- FIRST HUMAN TO GET MORE THAN ONE 8-4 IL TAS TIE! I have been going for this inconsistently on and off the past 2 months, but recently, I had the motivation to grind it more consistently. Just like my first 8-4 IL maxout, I was able to clutch it out first run past turnaround room! For me, achieving this not only means that this is replicable, but it'll also help build my 8-4 consistency in the long run, which will be very good for Any% moving forward since that's now just a battle of 8-4 frames. Is there a reason why no one has been doing fast accel in the final room? Does it really make Bowser unpredictable during a full speedrun?
Only saves a frame without second accel, plus it can make Bowser unpredictable if you mess up

In a full run he would still be allowed to switch. Also, its not really possible to get tas tie first room without the controller, the setup requires one

What would happen if a new any% record were to eventually do 8-4 IL exactly like this? Like how would you go about submitting the console used as keyboard or controller? Is there like another option for "both" or something?
SMB1 community doesn't differiate controllers from keyboard. It only differiates version and in this case it would've just been submitted as NES emulator
on speedrun.com you don't submit based on the input device you're using, but rather the platform you used. but yeah this would be a hybrid of both controller and keyboard

probably not, first room is absolutely ridiculous on keyboard, and even if i changed my keybinds to make it easier, i'd still have to play the rest of the level with those keybinds. it would be much much easier to do it in full on controller
