Can you tell me the name of the woman who made Fireworks at the Border? I couldn't make out her name when you spoke it - she lives in La Prada and I live in Santa Fe. I'd like to contact her about showing her works at our Guild.
The quilts are stunning but I wish the spokesperson had practiced her monologue before standing there to describe the quilts, as she constantly stumbles over the words, has to correct herself rather constantly, ruining the whole message by the artists, whether one agrees with their sentiments or not. This video should have edited out all her missteps or it should have been re-filmed. I now have to finish watching with no sound as I can’t listen any more to such poorly read script.
My sister lived in Ohio and she made the most beautiful quilts. She was refused entry into some Quilt guild on the premise that quilts with picture appliques were not authentic quilts. My sister's quilts were 1000 times more beautiful than those you are showing. As a matter of fact most of them are dark, depressing and downright ugly!
