he became a Shichibukai, it was dissolved soon after (took us years worth of chapters) and the former warlords lost their prestige. Now, there is only one threat among the Yonkou left, there is nothing to squeeze out of the Emperors system anymore, now there is only leftovers, and the character of Buggy represents that, the shadow of what once was great (like the legendary Captain John's treasure he keeps searching for)
My theory is that we don’t see buggy’s true strength until someone makes fun of Rogers/shanks in front of him. Then we will see Buggy’s conquers Haki unleash. As that would tie Buggy to the story of Rogers: destroying a whole village because someone made fun of his crew-mate. As buggy would be pissed and make buggy get serious. Remember Haki is linked to one’s ambition and buggy has never been fully serious throughout the story.
And we also have to remember what is Buggy's true strength in combat. Buggy is more akin to Ussop and Franky when it comes to combat, he made himself great weapons taht let him fight with monsters, so even if he doesn't get Haki or an Awakening, he could surprise us all the next time we see him fight. A single ship where all the cannonballs are Buggy Balls has as much firepower as a Buster Call, what could they do if he improved the recipe in those 2 years?
this can be a good character but not buggy imo, it's just not hinted that buggy cares much about shanks or roger, if he gets angry about that it'll just be weird, i'd rather he get mad about someone taking his treasure and in return he annihilates a full kingdom
I’m convinced Buggy actually has a Shiningami / reaper mythical Zoan. That’s why he’s always avoiding death and the chop chop power comes from the reaper’s scythe
Maybe his immunity to being cut is reflected in his soul; like zoro being confronted by death, thats what Buggy encounters when hes almost caught by the Marines, and that's when he awakens, as the reapers scythe itself can't even cut him....you have to insta kill dude basically 😳
Favorite main character of a manga Probably senku Also thanks for that 1st video talking about dr stone, got me hooked and then i also hooked my friend and girlfriend on it, and i will keep spreading it
Buggy could literally use Law's power to separate humans to pieces but without stamina drainage that Law's "room" requires if awakened. Devastating power since you can't use sword fueled with haki to attack him therefore only physical haki contact is required which would lead to high chances of him dismembering you with a single touch.
Given that Mihawk is known as "the world's greatest swordsman" and we know he dueled Shanks frequently in the past, we can use Mihawk as a good measuring stick for strength in the series. You have to be Yonko level to compete with Mihawk. And only two characters in the series were shown to be able to tank Mihawk's attacks like the were nothing: Whitebeard and Buggy. Not only that but Buggy was on Roger's crew, helped lead the escape from Impel Down as well as led those escaped prisoners to fighting during Marineford, and was even a Shichibukai. Buggy has the feats to justify his Yonko status. Anyone who disagrees hasn't been reading the series and their rage is their own fault. They need to actually READ the series instead of whining.
Pretty sure WB never got hit by mihawk, jozu (who to be fair is already really strong) and has one of if not the best DF for defense in the series blocked it.
Buggy's story is honestly insane. Starting as a basic crewmate on the ship of the KING OF PIRATES, then vanishing somewhere into the eastblue (very close to Luffy's hometown, and the place where shanks, Buggy's old pal, used to hang out. Coincidence? I THINK NOT) then getting captured by marines after getting struck by lighting, cursed by the heavens themselves, survived months in Imple Down, managed to escape, straight into the war at marineford, then became a warlord of the sea, and now an Emperor?? Also: kind of insane how 3 out of the 4 current emperor's are/have been friends and/or allies at some point in the story. Also: Trust in Oda. He is going to make this work. Buggy deserved 100% the title of Warlord of the sea. I guarantee that there is a good reason why he is considered an emperor now. Not saying that he deserves it, but there is a reason.
Correction, Buggy escaped and then later partied with Ace on the Grandline. He was arrested after walking into a Marine Garrison thinking it was where Captain Johns treasure was hidden.
