I recently got my first bow, I have been practicing a lot and have gotten my group at 20 yds to around the size of a subway napkin folded up, your content has inspired me to get a bow and enter the sport of archery
Get some instruction next. Easier to build good technique now than to fix bad technique later.

I shot the V3-31 last year and loved it.
I ordered the V3X-29 last month.
Can’t wait to set it up.
Went with the Hamskea Epsilon rest.
And I ordered a set of GAS Ghost string.
I’m not a fan of stock Zebra strings. Never shoot them.
But I do set them up and tune and Paper clip them together as a back up set when I go on my Midwest hunts.
Thanks for the carbon bar cut tip Chris! Was "literally" just asking my dealer this exact question regarding my current Landslyde because I didn't ant it sticking out the back of the riser simply for the aesthetics. Also, awesome the Landslyde and the multiple drillings to adjust the entire gang.
Ive had this bow since last December and it has been the best shooting bow I have owned. 7 Deer with it so far. Love it.
Today I handled one of these bows. The one thing I noticed right away was how much heavier it was as compared to my Mathews Ultra Max. For a hunting bow I am still partial to the older Mathews bows simply due to their overall smaller size and less weight. At 70 lbs. my bow will shoot relatively heavy (470 grains) at around 285. There is some hand shock, but I don't mind. I'm sure these newer bows will shoot, and draw more smoothly without any hand shock.

From my experience in other applications, yes, allowing paracord and other synthetic cordage to burn makes it become brittle when it hardens. Better to kiss it with the flame and bring it to melt together gently.
Great video man very informative. I've been shooting bows for several years and I travel all over the country for work and I've never seen a bow shop that will go through all this. They pull them out of the box slap some parts on them and hang them on the rack. Ultimately it's up to you to sight it in and get it where your comfortable, most shops around oklahoma and arkansas won't even paper tune one with you. I've been looking at a new rx5 for sometime but I know what a hassle it is trying to get one setup.
They should add a machined guide for the degree down stabs on the front. Get an etch at the 12 o'clock of the washer and a line on the QD so that when you tighten you can line them up and you don't have to eye ball it.
I'm impressed with how quiet that bow sounds. Really want to try the 33

G5 blu glue works great for those outserts.. I shoot the same arrows but only downfall is once they’re glued on they on 😳
I just bought the 29 a few days ago. I love it. What advantages does 4 fletch have over 3?
Stabilizes fixed blade broadheads better.
I just got into bow hunting, didnt want to get too deep money wise so my local bowshop had an old Hoyt Rampage new in the box I picked up. Setup everything out the door was 350 (drop away rest, sight ect.) So far Love just target shooting with it so may have found a new hobby.
Just picked up my V3X 29 today absolutely like the feel of the bow in the hand, it’s super quiet and incredibly fun to shoot.
He seemed happier when you received the Hoyt RX-3. )))))

If you were 18 and short on money... would you buy the v3x for the extra features or buy the v3 at a cheaper price point since it’s a year old? Basically what I’m asking is if the features are worth the money.

I just picked it up. Have no idea how to adjust the M. Sight. Maybe you should do a full video on the sight original new mathues groove sight..I adjusted a little bit..but wasn't sure what did what. 🤔 I seen the pin after loosing it that rotate moves independently each pin u want to move so what way is up what way is down to rotate to get your arrow on target. Left and right seam close. Otherwise sick build awesome shop. And I'm happy with it..just need help figuring it out..I got all m. Parts like you. And bolt on quiver. Is awesome I didn't know they had the pop off. Like yours. But it doesn't bug me on off.
Honest question. Isn't the dove tail most useful to align the sight housing with your peep at full draw? If that's true why do you just cut it off mid way?
Dont cut your sight. Unless you have sponsors that send you them for free. You will not be able to sell it on the used market.

@@ViewIndepth I wasn't so much worried that he cut his sight bar, you can do whatever you want with your own stuff haha. But he it seemed like he just stuck it in somewhere in the middle and called it good instead of using the adjustment for his peep. He is a way better shooter than I will ever be so I am genuinely curious.
Is the mathews bows as good or better than the Hoyt bows? Or what bow would you recommend if I were to upgrade from my first compound bow which is a Hoyt Maxxis 31
Not the same exact boat just a month ago have 28 inch drawl links but I’m having problems with my nose not touching the string. Wondering if you had the same issue if so, what did you do to remedy it?

