A great vlog! Yo´re very observant but also respectful. I noticed you took off your shoes before going up the stairs to the monks dormitory. That shows automatic respectfulness in SE-Asian territory which comes from years and years of traveling. Doesn´t hurt your observations and humor though 🙂 Happy trails mate!

You'd think they would keep their capital city reasonably clean. Certainly puts you off eating in those establishments. They are their own worst enemies. Having already been to Laos previously, you would know that you will enjoy the country more once you venture beyond Vientaine and looking forward to your content. Cheers Sean 🤩

I think from what I've seen off Laos over the years is its changing so you never know what you are going to get but for the people off Laos i hope they find a balance of life and love and money, good luck to the people
it's ironic...the USA donated cement to Laos to build airport runway...they built that arch :)

The Laos war museum is worth a visit. And the national museum which also has a lot of war stuff, that didn't fit in the war museum. Still being communist it has an interesting spin on it's history. ☮👍

i just read that it is Illegal for Lao locals to cross pollinate with Farang unless they are married to you. Seems a tad Draconian/controlling.
it is to stop the Lao women from turning to prostitution, as happened in Thailand. Good law, as it protects local women from exploitation by fat old white men, of which I am one.
Watch out in Laos with the weed.. Laos is not thailand.. Last year i was in vang vieng, i stayed in a hostel over there. There were 3 French guys also there, they went looking for some weed in one of the local bars there, they buyed weed and went out to find a good spot to have a smoke in nature. What they did not know is that the Laos police was watching the bar, they followed the French guys and catched them smoking in public..the police asked them where they stayed, and followed them to the hostel where i stayed. They had to give the police their passport. They could get their passports back only if they payed 500 euros in the police station in vang vieng.. So be aware over there.. Cops there very sneaky!!