Here's some food for thought: Buggy's Bara Bara no mi gives him immunity to slashing attacks, mirroring Luffy's immunity to blunt force attacks. Now that it's known that Luffy's fruit is a mythical zoan it wouldn't be too unrealistic that he actually had a fruit called the Hito Hito no mi: model Shichifukujin (or maybe some other fortune deity) where the ability to split his body into multiple piece is a manifestation of the the fact that the shichifukujin are 7 deities thus 7 parts of one devil fruit.
Real talk. Buggy either has better armament than Mihawk or observation on the level of Katakuri to break himself apart in time to avoid his sword. Either way that’s pretty impressive.
Or, it could just be that his devil fruit works whenever he is actively cut by something, period. A haki-enfused slash is still a slash. Haki doesn't negate devil fruit powers, just bypasses their defenses. If the chop-chop fruit splits automatically whenever it is cut, then even a haki-enfused slash wouldn't hurt him... because it never actually hits him.
Doesnt Buggy already know exactly what the OP is? I think his lack of desire (as far as we've seen) is more indicative of his lack of interest in it. He's always raving about finding treasure like gold but hasnt ever said he wants to find the OP. I doubt he'll be an antagonist in terms of vying for the OP but he might help out Luffy by accident or have a "friendly competition" by going on the same treasure hunt as him for some intermediary stage treasure that would point the way towards the OP
The man who Roger was waiting for was indeed a apprentice of Roger Buggy D. Clown!! Mark my words buggy will be the man who will find the one piece. He will travel onto laughtale and discover the true history.
To quote Mihawk: "It's not a devil fruit or some cheap trick. One by one he turns the people around him into his allies. More than anyone else on the seas that man posseses the most terrifying power."
maybe it’s like the two sides of the coin with Buggy and Shanks being on Roger’s crew as apprentices. It can either be looked at like ‘oh i was on the king of the pirates ship and traveled the world, learning from him! now i must go surpass him!’ or, ‘oh, i was on the king of the pirates ship and traveled the world, learning from him. how am i ever supposed to live up to that?’ cuz you experience first hand just how tough it is, and how strong you have to be. and depending on your personality, it could either motivate you, or ruin you
So my theory is that as Buggy, Cabaji, Mohji and Alvida were fleeing, the mercenaries decimated the marine fleet with minimal casualties on their end. After that the world government thought "he decimated our fleet without even sending in his top officers. This guy is dangerous."
I kind of see this as a perfect way to play into the plot of One Piece. Luffy is moving up his way through the world, facing the supposedly invincible hierarchy without fear. The Emperors themselves have been developed over the years and shown that they aren’t this flawless, insurmountable force as we had been believed to be. They’re shown to be as crass, shortsighted, and petty as any other pirate. All they have to set them apart is sheer power. What better way to show that Luffy is succeeding in conquering the old, broken world order than to see that the comic relief characters has taken the place of an Emperor? To someone who doesn’t know him, he’s probably seen as intimidating as Kaido and Big Mom were to us before we caught up with them.
10:00 "Normal" paramecia fruits allow the user to control a or create and control a substance. I always thought Luffy's fruit was different because it actually turned his body into another substance. I think there will be a twist with Buggy's devil fruit as well because it doesn't work like most paramecia fruits work.
That seems way too thin of a criteria. What then do we make of Baby 5's fruit, or Wapole's, Mr. One's, etc. There are many paramecia fruits that affect the user's body directly. The big difference between them and Luffy has seemed to be the fact that Luffy is permanently rubber rather than having the power to transform into rubber.
I view Buggy sort of like King from One-Punch Man. King is comic relief and a whole bunch of luck too, but it didn't bother me then, even though he's an S-Class, so Buggy being an Emperor, which is comparable to a degree, doesn't bother me either.
If Haki blooms in stressful situations, maybe Buggy accidentally got a Haki bloom or even a devil fruit awakening when trying to sneak away from the marines. Imagine in a state of panic his AOE suddenly expanding and being able to effect the marines and their ships causing utter chaos amongst them. A feat like that would definitely have earned him the Yonko title even if he didn’t know what he was doing at the moment.
