A few have mentioned issues with the bed fly popping off the pole spigots in windy situations. An easy solution to this, which we will do a future video on, is to use tarp buddies. You simply clamp onto the top of the pole once you slide it through the eyelet on the bed fly. Caravanmods also sell these - link below:

Tarp buddies with an ocky strap work perfectly.

Swan outback 2019 has the extra storage at front with 2 drop down doors… will poles cover or is there another option to attach?

@workliveplay just did this conversion on our 2006 Eagle Outback, but used the eyelets at both ends and no ridge poll as you suggested. Can’t wait to go camping again as this will save at least 20-30mins on setup and again on pack up! Thank you! 🎉

Hi there, thanks for the video, very informative. I will receive my Jayco Lark outback 2024 next month. Does option B kit 1 work for it? Thanks

Can you tell me the length of the bolt used, please? I know you said it's an 8mm (M8), if you can tell me the length too that would be great!

I bought the caravan mods full conversion kit with poles etc. I remember on one of tour videos that you showed some small clips that went on the spigot ends over the ringlets that held the fly in place. I think these would make set up easier especially when you're on you're own. I can't find where they were featured 😢 where did you get them?

Thanks for the video. Will this mash on the sides keep bed ends dry from the rain?!

Hi, can I ask if the waterproof campsmart bed flys are a necessity when it comes to wet weather or the Jayco bed end flys are perfectly ok ? We are picking up a Jayco eagle outback at the end of the month and was wondering if this was a needed upgrade. Thanks for your awesome videos as you inspired us to get one, keep up the great work.

Hey mate I have a question do you have a way of blocking out the sun that comes through the roof and the end of your bed fly to try and make the rooms darker for the morning
I’ve hunted around and not found anything suitable
    Cheers

Bought the kit and it’s great. Only downside is in high wind the fly isn’t tied to the pole and comes of off, normally the rope end holds it all. what is the option there?

I agree - our first attempt at putting up the frame was when a strong breeze was blowing - it wasn’t pretty!! Lol!! Would love some hints and tips on best way to deal with this.

Hi Mathew and Karen, we don't tend to have an issue once it is all up and taut. Setting up in wind can still take a few goes but I do try to keep setup quick and poles out to reduce things flapping around.
There is a solution, however and that is the tarp buddies that clamp onto the spigot. Slide the pole through the eyelet and then clamp these on. I will do a quick video on this. A few have also requested a more detail setup and pack down video which I will also do.

Hi Mate, great instructional video, much appreciated. I am picking up a Lark Touring about mid-year and would like to have this setup. Could you please confirm that 'Option 2' on the Caravanmods website is the correct choice for my Lark or not. Cheers,

Hi Gary, Apologies for the delay. Did you make contact with Adam at Caravanmods? I personally would have though Kit 1 which is the bolted connection at both ends. On a Lark you have the angles under the floor with holes. You simply enlarge one whole on each corner to suit the M8 hardware and install. The Birdpeak would also potentially work as the Lark has a flat profile front boot but to me its less drilling into body work having only the four bolts into the sub frame. I tell you what the Lark is a popular camper... you will really enjoy it!!

Hi there great video guys just one question The screw with the plastic knob at the front seems a little long and it looks like a pole would slide up and down the screen won’t this create wear and tear at some stage

    • @WorkLivePlay
      @WorkLivePlay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Eddie, apologies for the delay. The end of last year was very busy. The kit as supplied by Caravanmods works fine. The poles don't move around on the threads when setup - it actually allows for a bit of adjustment out to clear the bed end canvas etc. I do like how those ends unbolt when not in use so you don't have the thread hanging out as is the case with the traditional mod - which we still run on ours. I will update when I remember one day!

Have always just used 3 poles front and rear with ropes

We bought and have installed the conversion kit - using the bolt ends on the front and bird beak at the back of our 2014 Eagle Outback. Would love to see a video of the most effective way to set up each end with the poles, fly, etc so that the frame doesn’t drop and fall apart whilst trying to put up the roof. Also, most effective way to drop the roof and pack the poles and fly when using the bed fly mod. Thanks in advance!

Yes I agree and second that request of a video.

I will see what I can do as its hard to film. Might bring in a helper and do a setup and pack down as we have a pretty good system these days. Its pretty much as per the end of this video but with the bed fly sitting over. Pack down is quite easy as you leave until last and can pretty much just wind the roof down - for us its usually raining so this also keeps most of the bed end canvas dry!
Probably the easiest is way (which I we don't use but will get and incorporate into a video) is to use tarp buddies. These hold the spigots onto the fly eyelets which will make it a lot less likely to come apart, especially in the wind. We generally keep it all taught as much as we can while winding up. This is the link to the tarp buddies through Caravanmods:
