I started watching because of the mud mower builds but this might be even better. I’m having nothing but trouble with boat motors thanks for some good idea s
Sweet!!! (Lovejoy) I'll never forget the part name now. Was thinking of using that but have not seen on till this video. The set up dosnt look half bad eather. Also looks like you have old met around. For rust I use Blk molasses 1part to 9 water.. 3-4 weeks in a tub and rust washes off like silt on a creek bed. 7month life cycle and I use less in my mix. Thanks for the video man!!
I quit drinking 40 years ago, but still think that is where this method of construction originated? Thanks to generous people who continue to educate us using TH-cam. A very professional presentation by Chud of the nuts and bolts of the build in sharp contrast to 90% of the METUBE videos of beards babbling bobble heads. Our guess is 18mph but you might get a lot more out of it with a prop matched to the load and rpm of the motor?
@@chud327 I did a little more homework and find the mower motor torque is at 2500rpm and max'd out at 4000rpm. The bottom-end and prop are chosen to be most efficient on a skiff at 5500rpm and max'd out at 6000rpm That would lead me to believe you could replace the propeller with one of 2-3" of greater pitch. Sometimes the prop off a 40 will fit on a 25hp leg?
I know this is an older video but as an alternative to a love joy connector. On my build the outside diameter of the boat crank that I cut off was 1 inch and so was the mower motor output. Went online and ordered a keyed 1 inch shaft couple. On the side with the chopped off crank I drilled and taped it for a set screw and use a drill to put a little divot in the crank piece. Once it’s clamped together the new motor slips off the driveshaft like the stock motor and you don’t have to fuss with bushings
I like daughter's trailer. I've been thinking about hitting the road with Tonka. Wondering which vehicle would be best--cargo trailer, used RV, van or skoolie.
I love all the options. I have been dreaming about a van or skoolie myself. Last on my list would probably be the old RV. Good luck and thanks again for watching.
@@chud327 Skoolie and buy a front-end smashed newer RV of same make? Take the parts you need and sell enough to pay for the conversion. I paid $3000 delivered for the last RV wreck, took many good parts including set of 6 Alcoa Wheels with good tires, air ride suspension, sway bars, bumpers and tanks. It took over 3 years to sell the parts, but grossed an insane $12,000 in parts sales.

That is so cool!! How far are you from Sarasota? I went to school at University of South Florida for chemical engineering and now after getting run over on my 1957 Harley Panhead I decided to start a small engine repair/restoration/rebuild biz. We are specializing in engine drive welders and generators along with any landscape equipment including tractors and maybe jet skis. It needs more work, but I loved its first run. We hit about 14 miles and hour with it. Big list of things, but I hope I can get up into the 20's. I am up just north of Jacksonville. You know of some super fishing hole in Deltona? Thanks for watching.
I would guess that it would handle it, but I have never tried it. Are you putting the bigger on the engine? I might would experiment with a 2 inch bigger pulley if you don't already have the 1 inch bigger. Let me know how it turns out and thanks for watching.