I mean just think if buggy awakened his fruit, he can literally turn entire islands to pieces and make them pop out of existence. So just imagine buggy pulls up to the red line where marie jois is, and turns the whole thing into pieces.
It be really hilarious if buggy's adevil fruit awakening is secretly the most op power in the series, but in all seriousness I had a thought that with Blackbeard devil fruit hunting would draw attention towards luffy's once he finds out it's true nature and would want to have it for himself.
Buggy's devil fruit awakening will probably make him very powerful. My theory is that his awakening will make him split anything he wants even atoms making nuclear explosions making him worthy of the Yonko status which is why Oda made him Yonko.
If Buggy awoke his fruit, he'd be amazingly powerful in groups. Imagine the amazingness of a group of like 30 pirates all with chop-chop fruit powers. If he developed his haki, he'd be ridiculously powerful with an awakening. I would love to see them actually make Buggy powerful, particularly in groups, which is what he seems to be able to put together really well. He could go from being comic relief to being incredibly powerful in the blink of a moment. And in the War of All Wars, Buggy may be able to take away Luffy's one big weakness, slashing attacks.
You asked who our favorite main character is, which is a hard question based on how many anime I've watched at this point in my life, but my first thought for shonen is Yusuke Yurameshi. Big fan of Justin Cook's voice acting for him, and his overall style is something that you don't see done that well that often.
I think Oda os showing the two paths to the One Piece. Luffy and Buggy are both charismatic characters who draw people in (albeit with some large fiction from Buggy’s side) and can create a large following. The difference is the reason behind the fame garnered and who is the most deserving in the end. I think there is a big possibility of a redemption arc for Buggy and he will be a massive ally for Luffy in the final war arc.
I wonder what Shanks' reaction was to seeing his step brother/childhood friend suddenly become an Emperor. I can imagine him being proud of Luffy, but what about Buggy?
the way it makes sense to me is his actions from Impel Down through Marineford showed the public what he is capable of as well as his ties to Roger and Shanks, as well as his accolades as a warlord. but what i think happened since its the only event we still don't know about is when shanks spoke to the gorosei about "a certain pirate" and that might have been buggy. the warlords were then abolished and they sent about a dozen or so ships after him and he managed to get away. there has to be something about him that shanks knows that the audience doesn't for it to make sense otherwise why would he be an emperor instead of just having a really high bounty
I've been thinking it has something to do with buggy finally finding captain johns treasure and whatever that would entail whether its a large amount of wealth or some sort of powerful weapon he can use to increase his influence to the point of being an emperor
He's already got probably the second biggest fleet besides luffy. A background as a roger pirate, and as an escapee of impel down. Meanwhile some of the warlords are singleton people
Buggy can’t be killed that’s kind of OP, he can separate his body whenever he’s attacked. And he has the ability to gain followers, he has a ton of crew members who were impel down prisoners
Yeah but level 2 and 1 level 5... Buggy is a joke and without a broken power up it makes no sense why the WG would make him a Yonko... any yonko commander could solo his entire crew...
Buggy is the living embodiment of faking it until you make it’ and no one can tell me otherwise. I wasn’t even that surprised when I found out. Just assumed he racked up an insane crew by that point.
Don’t forget he is an amazing counter to sword wielders (without haki), which are the majority of people in the story. One of the reasons Luffy beat him was because he was a brawler. We still don’t know Buggy’s current capability because we haven’t seen improved speed or haki. If you think about it, he’s kind of like Hancock who easily wipes out most men (albeit usually fodder) in the story.
And don't forget that one of his strongest points is his capacity as a Chemist.
He counters sword users with haki as well. Buggy has the ability to split his own body parts and swords cover such a small area it doesn't take a lot of time to make a small split for the sword to slide through.
