I had almost checked out What You Need from the library so now I will definitely read it. Wild Houses and Love Marriage sound good too. It’s amazing how some titles sound so good like Same Bed. (There ought to be a law against giving a horrible book a catchy title 😂)
I read Black Butterflies last year. If the subject interests you, and you can cope with triggering topics I would highly recommend S. by Slavenka Drakulic ☺️
@@GemofBooks I read the summary and it sounds like a hard read. But the author has a few books I may try first as several have really peaked my interest. Thanks for the information. I so appreciate new books to investigate and the Balkans and what I've learned so far has been eye opening.
You liked North Woods… . I guess I have to read My Friends now. I haven’t read it yet because I didn’t think I’d like it, but based on your comments here I guess I will.🤓
Dutch books are not usually on my radar, since I get most of my recommendations from booktube and most booktubers I follow are either from the US or the UK. But I will put The Safekeep on my list it sounds interesting. I will also check out Love Marriage. I did read Brick Lane and I liked it, but I didn't love it. However I liked it well enough to try another book by her.
I really enjoyed Stone Yard Devotional and hope it wins the Booker Prize, it’s a bit of a marmite book though as I’ve seen mixed reviews on it. Don’t judge me😂
I’m so glad you liked North Woods, I’m never sure what people are going to make of it. when I collected my preorders from the bookshop last week I saw the bookseller reading it and she wasn’t very far in / considering giving up. I almost fell to my knees begging her to give it a chance, it makes you work so hard at the start but once you’re in it you’re in it 🌳🥄 I really need to get on with The Safe Keep, the Booker has totally passed me by this year but I’ve seen consistent positive reviews for that one x
I think because I was really aware that North Woods was going to be almost short stories I had already geared myself up for a slower start, but I actually really loved it from the start! The Safe Keep seems like a very you book!
I’m looking guards to What You are Looking for is in the Library. Also have been pondering picking North Woods. You’ve been doing well with the books mate! 🥄
My guy at Waterstones was raving about north wood. Do you think I would like it. Oh and I’m way too dumb for all the booker and other prize stuff other than woman’s price 😂😂 🥄
Loved Safekeep too 🥄
Yay!! 🥳
Yeah for Deathnote being so high 💀🥄❤
So much fun! I’m waiting for my hold on volume 2 to come in from the library 🤩

If only the titles reflected the quality of the book 😂😂
Reading the SafeKeep. Thanks for your thoughts. Just finished Black Butterflies by Morris about siege in Sarajevo. Great read. Loved it.

Did you not like North Woods?!
My Friends is 100% a Brian book 😂
You had a good month! I read 12 books in August, the best being Because of Winn-Dixie. 🥰 🥄
I love Because of Winn Dixie!!❤
A good month for you too then matey 😃🥄

Not at all!! If we all liked the same books BookTube would be a very boring place!! I’m still backing James for the win though 😜
@@GemofBooks I just wonder if James is too popular a read to win. We shall see….
