- Aural comparison of famous melodies from Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring and Queen's We are the Champions. Read more about this here: mmmusing.blogspot.com/2021/01...

only took 3 years for these secrets to be revealed to the public
Stravinsky himself didn't invent the melody. He simply massaged the melody of very old russian folk song
With that kind of profile pic you should know that it was a Lithuanian, not russian folk song.
@@satnnec1495 Haha, good point 😁
@@satnnec1495 At the time of composition, Lithuania was a Russian territory.
@@user-sm9gd5eu8g Territory and folk are not the same thing.
@@deboutcompagnie2981 That's understandable, but
I think Stravinsky himself used this folk song because it was a folk song from his own country.
a most impressive revelation
i have ALWAYS heard that whenever i heard the rite of spring solo.
Why havent u told me?
Interesting.....never really picked up on this before, but there it is !
Great! However, there is much more evident similarity of "Champions" refrain and "March of Enthusiasts" by Isaac Dunayevsky (at "Пламя души своей, знамя страны своей"). Looks like Freddie once specially studied Russian and Soviet music.
This is so amazing. Keep going.
A HUGE number of musical themes are copied. The Moonlight Sonata theme is ripped from Don Giovanni, Jesus Christ Superstar theme is from Strauss Vier Letzte Lieder . . . This is nothing new, and since there are only 12 notes in the scale it is not surprising.
I think it's coincidence not copied in this case
12 notes are a lot of notes. And there are not only the notes, but also other parameters like duration, tempo, and harmony
Ever since I learned that the Smoke On The Water riff is uncannily similar to a latin jazz tune I just tend to roll my eyes with a "whatever" attitude to musical similarities. Just about every famous musical figure from classical to rock/ pop has some music that can be considered unoriginal. Musical soundalikes can be blatant theft, they can be subconcious borrowing or they can be pure coincidence. We'll never know.
This is simply amazing lol

YOOOOOO WHAT LOL

This is a stretch