@@mentalpopcorn2304 Hol' up a minute... If it was a normal slash, then it would have simply separated the body normally. But if it is a slash with Armament Haki, it should be able to cut his real body, beyond the benefits of his Devil Fruit, in the same way that people can punch Luffy and hurt him. BUT. We know that Logias don't turn into their Element automatically, they do it manually, so you can hit them when they are physical but not when they turn into their Element. But they can do it in response to an attack taht they know it's coming, be that they simply saw it coming, or because they have Observation Haki... Could it be... That Buggy had Observation Haki all along? Maybe he has it, even if to a small extent, and he didn't even know? And this is what lets him separate his body even against swords with Haki?
I mean they can just punch him, pretty sure mihawk is physically strong too look how strong zoro is physically Who said his devil fruit is immune to swords with haki? People are just wanking the powers too much
best guesses on what happened with Buggy imo : Buggy really stepped up power-wise when the marine tried to capture him, got away, to then become the captain that he is supposed to be ; Ran into Mihawk while fleeing and pulled a classic Buggy by posing as the one that beat the Marine ; Somehow found himself in the middle of whatever Blackbeard was doing and somehow was credited with some sort of misdeed harming the World Government Somehow managed to take Kaido's place as one of the most important person in the underworld Buggy's down to have one of the best character arc by the time the story ends
Godzilla lore whooo whooo!!!! Please do Kaiju stuff in the future 😝 As for why Buggy is an Emperor, I think you did a solid job of explaining it. Just not How lol
I think buggy has one of the most over powered devil fruits when used properly like a puppet master or something but oda purposely made him the way he is so he can't take over the show lol. Unless shanks and buggy are like a Kakashi and obito who pretends to be a weak and scared tobi then all of a sudden he's strong af 🤣
Maybe Buggy is awakened and just doesn't know it. He subconsciously awakened his fruit on Rogers's ship when Shiki was attacking. His chop-chop powers started to work on a metaphysical level and "chop" out all the bad luck in his life, resulting in super plot armor. That is why the storm saved Roger from Shiki, not because of Rogers's destiny but because of Buggy's latent powers. This is also why Buggy lost to Luffy in the east blue and why Luffy was saved from being killed by Buggy on the scaffold. It was not Luffy's good luck or Dragon's powers that brought the lightning down and saved Luffy, but rather Buggy's good luck. If Buggy had killed Luffy in East Blue, then: 1. He would have Grap, Dragon, Ace, and Shanks very pissed off at him. and 2. He would have never gone back to the grandline, and he would have always stayed a small-time pirate. So all this time, the Plot armor was never with the Strawhats or Roger but was Buggy's subconscious powers "chopping" out the bad luck from Buggy's life.
Whether you love it or hate it. You have to admit. Buggy has the property's of both comedy relief and overwhelming power all in one! His fruit is only futher proof. Against the best swordsmen even buggy is just too OP.
Buggy already did the whole ‘got the one piece first’ thing in stampede. Don’t feel like Oda would have blown that gag on a movie if he planned to use it for real. But maybe it’s a outward bluff, everytime we think buggy can’t possibly get more involved he will. And the rule will never change. Who knows
Here's to all those who have watched this man so long that he feels like one of your friends. Been watching since the OG Bleach reviews and still loving the channel.
Maybe.... just maybe... the world government discovered that Buggy is the only person who actually know where exactly the One Piece is precisely. He is just too afraid to get it for himself since it would attract a lot of enemies to him( and maybe is somewhere very dangerous). Also the simple reason why he is an emperor could simply be due to the fact that he controls enough peoples in such a widespread area to run an actual empire
Buggy's awakening would be Gildarts power in fairytail and we all know how powerful that was. And it would be a great connection considering Gildarts was pretty much a shanks copy LOL
He's litteraly a clown
He's a disgrace to Roger
Buggy has shown that he has the potential to be extremely dangerous. Sure, he got to the peak of the pirate world through dumb luck and bluffs, but the fact that he has managed to survive this long proves he has some level of talent.
