Only problem is every time you restart your phone any changes you made in developer options will go back to default.

Why does android require developer mode to access these features? All the features I have changed so far in Dev mode have been very useful. It it because the features aren't tested and can be buggy?

I keep missing messages as its just one very short buzz.
Its fine when I receive a call or something, but not for texts, I have googled and scoured the settings but it doesn't seem to be customisable like my previous androids..

I literally returned my OnePlus Open a couple days ago because of this exact issue and a few others. But this was a big annoyance for me. O well, I will wait a bit longer to see what other devices pop up. I still have my Fold 5 and Pixel fold.
you can have 3 multitask open side by side with a floating window or 2 side by side with one open canvas with a floating window.
I wonder if there is a way to do this for floating windows as well? I know the Samsung Fold has that (Instagram is the best example) but the Oneplus Open does not.

But there is still one bug won't be fixed which is if you try to open the sittings window with another app it takes you directly to wifi section you can't even exit it if you try it takes you back to it .. Very disappointed, if there is a way to fix it please post it
Hi shane, may i ask you if you think the OnePlus Open 2 will be released in august of this year as the Oneplus Open 1 was originally planned to be released in august 2023? But because they were not happy with the screen they pushed the release date to october 2023. Thanks
Hey Shane I did the same thing as you update to the Indian version of the Android 14 for One Plus Open I see there is a update for March have you updated it the same way?
I was hoping this would fix how Work Apps (apps running under Android Work profile for my company) function in Open Canvas. No such luck. A work app can be full screen or floating, but can't be in split screen with another app.
Since update 14 has anyone noticed a faster drop in battery? I’m not talking about a significant drain but a slightly faster decrease (no settings have been changed since or after I updated)
I can't actually resize them manually. Even with the settings. The two apps will only snap to their preset sizes. Which is super frustrating imo. I guess this makes all apps capable of multitasking but I can't fine tune each app which bugs me
Did you know you can have 3 multitabs and a floating window at the same time so basically have 4 tabs
Hey I've had my OnePlus open for about a week now, absolutely love the thing l, although the mountain of settings really makes it difficult to find something I've enabled by accident and now cannot find. But my main question being is the accessibility button. It's this floating semi transparent button that I enabled thinking I would use but never did and now I can't find the settings it's linked to, and no matter what I've searched nothing has showed up, if you know anything about it I would appreciate the heads-up.
Settings - additional settings (towards the bottom a bit)- accessibility right in the middle of the phone on the cover screen. 💓

There is talk of Oppo making some similar AI features, so it's certainly possible.
I use android auto in my car by plugging in a cable into my OnePlus open. But after the Android 14 update, the connection is not working anymore. Anyone else had this issue?
That's not actually a OnePlus problem, that's a Google problem. For years they never had a proper full screen mode for TH-cam, it was just zoom to fill the screen. One of the reasons why rooting and using Dev Options was a fix for getting apps to behave how you wanted it to. Now there is hardly ever any need to. Some companies will make their apps knowing the change in hardware and make use of it and others will take their time in making those changes.
I don't really buy that. OEMs can change whatever they want. Look at Open Canvas. Totally reworked the split screen system. They couldn't enable all apps being resizable? lol. Samsung managed just fine. Either way, easy to fix.
@@scaryifliteral I actually use a samsung and for years TH-cam was only Zoom and not proper full screen. I had pop out windows before they were even a thing because i had it rooted lol yeah ok whatever.

Weird how this isn't enabled by default. It would just be mirroring what would be displayed on the cover screen.

Looks to be a foldable issue. It doesn't work on any folding phone I try it on. Could be the app sees it as a tablet and that feature is not available for tablets for some reason.
This does not help with top-bottom split though. Apps like TH-cam Revanced can be resized in left-right split, but not in top-bottom split. It is still inconsistent.
