From Stella's walkthrough I knew you could use the swimming without the boat trick to get through exit without time running out. The ability to shoot from the boat is new to me.
You can do it that way, but I was really just trying to emphasize that you basically have all the time in the world and can swim it if you want as the timer never starts if you swim under the door.
With regards to the timed door in Venice I had accidentally discovered that but didn't know what triggered the door to stay open. In fact I was thinking to myself "I could've sworn that door was timed". I'd already destroyed the mines with the first speedboat but the door remained open leaving me baffled. So now I know why lol.
It might take a few goes at it. can be a bit fiddley. I was using tank controls when recording this unsure if it works in the Modern controls as I haven't tested it.
Yep, that bit isn't new in the remaster just I saw a few people wondering how to do it and while I was in the Venice levels recording the Guns trick I thought I would show how you have unlimited time in the level while I was there.
Did not know about use of guns while in boat. I however used to park boat outside the area with the slope that triggers the timer, swam under the door and then used the boat again. Only if you went onto the slope with the boat, or ran up it did the timer start.
As long as you swim under the door the timer doesn't start. If the Speedboat is in the area with the button your only way to get it out is over the small ramp and this triggers the timer to start.
Guns in the boat definitely seems like a clever exploit for a gameplay oversight; evidently not intended. Ends up forcing you to turbo boost when you want to shoot. Only seems to work if you already have the gun you're selecting equipped. Doesn't seem to work with modern controls either, at least not by the same method. Can't seem to do it on the snowmobile either. Had to try in Golden Mask since the Seraph prevents easy gun selection in TR2.
I tried it with the pistols and was getting the most joy. Auto Pistols and Uzis did work occasionally when no gun was drawn. If I had pistols drawn in the boat I was also sometimes able to switch to the Auto Pistols or the Uzis, sometimes not.
On the map when you need to put 4 emblems in egipt somehow I get to the part of the level where enemies was frozen unit i walk in the place when i suppose to show up.
happens in the originals on some of the levels sometimes if you get to a spot too early and the enemy is there but they haven't full loaded in and will stay frozen in place
the controls are all in the same place on the PlayStation just your D-pad and left stick are switched around and View on the Xbox is the Touchpad on PlayStation other than that all the buttons are in the same place.

If you park the speed boat outside of the door that closes, you can get in it after swimming under the door, and it won't activate the timer.

Thats the only way ive ever beaten venice in the last 20 years because I could never find one of the switches.

You will keep moving and using the turbo while your shooting just a heads up.

I didn't know you could shoot in the boat that's neat. This only works on tank controls BTW atleast I couldn't do it in modern controls
On the xbox using remastered graphics, pressing the screenshot button during cutscenes makes for some nice Lara backgrounds