The problem is that he never really had the drive to capitalize on his resources. He just gets opportunities handed to him and rolls with it rather than improve himself or use his resources for a goal.
He’s a joke now, but only because he never had the drive to grow into his station.

I also agree that Buggy is a great character but that doesn’t shine through until Impel Down
Also shameless plug: One Piece with a Lime
Lets see Buggy has
Sailed with Gol D Roger
Attained a DF that has made him immune to all slashing attacks
Has fought ALL of the current Yonko and lived
A HIGHLY accomplished background in chemistry and explosives
Has nearly killed one the current Yonko who is also a God and the aon of Dragon and the son of Garp
Tanked lighting
Outwitted Impel Down and orchestrated a break out (he escaped his cell before Luffy even really entered and was smart enough to hide the fact that he had Devil Fruit that made him immune to a good deal of the torture.)
Successfully managed to break out Impel Down (with a little help from Luffy)
Managed to create a miniature Bomb that has the power to level towns and damage Awakened Zoans
Got one of Desert King Crocodiles subordinates to switch over to his side
Managed to have several hundred notorious criminals (even a few from level 5 ) follow his leader ship
Was a star player in the Marineford War
Fought Dracule Mihawk to a draw
Tanked a point blank explosion that leveled a town
Made an alliance with Whitebeard who recognized his strength and saw joining him a better bet than fighting him
Confronted and showed the world he stands on equal levels with Red Haired Shanks (before Buggy even became a Yonko himself)
Went against all the Admirals and survived (Dodge Kizaru's Laser, Akainu's Magma Fists, chilled out with Aokiji)
Managed to be so accomplished that the WG recognized him and begged him to become a Warlord
Used his wits and intelligence to capitalize on the immunity he had as a Warlord and built up a Pirate Network that had presumably hundreds if not thousands under his commands, even having ACTUAL GIANTS work for him, something Big Mom couldn't achieve.
I love this way of thinking.
This is why Buggy D Clown is the future king of the pirates
So it's quantity not quality
based
Too bad he stumbled into 85% of that
I always thought of it as shanks viewed Roger's death as a "I'm gonna live up to Roger's legacy" and buggy views it as a "roger was an unstoppable titan of a man and still died so what chance do I have" so buggy went to the weakest sea being the east blue so he can still enjoy being a pirate without encountering strong pirates or marines. He never trained or got stronger cause his God figure of a captain still lost his life so he didn't think he could ever reach Roger's level or anyone near Roger.
very nice introspection.
This deep
This is 100% accurate. If you read the Manga cover page stories with buggy, you can actually see each part of his journey
Including chapter 53, exactly 1000 chapters ago where he points at luffy bounty, indicating they will both be very important figures in the future
@@jeffjohnny8107 this is observation haki.
essentially the two main ways people deal with bad situations
Shanks relresents those who try to make the most of it and crawl above, recover and get better
Buggy is those who arent able to recover as well and decide to give up and stay low afraid of it happening again
He's always been relatively informed about stuff, but lacked any real motivation.
yes. Shanks whanted Buggy in his crew becaus Buggy is strong.
Him & Shanks but highly doubt that stopped him from pirating. Buggy knew Roger was going to die anyway.
Roger would be ashamed of the loser he's become
I agree of you pull back and forget about him being a gag character you a person with so much potential to be great
I wouldn’t put this entirely on Roger’s death.
Reality warping.
Buggy warps reality
Who's the real OP main character?! Lol 🤪🤡
I think the reason buggy is so weak is because he never wanted status in his pirate career so he never got stronger, instead he wanted treasure and gold so he focused on that. He's probably a great quarter master and treasure hunter.
Absolutely!
thing is we have zero proof that buggys weak..his fights are pure gags and very quick lol he could very well be one of the strongest characters

Honestly if it's revealed that Buggy is actually called Buggy D Clown i wouldn't be surprised
Unfortunately not. in Japanese, he is called Douke no Buggy, unlike Gold Roger
Would that mean he's related to Caesar Clown?
