- In this car camping video, my daughter & I head up to St. Augustine to explore the historic downtown area & St George St., had some handcrafted ice cream from an adorable little shop, take in the views...and then head to the beach for some minivan camping for two at Anastasia State Park. I've camped here a couple times before, so I had big plans....
but I was quickly reminded that the only plan I can rely on currently is no plan at all, as my chronic illness and a semi rough night of sleep in the humidity had other plans for us. Make sure you watch to the end as I confess the "failures" of this trip & give you a look at how Terra looks when she's NOT all neat and organized. Fun was still had by all, but at a cost. This is the new normal for me that I am trying to embrace. Thanks for being here 💚

For ventilation in my Dodge grand caravan i use gutter guards in my sliding door windows. They have screen attached and keep the bugs out great. Just trimmed to fit. Gives about 4 inches of screen. 😊

For those of us who are planners, just “rolling with it” is soooo hard! But you are hanging in there, and that’s the most important thing right now. The nondairy frozen dessert might not have been exactly like sherbet, but it sure looked cool and soothing! I so commiserate with you on how difficult it is to withstand the heat, especially with humidity. Some days I can’t even stand to open the door and step outside. Carry on!
It really seems like an impossible task to just wing it, but I suppose that's why I need to be more adaptable. The sherbet definitely didn't taste exactly like the "real" thing but it was really good, and tasted very fresh!! 💚
Thanks for sharing, that's a beautiful park to camp at. As you can see it gets very hot there and down town. I love camping in Florida in my little camper with air-conditioning. At night I don't have to worry about bugs or the heat. You might want to consider a small camper.

I have the same van and I'm thinking of tinting the 3rd row side windows dark so no one can see in, but I can still see out, and won't need window coverings, unless I want complete darkness. Also, should be less of a issue when traveling to different counties/townships.
You definitely need to explore the area. It's one of the few "touristy" places in the state that I love. All the history, and old buildings/architecture, the charm, the water views. Great food too!!

When looking for shark teeth look in the little bits of black shells- the teeth will be black and small
