    I've made a better video on dual monitors here: th-cam.com/video/rjNCWK_MfZs/w-d-xo.html
    The new version answers more questions, has better demonstrations, and is better made, so don't waste your time with this one!

    Excellent video! I noticed, at 5:48 that you were having issues cascading the window to the left of the screen, due to the extended desktop. What I do to avoid this error is just re-position the two monitors in the resolution setup. Instead of side by side, the second monitor is now down and this allows me to easily cascade windows to both sides without any issues ;)

    Programs generally open wherever you closed them last time. So if you close your browser on your left monitor, next time you open your browser it will open in the same place.
    Games tend to go to the primary monitor, very few have the option to specify which monitor to use.

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    In SOME games, there are options in the video settings for Full Screen, Windowed, and Borderless Window. If you run the game full screen and it won't minimise when you alt+tab. Use google to find out if the game can run in a borderless window.

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Wiraskyyy No. The graphics card, system memory and CPU all work by allocating their resources to what needs it. So if you run a game, the graphics card will use whatever memory it has to run it (unless it doesn't need it).
    It will take a very very small amount of graphics memory to run another screen, but you can improve performance by turning off the Windows Aero scheme, and change it to Windows Basic. The same goes even if you don't have dual monitors.

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Typing works the same way it does with one monitor. If you have a text box selected, you will type in that text box, regardless of where your mouse is.

  • @gazm2k5

    @pretojoya2 No. Your picture may not appear as sharp if you are using an analogue signal, but the difference won't be huge.

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Alt + Tab. This will however minimise your game, unless you are running the game in a window. Ideally you want to run the game in a borderless window if the game allows it, since that will look the same as fullscreen, but won't minimise it when you alt + tab.

    Nice video! I really want to get an extra monitor, especially because if I'm recording gameplay it's a lot easier to hover to the side instead of having to either play in windowed or have to Alt+Tab out. I'm already going to eventually get a new monitor for my new gaming PC, and then if my family doesn't mind, I could use my current monitor for surfing the web and multi-tasking and stuff like that.

    Note
    You can even use one 3D monitor and one non 3D monitor, (with one of them set up as two monitors [even through an amp to another unit such as a Blu-Ray player], and also you can connect to both your onboard graphics with one monitor and via PCIe to your main monitor/main graphics card).
    3D PC to 5.1 Amp Yamaha RX-S600 for Battlefield 4 Two Monitors

  • @gazm2k5

    @qwerty64717 If your graphics card has two outputs, you can connect them to two monitors. They do not need to be the same.
    And yes, you can run two browsers and look at different websites on each monitor.

    Can you move video files from video editing programs to the next monitor also?

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I doubt you can. Some games let you set which monitor the game will run on, with others you can run windowed mode and drag them to the screen you want them on. However you probably won't be able to control both at once, your keyboard/mouse input will go to the window/game that is active, and you will probably have to alt+tab to switch between games. Also it will be very difficult to run 2 high end games, even for a GTX680.

    I will start with my PC spec >Win 7-64bit,AMD II X4-3.20GHz,8GB(4+4) RAM,GPU-asus geforce GTX 750 Ti 2GB DDR5
    Well the problem now is my PC gets slower when I use both the monitors at same time,yes I have my gpu drivers updated
    but both monitors are working with different tech (one is LED and another one is LCD) and different inches...

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The mouse is locked to the game, so it won't wander off to the next monitor. You have to alt+tab to be able to get the cursor to other applications.

    Hi! I have the same configuration as you have here. The problem is I don't have image on both of them, simultaneously. The 16:9 display has a DVI cable, and the other one is on VGA. The main display is the 16:9 one. When I hit 'Extend displays' the 4:3 one would light up for a second, then shut down. What am I doing wrong?

  • @gazm2k5

    Why do you want the primary screen to be the little one? Unless the game options allow you to specify which monitor it's going to run on, then you can't change it to my knowledge.

    • @gazm2k5
      @gazm2k5  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only one I can think of is GRID Autosport. That has the ability to have the main game on either screen, and the other monitor can display the map/race positions. This works fine with different size monitors.
      It's really up to the game deveopers to support this. I don't think you could run AMD eyefinitiy with different display sizes.

  • @gazm2k5
    @gazm2k5  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well the HDMI port should be on the video card too, but yes it should work.
    Be careful though, TVs should be great for videos and gaming, but they're not made for regular computer use. Leaving a TV on with your desktop or a website displayed for ages might burn in the image and ruin your TV, depending on the type. I think it's plasma screens that are bad for it.
    Best to check though, don't take my word for it.
