My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first TH-cam channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!

Bringing cuttlebones into your avairy will promote excellent beak health while also supporting your bird's bone health, cuttlebones also promote fertility, especially for egg-laying birds. I feel your birds would love them attached firmly to their branches and throughout their playground whilst deterring bad chewing habits elsewhere. I think the cuttllebones are also really pretty.

It's hurricane season here, too. We had significant damage from IAN last year, which was a few mph shy from a category 5 when it made landfall here in Florida but I'm thankful that my hubby, me, our 4 chinese crested hairless & powderpuff and 2 chihuahuas survived. Prayers lifted for all of us. Mikey, this episode probably broke the record for most ads. I counted at least 5. Congratulations!
Mikey Could you please record 1 hour of rain? I love listening to the sound of rain but its hard to find a good genuine recording of rain on youtube.

I know! 27C is a great summer day in Canada but I've learned that temperature is relative, kinda like how stepping out of a hot shower feels super cold, even if it really isn't.

One flower that butterflies seem to like in our garden is santan. That’s where I always see them, feeding. These past weeks with continuous rain is good for the plants, but it still was quite worrisome, especially for farmers like my dad. I’m happy to hear the birds coming out and singing again.
RIP Paul Reubens. I grew up watching Pee Wee Herman too.

That bird that was singing along with the Orioles and the Golden-bellied Gerygone was a Philippine Pied Fantail; that was the species I mentioned that might have had built that cup-shaped nest you showed in a plant outside your house near the door.
And when you mentioned convergent evolution of the wing, there might have has an additional group of animals that evolved powered flight, and they are the Pterosaurs(which people still mistake to be dinosaurs but they are a separate group even if they're closely related to each other), with some of the last ones being flying giants that have wingspans spanning 11-12 meters and standing as tall as a giraffe. Some non-avian dinosaurs also experimented on flight separately from the avian dinosaurs(aka the birds), but the feathered wings eventually prevailed.
Regarding the screech you and RJ heard when you were in the pool, it could have been an Eastern Grass Owl as they screech rather than hoot.
It would be nice to sit on the balcony of the Pinoy Chalet with a hot drink in hand om rainy days, not gonna lie. Some birds are actually active as well during light rainshowers
Oh wow! Yes, one of the workers once caught an owl during construction but I asked them to let it go. How neat!

the location of your home is perfect. It really feels as though you're in the middle of nowhere but you're able to go to civilization in no time. lol

It was declared no work and school tomorrow, Thurs, because of the typhoon here in Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung and Yilan. This is also the 2nd storm that hit us. Last one was Southern and Eastern Taiwan were affected. At first, I was happy we won't have work tomorrow but immediately wished and prayed that no major damage will be felt in all the places. 🙏

I love rain so much but I dnt like going out when it rains lol cus it wet outside. It very calming, especially when it on the aluminum rooftop and u can hear the rain well. It makes me sleep so well and relax. When am stress and can't sleep I play a rain and storm sound on utube which last for a minimum of 3hrs and it helps me slp.

Did you hear the giant cactus in AZ dieing because of lack of rain. Some of the cactus are over 100 years old. I read that it can get to over 145 F inside of it. The seeds aren't even having a chance to germinate 😢

Maybe a tayabak (jade vine) in the aviary? Those are beautiful. And endemic to the Philippines! Widely cultivated now, so not endangered.
Maybe too lush though and they might damage the stonework. They work better in pergolas.

As a Vancouverite, it's so refreshing to hear someone originally from Ontario actually enjoy rain instead of moaning about it, lol.
For difficult to remove jar covers, running the lid under hot water for about 20 or 30 seconds can make a difference. Then try to open.
We get Cyclones in Australia...not as bad as Typhoons!! 🌀
oh...if you only know how excited I am to be home again and shower in the rain! I always run and jump around outside when its raining, but rain in Germany is a bit cold even in summer 😅 so yesss I do love the rain💝

Can you try to video the bats swooping to drink in the pool, and then slow down the video to really see when they drink
