Anker ALMOST had me sold. The only thing they missed imo is the phone mount doesn’t tilt. That matters to me personally but if it doesn’t to you then it’s probably the best option in this line up full stop.
Aside from the magsafe not tilting, the white part is only glued to the black plastic. Meaning if you pull your phone from the magsafe pad many times, it'll break. Mine has wires almost popping out so I had to tuck the white magsafe pad back to the black plastic and glue it from the outside. Made some mess and didn't fix the issue for me.
I just purchased the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 cube with Qi2 and it is great. All your issues with your #1 Anker stand charger are solved. It has a very small footprint … but no carrying case.
With the 12 Qi2 Chargers that I tested, almost every product was faster than all the older MagSafe compatible & Made for MagSafe products. For example, in the 30 min iPhone charge test, the average would be 20% on the iPhone. With the Qi2 chargers, the average was around 30%. I'm wrapping up filming for Qi2 Battery Packs and there are products out there that did close to 50% in 30mins which is crazy. It's even crazier with some of the Qi2 power banks I've tested. Stay tuned!
Can you have someone send you Anker’s Costco-exclusive *Qi2 MagGo 3-in-1 cube* ? Anker has two different cubes - a “Made for MagSafe” one that you can buy on Amazon ($129), and a *Qi2* one that is exclusively sold at Costco ($79). I’m curious how the Qi2 one holds up agains the five charges you reviewed, and whether it’s superior to the more expensive “Made for MagSafe” one. I prefer the sharp corners on the older on, and the older one is a bit smaller. But for $50 less...
How did you test the charging speed? All devices at once or one after the other? My experience with the ESR is totally different to yours (very slow charging and very hot), I was surprised it made it in your rating ...
Dude … for US$10 more (US$79.99 if you're picky, which I know you are), the _Anker Qi2 Mag-go 3-in-1 cube_ at Costco is a win. Doesn't get very hot, you can adjust the angle of your phone in Standby mode, and its indicator light is *on the back* so it won't shine at you during the night. Comes with a 40W charger and cable (I didn't measure it, maybe 1.8M?). Travel ready (if you can pack a compact cube), and the Watch charger slides in out of the way if you don't need it. Superb fit and finish, nothing "cheaped out." (Tilt up iPhone charge pad snaps down with a satisfying, magnetic click.) Winner IMHO. I wouldn't mind that the iPhone blocks the watch in Standby Mode on teh Anker fixed "charger tree", because the Watch can't be set in Nightstand Mode (sideways), only straight up. So, are you going to reach out to the Watch and click a button? Me thinks not. The lack of adjustable angle for the iPhone WOULD annoy me (see above). For Nightstand Mode on the Watch, I love the Elago Mac Classic and IMac holders for Apple's charger. Cute, effective, and you can store excess cable inside. P.S. love and treats to Monty.
My complaint about the Anchor from Costco is it’s only 15W charging. The new iPhone will charge at 20W with a 25W charger. All my furniture chargers will be 25W.
@@ChromeJob and I had the numbers wrong: 25w charging with 30w charger. Big deal for me, I tend to need boosts and typically am at my desk for 15-30 minutes at a time.
The Anker is literally in my cart right now but I just had to come watch some reviews on Qi2 3 in 1 charging stands first. This video is responsible for my purchase now. Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. It has been incredibly valuable to me. I look forward to the opportunity to learn more from you in the future.
Would love to see you make another video with more travel focused Qi2/MagSafe chargers. Think MagSafe Duo replacements/successors: the new Anker MagGo UFO, Twelve South ButterFly, the ESR 3 in 1 (from this video), mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe (sold at Apple Stores), etc.
I bought the #5 Anker over a month ago for my vacation. It was a little wonky, sometimes needing to be unplugged and plugged to work but could have been the outlets. Use has been steady and dependable at home.
If you haven't checked it out already, you should take a look at the mous 3 in 1 portable charger. The charging on it is pretty slow, but it folds up so incredibly small and it's super lightweight. Love mine! :D
I got the Anker pocket sized 3 in 1 charger and I personally love it. I got a travel case from Amazon for it and it’s one of my favorite travel accessories. I haven’t noticed too much overheating either.
Can you please clarify which Apple Watch you used in testing? I ask because the Apple Watch series 10 can charge even faster than previous models. I care most about my Apple Watch charge speeds because it’s the thing that will wear overnight for sleep tracking and will only get a short time on the charger in the morning.
I’ve been using the Twelve south HiRise 3 deluxe and I freaking love it. Idk how charging speeds are bc I don’t really pay attention to that but it’s pretty nice and my devices never get hot
Did you test out the Aukey / Amegat 3-in-1? I've been using it for travel and I've really liked it. Don't have data on charge speeds since I typically use these sorts of 3-in-1's for overnight charging, but its also really compact and in my opinion better built than the ESR.
MobileReviewsEh! I know this question is a little out of bounds… Have you ever used/tested or reviewed the Aukey Magfusion 3-1 charger? Looking to make a purchase but I am not sold on the Anker 3-1 you reviewed, and I am worried about the heat that comes from the Mophie 3-1. Some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks again… 😊😊😊
Did you try the Anker UFO Travel multi charger? I got the Anker Maggo foldable one reviewed here. I think UFO though compact is little too flimsy. I also have the ESR but the Apple Watch charger is horribly slow! It seems only Apple Watch’s own cable with metal rim is the only one that can fast change fast.
Thanks again for a great video, can I just clarify, when you talk about how fast each one charges your devices, are you charging them all at once or separately ?
The Satechi 2-in-1 is $80 and they often run 25% sales on their website making it $60. Their 3-in-1 is expensive due to the Apple tax. I'm not sure I agree with your testing methodology. Qi2 chargers often charge at full speed for 15min or so and then drop to half or even a third of that as they heat up. A better measure would be to time a charge to 80% and 100%. That would indicate whether heat is actually dissipated properly over time.
Can you please🙏🏼 review and compare the Twelve South ButterFly 2 in 1 charger Vs the Anker 3 in 1 Foldable Pad! I want to get one!! But want to know which one is better 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼please help me ❤️
I would use your links, but I already own you ESR number three pick because I wanted something for travel. But I do like and use Anker products also. Still number three works great for the last 6 months I have had it.
Can you test 4 in 1 charging stations or any docking solutions for iPads? I've been on the hunt for a charging station that can do all 3 devices plus my iPad and I've been struggling.
The ESR packing the apple watch stand separately is actually a huge upside to me... you can plug in any usb c cable or like me, my third party fitibit charging stand so, if you aren't an apple watch user you don't lose 1/3 of your charging.
I've been looking to upgrade my travel charger, and even bought the Anker 3-in-1, but I'm sticking with my Apple MagSafe Duo Charger. It's slow, it's lightning, but it's super small and light, and weight is something that all travel chargers on the market seem to overlook.Would love to see someone make a good USB-C competitor that is super light, even if doesn't have max charging speeds
@@hellfireclub86I like the Mango, I really do. But the disappointment for me is that a significant chunk of its price is likely made up of the included charger. Which I already have.
