@@900yearslatergood news: I've started it and it's coming out really good, so far. Kinda' turned into an early 00s pop-punk + screamo song somewhere along the way, but it's pretty good. Much closer to Eagle 1 than this song was, imo. The chorus is stuck in my head, rn, so that's always a good sign.

Ok I have to say this as someone who know a little of military radio terminology that "Charlie 4 mission complete out" was a chefs kiss cause Hollywood made over and out a thing which is stupid because over means I'm done my side waiting reply and out means this radio conversation is over so you can kinda understand how using them together is confusing so you can imagine how you just using out at the end makes me happy
Thank you! I'm a veteran, myself. Not arty, but I did work with them from time to time, so it was important that I got it as close to reality as the music would allow. In earlier versions of the song, I had a lot more radio chatter, but it ended up extending the song between 1 and 3 minutes, depending on how much I used, so I had to cut it down to the few you heard in the song. Anyway, I'm so glad you appreciated this little detail. 🤍

It kinds sticks to you when you hear a few storys about a new person using the radio and then they say over and out at the end and then three people who on the same channel as him rip them a new one for it is kinda funny and stick with you because it.

Math rock is a real thing, but this is kinda' an impression of what it actually is since I'm not doing weird things with time signatures. Synth-country is probably a thing someone else is doing, but I'm the first I've heard actually do it. And thank you! ^_^

I feel like it's very different from anything I've heard before. It took me longer to make than other song and I was actually really worried that it didn't sound as good as I wanted; the vocal quality isn't quite where I like things to be.

The funny thing about this song is that it took me longer to make than almost anything else. From a technical perspective, I think it's one of my worst. Creatively (both sound and lyrics), I think there is truly nothing like it, but I thought it wouldn't be well-received. I was very wrong, of course, but it still blows my mind that this is one of my most popular songs. I decided to make Dessy-chan a recurring character.
I have no idea why TH-cam brought me here.
But never before have I wanted something so badly yet not known until it was infront of me.

However, I didn't stop working on trying to make it perfect, and it was just getting totally out of control, so for my own sanity, I had to publish it. 😅

The mastering on this track was a pain in the ass and I kinda' gave up on getting it just right after spending like 5 hours on it with very little improvement. I'm sure I'll get better at it eventually, though.

How did you get the voice to distort so well? Like it sounds just like what I would from a ship AI XD
I make very heavy use of formant-shifting, pitch-shift, and manual pitch-correction in all of my songs, constantly crossfading different combinations with each other. It can give a sort of robotic quality when I want it to, and I usually do.
@@CharliMorganMusic that’s pretty cool. So you pitch shift and modify your own voice and then work that into the rest of the music?
Yes, but it's more about format-shifting than pitch-shifting. Like, you can pitch-shift your own voice quite a few semitones and it'll sound like your voice, but if you do that with formant shifting, just a couple of semitones can make you sound completely different if. You also change the way you say different words and alter your natural cadence. It's very experimental, at least when I do it for myself, and it sounds worse more often than it sounds better, but when it works, it really works great.
