Recently got the pen myself it does fit in the fancy spartan metal case for anyone here googling that since this video comes up also i agree with this video alot i think the pen could use w firmware update to make it work better with some apps but it does work well i enjoy it more than the capacitive the shutter button is the main feature for me get it for pictures and only for art if you do ALOT. Its a bitch to get one not alot of places carry it at this point so if you need one for your photo taking and dont upgrade phones alot its worth it if you trade phones in alot or dont do alot of art and photography it is not worth it use the cheaper versions 5-20 dollars vs 120-180ish
I often feel like my calm and chill personality is not entertaining or good enough for TH-cam, so this comment definitely encourages me to keep going! Thank you very much 🙏🏿🙏🏿.
Thank you. I have a S24U and a TabS 9 Ultra, so trying the One Plus Open, I started to think about the OPPO pen. But for 100.00 on Ebay I decided I will just use a capacitance pen. Less worry about screen damage etc and frankly it does what I want.
Hi can you please confirm which stylus are you using with oneplus open? I also don't want to spend 90 GBP on a pen lol. But coming from a galaxy ultra i really miss the spen.
@AM107. Oh another thing I wanted to mention The case I currently have on my OnePlus open included a front screen cover protector and while I have no issues with my fingers registering taps I am not sure if that is in any way reducing the tap of the capacitive pen.
I'm a little late to the party, but I just ordered a OPO today to replace my Fold 5 and wanted something to like the S Pen. I found the OPPO stylus online for $150 shipped, which seemed okay to me considering what Samsung charges for the S Pen.
Hi there, how do I use screen off note on my one plus open? Im using the original Oppo pen but it's not allowing me to write notes whilst the screen is off even though the option is there in my settings 😕
Well for the average user i think it would be good. Scrolling and selecting to get precision clicks. But doesnt appear to have a screen Shot option to only select a specific part pf the screen using the stylus like spen/galaxy does.
Yeah, it can definitely be a good experience for the average user. And you can't select like you can with an s pen, but you can still edit the screenshot after taking it, so there's that, I guess.
I'm interested in fold for sketching outside and such. QUESTION: Does Fold 6 or Oneplus Open get scratches and dents from sketching and drawing? If you tap on layer settings a lot and sketch back and forth with the pen..
thanks for the review, i have only one question, if i only carry the pen (without chargin cradle) the battery drains in 13 hours? even if i don´t use it, ( I would keep it in my shirt pocket until I need to use it.) or it drains only if i use it?
So it uses Bluetooth? I though it uses electromagnetic induction. That is that is doesn't need charging, I don't want the buttons to work, will is still work if its out of battery, like open works without one at all
@melodyofloveinblood it uses Bluetooth for the extra functions like taking a screenshot. I'm pretty sure it doesn't necessarily need Bluetooth to work, but thats how they pair it and get it to activate itself.
is there a way turn on/off the oppo pen? i notice it keeps dying even when i don't use it much, so it gets a littlle annoying when i can't use the pen bc of battery drainage and need to go back home to charge it
This is an imaginative thought, but it would be sick it if there was a pen that functioned almost like a Wiimote or Joycon - wireless writing after a quick positioning and calibration. Don't even need to touch the phone. This isn't already a thing, right?
This is the comparison i was looking for. Awesome!

Excellent review ! Thank you very much. Love the honesty. And love the fact that you have calm voice (so many people yell on YT). 🙏

Thanks Jamal, I’m looking to upgrade my Z Fold 4 this year so I’m weighing all of my options. OnePlus is on my options list.

@@LouisCaputo 150 is a good price considering how rare it is and how much people try to sell it for.
Where did you get it?
Where did you buy the pen?

I have noticed slight marks from using the s pen, but they go away after a while. There’s no real damage done as long as you’re not being excessive.
@@JamaltLee alright, how about the OnePlus Open? Basically which one of these two has a better inner screen, more durable in a longer run?
Where did you get the oppo pen? I can't find it anywhere
I got it from someone locally through kijiji

@@alpacino1976 I believe it has a low power mode when you're not using it, so the battery should last more than 13 hours if you weren't using it.

what magsafe ring is that on your phone i got some crappy ones that did not last the adhesive wore off

Can you share link to buy it ?
Its pretty hard to find, and they're mostly overpriced online. You could check eBay or something to see if you find any.
Where did you get the oppo pen
Bought it off of someone locally through Kijiji
Will this work with one plus 12 or 13 ?
Unfortunately, not because they don't have the necessary technology built into their screens.
Where did u buy it from? Link plz!!
I met up with someone who was selling it locally. Your best bet is that or ebay or something like that.
Does the pen works on any OPPO or just this one ?
I think the only other phones it will work on are the Oppo Find N3, and the Oppo Find N 2.
Where to buy it???
@konrad433 i found mine locally on kijiji, but you could check ebay or something. There's no official store outside of china I think.

Yeah thats not a thing right now. The samsung S pen has motion gestures, but they're not exactly a wiimote or joycon. Would be sick though!
Is there a palm rejection feature?
Yes
@JamaltLee Jamal always coming through. Happy new year.
