Isaac wishes to end his relationship with Claire without hurting her feelings, so he tries to get claire to break up with him.
One of the funniest scenes in the series so far, i lost it when he said he’s incapable of studdering so he knows she heard him 😂
Did you notice his hand gesture when he said " I can only conclude you heard me."? Great touch.

Omg I died when I first saw this scene. Only Seth can pull off this mad genius.
Seth writes and acts some amazing things, but this scene is a language ramped up version of a ST:TNG scene from the Data episode 'In Theory'.
@@WilliamPitcher Ther Orville is a parody of ST, except ended up doinf ST better than ST actually did. This is just another parody and done much better than the writers on TNG ever came up with.
@@SPG8989 there's a lot of stuff on TNG that honestly hasn't aged that well. I think the Orville is a pretty engaging show and it's easier to settle in
This scene made me laugh the 1st time & I wanted to re-watch it & it still holds up! I love Isaac & Bortus's deadpan deliveries. My husband used the "As I am incapable of stuttering" line so many times & I couldn't BELIEVE he accused Dr. Finn of being on her period. CLASSIC!
I still laugh so hard at this scene lol best advice given by lamarr on how to break up and that "affirmative" between all was damn hilarious too..
You have to give it to Issac, that method has a 100% sucess rate.

Since the Orville pretty much is an homage / rip-off to Star Trek they're actually copying the scene when Commander Data is trying to do a lovers quarrel with his girlfriend in the TNG episode" In Theory ". But this actually comes out better

Meh yea, but season 3 to me was the best yet in terms of writing, lessons learned, and just overall in general. Yea I miss episodes like this too, but at the same time if they get a season 4 I hope it is more in line with season 3.
The last episode of Season 3 was pretty similar to this imo, especially when Isaac invited the whole planet.
