How to connect VIrtualDJ to an External Mixer with RCA Cables

- This video demonstrates how Virtual DJ can be connected with an external mixer for mixer control on two channels. This is a cost-efficient workaround of using a sound card.
You don't have to spend big bucks to buy a sound-card for headphone cueing and mixer controls on your virtual DJ decks.
Things you will need:
1. One 3.5mm to 2 X Male RCA Cable.
2. One RCA Female to RCA Female Adapter.
3. Two 1 X Male RCA to 2 X Male RCA
and your mixer and laptop/pc.

Thank you! I used a second usb souncard on my laptop and it worked!
This method basically turns stereo to mono signal.
If you cant buy that "male to 2 male rca" cable , then you can build it yourself.
Just buy a regular 2rca to 2rca cable , and two rca plugs (without cable) , next part is to cut that regular rca cable in half , then strip the ends of the cable and twist together signal wires (ussualy comes in red or white colored inner cable) and twist together the ground cable (the wires that are around the inner signal cable) and then solder them to the plug and its done! Simple to build!

You can get it from any local electronic shop, or buy 1 X Female RCA to 2 Male RCA instead, and replace the adapter used in between.

I need urgent advice, can this work if i connect to a cd unit? like its got 2 decks and a mixer on it. It's called the Numark CDmix can it work with that?
I am not sure that the external mixer is there on Virtual DJ Home or not, but you can always try splitting the sounds in mono.. DO let me know if you are succeeded, I'll try to do it in Virtual DJ home.

Can i use 2 midi turntables (american audio radius 2000) and a mixer(American Audio Q-D6) on my laptop so i can use the songs from my laptop with virtual dj and mix it with the turntables and mixer??

its best just to buy a usb audio card and have stereo on both channels. but if you dont have the money to get a usb audio card then this is the next best option.

You would need a timecode set-up with Timecode CDJs and a timecode Soundcard to do the same..

hey man the signal out of the headphone socket is stereo...left and right...yes you will get two signals, but both will be mono...and not a split signal...but the same signal two ways....this is not the way to do it....sorry

You just need a 3.5mm to 2 X RCA Cable, plug the mini jack on the pc than plug rca on mixer, the white rca on the left deck(deck 1) and red one on the right (deck 2), set up VDJ on mono separated ...Done... You use too much useless cables!
