A lot of Dash 9-44CW's have been pulled out of storage for use on the BNSF since you can, now, regularly see old H1 painted locomotives and even SD70M and SD75M's as well.

The HTC trucks are what the Amtrak P30CH used.

GMD London had a very militant work force. Their build quality stunk. The customers sent them back in droves to correct build quality issues. GM put up with this as upper management didn’t care. Progress Rail and Caterpillar bided their time, gradually moving production to Muncie, IN. When the London plant’s labor contracts ended, Progress Rail basically dropped the hammer on the Union.

This is the actual modern locomotives, no matter how much old they are. Today's locomotives are nothing compared to SD40-2s. Greetings from India🇮🇳.

Back a many years ago, I wasn't a fan of the SD40 and it many variations. I saw them EVERYWHERE. Now, I see two, both ex BN units, switching the BNSF intermodal facility in Stockton, Ca.

With the introduction of the Dash 2 series, the SD45 was a much greatly improved in terms of reliability and, according to some, the fuel consumption.
Also worth noting is that Detroit Edison received the final order of "straight" SD40's which were actually constructed in 1972 after the introduction of the Dash 2 version.
