    Tried the 95 and the 98db! The advertised « twice the power » is kinda clickbaity as a 3db difference is not really noticeable by the ears! You can feel it’s more powerfull at 70 80 % when you s’étend at 1m! But not worth the extra 400$! In my opinion people will live happy with the 95 db! Invest the 400$ is something else!

    I have a very love hate relationship with my stereo pair Phantom II 98db. I love how they sound. I’d be happy if they would just work properly all the time. But Devialet is very unreliable. One reactor will half of the time reboot when I try to bring it on standby. Other half of the time it will stay on standby. Sometimes it will reboot 3-5x in a row when it REALLY doesn’t want to go into stand by. You could also just leave them on if they don’t want to go into standby. But if you leave them on for too long and you want to connect through your computer/ipad/phone, all of the sudden you cannot find them anymore. And thus you have to reboot them. Sometimes the app doesn’t work. While everything is installed, the app thinks it’s a new product. Sometimes the connection gets lost and you can only play through the Right one, but can’t detect the left. But you see, there’s a lot of little things. For this price , you want them to work, preferably always. And not having to worry about all these little things. Also the help desk of Devialet is not so helpful. My right reactor that always reboots when I try to bring it in standby, they were very reluctant to do anything about it as I asked if they could replace it. They still play nice, and they work most of the time. But very frequently I have to solve the little things. And it’s annoying.

      Never had a problem with it. I just leave them as is and connect when I want to play . Never had a problem finding it.

      @@wojtek2430 interesting. I’ve read a lot of people have same issues as mine though. Would’ve been nice if they would’ve been more responsive into replacing the right one which causes me more troubles. But it seems they’re okay with people having semi defective units as long as it’s not fully defective.

      @@60fpsgaming60 I’m using iphone. So.. now a few months later, I reverted to NEVER shutting them off or in standby. And this way they run pretty smooth. After X amount of time music will start to ‘stutter’ a bit. Then I restart them and all fine. So I’m pretty cool with that at the moment..

      I have the same pair in black, so, I've discovered the following: My main set up is an optical from my LG TV to the right main speaker, I also have an 8 port ethernet switch where both speaker enternets are connected. The setting on the TV is Optical/PCM, now, I also use this TV as my computer monitor so Tidal, Amazon, etc is ran from there and the volume and such is controlled from the app on my tablet. In early days I've had connectivity issues but no longer, you have to adjust the latency (low) on the app to sync with the dialog and you have to make sure the TV is off before you try to enage Bluetooth. Having both optical and Bluetooth running at the same time causes major issues, since these changes I have not encountered any issues and they are beyond great. Hope this helps.

    I have one. Sound quality is really good. The bass is really good and it hits low bass better than 99% of the other Bluetooth speakers. Great buy.
    You need to have it at the right distance from a wall to really have the deep bass.

      I have mine 20-30cm from the wall on one side. Not the best but you must try and find out. You can hear a difference just by walking to different parts of the room also.

    Idk we're all different I guess, but the bass on this thing is tight, precise and definitely present. Sub-bass is great and it's very defined, and it doesn't roll off, even at higher volume levels

      Bass is insane, problem is the phantom lineup has a very minimal midrange, it's barely there and drags it down, the tweeter and subwoofers are fantastic wish they wild upgrade the midrange

      Correct, it's a bargain especially when trying to figure out equipment matching etc. I have the Phanthom 2 pair and the Gemini earbuds, I cannot get enough of this company. And their customer service is unreal, I speak and correspond with their rep named Jake. He's the best.

      My stereo phantom II speakers work 10% of the time and I usually have to reset one if not both of them (hard reset) and repair with the app and then set into stereo.
      I am far from the only person having this issue, just read the app reviews.

    Enjoyed your video. I have ordered this speaker and was wondering if I first need to link it to my home wifi before I can use it and / or via Bluetooth.
    I bought the Sonos Move and it had to be set up with Wifi before I could use it for anything so I returned it after hearing the Phantom ii at a store which has a room for listening to audio equipment.
    A pity you say Hip hop lovers will not truly enjoy this as I listen to bass orientated music from time to time when I am not listening to jazz…
    Enjoyed your video as you tell like it is.
    Until the next. A thumbs up!

  • @explodingheavens

    Best way is to listen in real life, maybe binaural rec could help, but the bass Iike bass heavy in ears and upscale like what Sony does with their tech having at once is quite audiophile sensation. Addictive even, you better ready your wallet before you hear one, you might need even 2 for stereo( as it's another lvl after hearing it in mono - as it's mono speaker)

    • @ernestochang1744
      @ernestochang1744 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its better in mono

    • @explodingheavens
      @explodingheavens 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ernestochang1744 depends on room reverberation, in most cases it's better in stereo, not to mention you can use also 4, 6,... and with every additional speaker, volume gets bigger, so even if you used 2 as a mono, you would have like about +3dB at max volume.
      I can imagine use cases as a mono, but stereo is just different experience, as we got 2 ears. Mino, stereo, 3D, binaural, those are different levels, it's definitely not the same.
