I loved the whole process and learned something new. It was time lapsed, but so educational. Thanks for sharing. I will watch this again and again until I figure out what I can do if I try to do something simple.
WOW 😲WOW 😮WOW 😮 this is amazing and I’d love ❤❤❤❤ to see more of what you do with it next. Thank you so much for sharing this piece. Your very very talented and creative and artistic too
I have done your spiral exercise which I loved, I then bought the fish pattern and enlarged it 140% but I think it’s a lot smaller than this fish. I’m following the colours you use on your website and it seems quite a different method to this style. I guess as I’m a total beginner I’ll take a while before I can use this approach.
I like Mixed Media. Now this is cool. Love it. ❤️ Of course thought of my dad as soon as I seen it. He was a Fisherman. Actually kind of a famous one. He didn't like to eat fish much. He was an avid fisherman. He probably would of liked me to do something like this. ☺️ But for me. I probably would add beads to it...😆
@@anuvydehi It is also referred to as fusible web. It is a thin fabric that has a shiny side to it. That side will fuse to the fabric pieces when ironed.
This is fascinating! If that fish only knew how beautiful she is, she wouldn't be pouting :) So now that you've laid the pieces down, do you run stitches all over them?
And now what do you do.? Are they already backed with an adhesive product and you just steam it onto itself. Are you placing them onto a pressing mat so that it slides off?
I saw a similar video where the artist used "gel medium" (usually used by painters - it's basically acrylic (?) paint without pigment) to affix her fabric pieces to a wooden board, completely covering it and folding the outside edges around to the back of the board. More of a fabric collage than a quilt per se.
Great video! Beautiful fish ! Such an harmonious assembly and such precise cutting. I wonder how to were able to transfer the drawing onto the fabric to fit the small parts? i am noticing a kind of round scissors. How are they called ? They seem very useful.
Thanks for showing us what backing to use, what paste etc - apart from showing off you were very little or no help to teaching anything - maybe you were just teaching people that you are talented
It’s to show you how she creates but in 4 minutes vs hours. “Thank you Susan” is what’s appropriate. She’s not showing off. She’s showing what we all can do with a little imagination. Even if she were shout off it’s fine. It’s called inspiration for us to see what can be achieved. Try to see the positive in people and have gratitude for them.

W.O.W. I could feel the arthritis in my fingers watching this. But what a masterpiece!! Beautiful work!! 🤩
Excellent video, I really enjoyed your process and your fish is adorable. The only problem is now I can’t throw away even my smallest scraps...lol

Beautiful! What kind of board are you pinning onto?
This was fun to watch and is a beautiful piece
I just love your work. Thank you for sharing.
stunning work...i dont understand do you sew this down? or do you just glue it?
I have the same question. I do fabric collage and the gluing part is the most challenging... type of glue . Things have moved etc... lol
Iron on interface would work and then satin/zigzag stitch edges
@@jenniferjones111 what is an iron on interface?

Wow! That is stunning art, so beautiful, I'd love to have the skill and flair to achieve that x thank you so much from the UK xx
Absolutely incredible! Beautiful
Fascinating. Thank you, Susan! I enjoyed watching your process and learning from you!

Yes, the stitches are all over so everything is sewed down.
Beautiful work!

How do you stitch it down? Is there no sound to the video?
Uhuhuh!!!! Lindoooo!! Parabéns!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤

Do u have a preferred product that u use to affix the cloth to the canvas board ?
Curious how you finish this. Hand stitch? Glue? Free form quilting?
Glued down then free motion to catch all the small bits. Sometimes, she covers with tulle.
BRILLIANT!!!!!! 😱❤️💕
Muy lindo ,pero se pega la tela se cose o que método se usa para fijar las pequeñas partes gracias abrazos desde mi Colombia
Brand new to collage quilts. How do you manage and store your scraps?
I love the plastic containers that lettuce comes in. That's for my more recent scraps. For long-term storage I have suitcases!
Are the edges of the fabric turned under? It is difficult to tell due to the speed of the video.
Just gorgeous.....thank you.
What kind of scissors are you using? They are very unusual, and new to me.
Beautiful work - are you pinning the scraps onto fabric, or a board, or canvas? And how are they secured? Lovely stuff.

I guess she has to make a living so will let you know those details if you take a course with her. Consider it phishing for new clients!
If you Google her, she gives a ton of free advice and videos through her blog. This video looks like it was just for fun.
