    What a great video. Although I’m late at this, I wanted to know where to get the timer clock and also the slide of your rotations. I teach 5th grade and trying to figure out a system for reading

      Timer is online, just google online digital timer. The slides are just in powerpoint with the 'cycle' feature.

    Thank you! Do you find 10-15min rotation long enough ? Do you have the students show/discuss their work for ccountability for their learning Ie: work on writing share with the class or listen to reading share ?

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Lindsay! Great question! I find 15mins is the sweet spot - it gives kids enough time to really get into a word game or get some writing done. If I want to have the kids spend more time on a station, I will schedule less stations for more time :)

      That’s a very good question that I hope is answered soon . Do students turn in the work they did for a grade ? How can they be graded on certain work done at a station ie playing game with friends ?

    Where did you get the alphabet letters on top of your smart board?

      Hi Hoda, I'm sorry, they were given to me when I moved up to grade 3. I don't know where the original teacher got them from, sorry! I would check TPT.

    Hi my question is - are the five activities done in one day or session, please?

    Great video! I do have a question, when you pull the kids for guided reading, which of the daily 5 stations are the missing and how do you handle that?

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tracey, my priority will always be the small group instruction so they might miss one whole station and a part of another, but they will have received a much more valuable opportunity. Usually when they are finished with me they just join their group at whatever station they are at currently.

    Where did you find the vowel and noun games that you have in plastic bins?

      Thanks for asking! This is a fantastic resource found on TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers) called Toothy Grammar resource or Toothy Phonics resource.

    This is helpful. I also teach 4th. Do you create differentiated groups, for example, if I have non-readers and above-grade level readers.

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ashleysimmons6966 yes absolutely! If I have non readers in the class, they require different instruction than students who are reading below, at, or above grade level 🩷

      It's two different programs open side by side. The left side is an online countdown timer, and the right side is a powerpoint screen with the circle-cycle image :)

    Great video! Are the students in heterogenous groups for their daily 5? When do you schedule to meet with students if they are going to multiple stations? Do they just miss one of the stations that week?

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thanks for the great questions! I usually group my students in a mixed fashion and then I will call out the group of kiddos I am working with that day for 20 minutes (So Group 1 might have A,B,C students - I might ask B student to join me for a guided reading session along with other students from other groups. Then when my guided reading group has finished, they just rejoin their Daily 5 group in whatever rotation they are in at the time).

    Hi. Thanks for sharing!! I am thinking of trying on Daily 5 in my class. Do the students complete every station every day? And do you ever let the kids decide which station they want to do? Thanks

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      My students thrive on structure so they don’t really get a choice of stations, but they complete every station every time we do Daily 5 so it wouldn’t matter anyways. Sometimes they ask for the groups to change up and I will do that once in a while. :)

    This is an excellent video!! Would you do this with very low grade 1 students (basically kinders)? With different stations obviously

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes 100% but it would look a lot differently. I would spend a lot more time establishing the routines and expectations. I would begin with 2-3 stations first.

      @@3peaksclassroomHi, great video . Do you reward the student helper . If so , in what way ? Also , does the student helper get extra time to complete the work at the station considering the extra job they are assigned will take extra time ?

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stacyr4768 the student helper is just someone who is capable of completing their work quickly so that they can help others. I don't typically reward it as the students are eager to help anyways, especially if it means they get to wear a badge