Would be something
I think Buggy was always training his abilities once he put on the giant outfit. That constant stretch/dismemberment was hard training and possibly lead to him learning a lot of new tricks or even Awakening.
His crew is notorious, he had giants at one point, his main crew is a damn near carbon-copy of the Rock's crew back in the day (but in meme format) and his luck is........ unfathomable
Plus he's got a weapons training company that basically picked up the slack when Doflamingo got punched out of his place of power.

The guy's potential is UNBOUNDED
Ngl that's a pretty scary thought
@Crashed wtf
Buggy PTSD would make me just lay in my bed for eternity, Imagine watching so much insane fighting that you just see it as normal.

Luffy at the centre*
Luffys mentor
Luffys rival
Luffys former enemy current troll
the thing is Buggy was literally telling his men to stall the Marines so he could escape, he was thinking to betray his own, how could he become a Yonko from that? That's the problem, I think either Shanks or Blackbeard helped Buggy to escape from Marines, they collected all other Shichibukai under Buggy and one of them probably made Buggy Yonko, and Marines had no choice since they lost the battles.
or maybe he found the ancient weapon from the map Shanks gave him
I feel like, in a lot of ways, this feeds into the duality of Shanks and Buggy.
I like this theory
I think you are forgetting that the cp9 already existed, and had a leader who was no stronger than an average marine. Unlike buggy his subordinates, and everyone knew he was weak, but he was effective as a leader. So he was trusted by even the admirals.
@@jamesdecost6009 Spandam was anything but a good leader and everyone in CP9 hated him XD
Dude got his job because of nepotism
@@rorank While you see... Buggy has more prominence in the story than Shanks so... :P
And that's not where his Economic Influence and Power ends.

He has some truly amazing weapons he himself created, that countries could be kissing his booths to buy even in small quantities.
Buggy gonna be the one that split the redline with his awakened df
9:30 It’s neither relegated nor delegated. Neither of those words make any sense. The word you’re probably looking for is reserved.
Buggy never trained a day in his life until just recently.
He trained for 4 months and, due to his high latent potential, was able to get as strong as gok...err, I mean post-Wano Luffy.
nah hes goku level at worst
With his father Cold Roger and his brother Cooler (in the South Pole)‚ he will attain his golden form (by bathing in Cpt John's treasure) and take over the world!
My prediction is that Buggy did something that caused the Marines to think the other Former Warlords work for him.
Would an alliance like that be stronger than a yonkou crew? Mihawk can probably take on any of the yonkos 1 on 1. The rest can likely handle a crew
@Bruno Caruso false, we know about the legendary battles between mihawk and shanks from whitebeard. so yea its confirmed that mihawk is yonkou level

We are constantly blinded by basically dragons and gods punching each other with such strength that they rip the sky apart, but technology and weapons are still a HUGE asset.

And that was 2 years ago, what could he have now?
This 👍
I've had a theory for a while about how Buggy could've became the Emperor and it all has to do with Captain John's treasure.
Imagine Buggy ends up actually creating the crew of Warlords
That would be possibly the funniest thing of One Piece
Zoro is being trained by someone on BUGGYS CREW😂
ohh shit. I sure hope Jinbei and Law don't defect to his side.
Nah Boa ain't Joining any man that isn't luffy
might be onto smthn with this, what if rayleigh basically just pulled up to Buggy's island and was jus like "yo I'm dropping off the warlords here brb". (Well I can see not ALL warlords but Boa, Mihawk, basically whoever knows the Straw Hats and hasn't gotten smacked)
@@AE-or7xd we all know boa went to find the strawhat grand fleet just to find luffy
Buggy just grabs their toe and puts it on sea stone and BAM there goes Blackbeard.
yoo, thats what i was thinking as well!
Unfortunately that idea is easily countered with a combination of obs and arm haki.
Obs to detect where he'll cut and arm to create a "cage" around that area to stop the effect.

