This is a special Birthday video as Baloo turned a whopping 55 years old on 1st April 2021 so to celebrate I have put together this video showing you all his cool features making him a 1966 VW Beetle.

What a very pleasant start to the day , a guided tour of "Baloo" He's looking very nice indeed and the first thing l noticed when you first opened the bonnet was how tidy it looked . Usually all you see is a spaghetti of random wiring just waiting to catch fire !! A very wise move indeed. Harriet , l also thought the washer bottle employed the tyre !
I loved the model ! Have you managed to look at the headlining yet ? Or just a case of one thing at a time ? One thing l did notice was the metal fatigue on the door frame when you opened the quarter light . You do need to address that as it will start doing the same on the outside . It's caused by the constant flexing of the door. It will mean removing the frame
and a bit of paintwork . Make sure you drill a small hole (2mm) where the fracture ends , this will stop it tracking . I know it's a pooh but "Baloo" will love you for it ! Sorry Harriet ! I think this is the nicest l've ever seen "Baloo " look . Thanks .Hope you're keeping well and slowly but surely life is returning to normal . Take care and stay safe.
Thanks John! I am really grateful for the advice. The headliner, like the doors, are all on my very long list of "I'll get around to sorting them one day..." Haha. I've had to resume my normal full time job and so time over at my mechanic's garage is scarce now so won't be able to tackle my list as I would like. But one day he will be a lot better! Hope all is well with you too 😘

I got a Rage Solex carb from The Netherlands. It's so much better and he's vastly improved!

Not on my bug no, it does on later beetles! Mine has its own set up, the bottle hidden behind the spare wheel has been filled with air to use
