If Patrice suddenly stopped being funny, and was of no gain to opie and his show, he’d have turned on him and dropped him in a second. That’s the business, but people saying we have Patrice thanks to opie is crazy. Most shows would pray for a free Patrice popping in whenever their other paid comedian is busy.
The only thing opie was good at, was realising which people were funny enough to be there, and running with them. And even then I’m not sure I’d call that a talent, the feedback from the audience would tell him 90% of if someone is worth having back or not.