Idk, I like buggy being a yonko but not king being an S class
If Haki blooms in stressful situations, maybe Buggy accidentally got a Haki bloom or even a devil fruit awakening when trying to sneak away from the marines. Imagine in a state of panic his AOE suddenly expanding and being able to effect the marines and their ships causing utter chaos amongst them. A feat like that would definitely have earned him the Yonko title even if he didn’t know what he was doing at the moment.
Imagine just splitting ships instantly or buildings or the ground, maybe the sky?....
I mean just think if buggy awakened his fruit, he can literally turn entire islands to pieces and make them pop out of existence. So just imagine buggy pulls up to the red line where marie jois is, and turns the whole thing into pieces.
Bruh nooooooo. Ewwwww 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
buggy d clown was responsable for god valleys vanishing
Doubt that
I love how we all have been joking about Buggy being op over the years and Oda was just like be careful what you wish for and drops chapter 1053 xD
Very true
Facts
He has obviously ascended to mastering all forms of haki and awakened to his advanced devil fruit. He can now segment anything like Law, would be OP.
It's likely hes the one that told them to put buggy in the yonko seat
the way it makes sense to me is his actions from Impel Down through Marineford showed the public what he is capable of as well as his ties to Roger and Shanks, as well as his accolades as a warlord. but what i think happened since its the only event we still don't know about is when shanks spoke to the gorosei about "a certain pirate" and that might have been buggy. the warlords were then abolished and they sent about a dozen or so ships after him and he managed to get away. there has to be something about him that shanks knows that the audience doesn't for it to make sense otherwise why would he be an emperor instead of just having a really high bounty
Meanwhile some of the warlords are singleton people
I think buggy awakened his fruit, then just became gildarts from fairy tail and then probably accidentally destroyed a fleet of marines.
Buggy becoming a yonko is simple.
He found captain john's treasure.
You can't convince me that Mihawk doesn't have Haki, and Buggy was immune to Mihawk's attacks too.
I mean they can just punch him, pretty sure mihawk is physically strong too look how strong zoro is physically
Who said his devil fruit is immune to swords with haki? People are just wanking the powers too much
What if buggy was purposefully given the title by the marines, so that when they capture him, the marines look really good and in control?
best guesses on what happened with Buggy imo :
Buggy really stepped up power-wise when the marine tried to capture him, got away, to then become the captain that he is supposed to be ;
Ran into Mihawk while fleeing and pulled a classic Buggy by posing as the one that beat the Marine ;
Somehow found himself in the middle of whatever Blackbeard was doing and somehow was credited with some sort of misdeed harming the World Government
Somehow managed to take Kaido's place as one of the most important person in the underworld
Buggy's down to have one of the best character arc by the time the story ends
Godzilla lore whooo whooo!!!! Please do Kaiju stuff in the future 😝
As for why Buggy is an Emperor, I think you did a solid job of explaining it. Just not How lol
I love this video. You don't see many unironic/nonmeme videos about Buggy
Buggy is definitely throwing. He admires his Haki teacher.
If Buggy had killed Luffy in East Blue, then:
1. He would have Grap, Dragon, Ace, and Shanks very pissed off at him.
and
2. He would have never gone back to the grandline, and he would have always stayed a small-time pirate.
So all this time, the Plot armor was never with the Strawhats or Roger but was Buggy's subconscious powers "chopping" out the bad luck from Buggy's life.
One of the worst theory, If not the worst.
@@leftkout5129 If there is a theory full of more BS than mine please let me know so I can study and learn from it.
Who knows
Would 100% read a spin off of one piece with buggy being the MC
Maybe Buggy’s bakery did really well and now all the other villains have joined his bakery and that’s why Buggy is a yonko
Remember Mihawk himself stated how even luffys most dangerous power was his ability to gather people around him
Buggy's awakening would be Gildarts power in fairytail and we all know how powerful that was. And it would be a great connection considering Gildarts was pretty much a shanks copy LOL