Chris, not sure if you'll have the answer to this, but is there a specific axcel single pin that'll fit in the new dovetail slot on the V3X 33"? The two they market to sell with the box are both multi-pins.
Love to see you do a vid on the adjustment of the windage and balance and where the scope need to be to fix the extreme left issue of the integrate mount. The camera man had a difficult time capturing that part
Are you running the uv3xl or just the standard uv3. I have the v3x and I have ran out of adjustment with the uv3xl but I am running the axcell accutouch pro not the landslide. I am trying to figure out if the landslide will fix my adjustment issues or if I need to switch to the standard uv3.
Can you tell me what the grip helps with? I find with the stock grip my v3 31 is really sensitive to torque it. I loved the wooden grip the best.

Awesome video! In an upcoming video could you show a side by side comparison of a V3 with a quiver on and a V3X with the new quiver? It would be great to see how much closer to the riser it is. Where can I get a scope rod like the one you're using. It seems on my accutouch no matter how tight the screw and nut are there is still some sight movemeant in my scope. Im just using the rod that came with my sight. Im running the UV3XL. Thanks
Will the Hamskea Trinity work on this bow with the low pro removable quiver? Also will Black gold pro with dovetail mount work on this bow? Want to transition my old accessories to new bow.
Great bow build! What bow vice are you using? My old Last Chance Archery bow vice won't hold my Mathews V3 31.
My arrows just dropped 3 inch at 30 yards. There is some play in the string. How much play should be in the string before it is taught when drawing?
What's your draw length Chris I must of missed it. Also for lean you follow the tare... Tail left add lean, tail right follow and stand cam up straighter. Any reason you went to Victory from Eastons?

Did you have to buy a bracket for your axcel sight to make up for the windage to the right when mounting in the center?
Chris what peep do you recommend when using the ultra view with the axcel bar? I’m gonna go down and probably end up buying the V3X 33 tomorrow. I know that the black gold sight doesn’t fit into the matthews riser and I usually shoot a black gold pro sight but I’m honestly thinking about trying a set up like you run. it’s always been something I’ve been interested in but just haven’t had the motivation to try it and I think I want to try it now.
Saw a comment on doing a video on arrow builds and I would also like to see that. What arrow setup you use for whitetail hunting would be awesome.
I had to go way right with my landslyde in my 33 to get it shooting dead on. I just used my click micro adjust. Now I still have about 1/4 of micro bar on the right an 3/4 on left.
Looking for suggestion, I have the new v3x 29 ..I have a 28 " draw and the bow is camed with 28"/60#/80% let off. Any ideas on what hunting arrows to use ....I do have some axis 5mm match 340 arrows....would like to get in the 500 grand weight area...not to worried about having high speed , ie. Only 60# , so I know I'm limited there...keep the video's coming , their great, funny, and informative 👍👍👍share with all my friends ...thanks ...chazz

Hey can you tell me whether or not the new v3x can be turned down to like 45 pounds for some of us shooters out there that don’t shoot 50 plus pounds. Why would Mathews stop making 50 lb limbs . My bow shop telling me no bueno to turning bow back the limbs that far. I shot prima and not impressed preferr my triax . But really wanted to try the new v3x .wish Mathews would do what Hoyt’s still doing make bows for everyone . Or am i missing something? Can you do a vid on switch weight and how it related to lower pound shooter like 40 lbs and up thanks
I was unable to watch the whole video, but did you have to utilize the offset block made by Axcel to achieve enough windage on the Landslyde? I ran out of right windage and had to order the offset block.
Is it better to shoot with a release or by hand? When it comes to accuracy ?

Currently shooing Halon 5 30” ata. With a 26.5 draw would a 28 or 29 ata fit me better?
Just watched the video. Is it me or does the peep on the black bow look like it is sweeping down when your at full draw. The tan bow looks perfectly flat. Does the hamskea peep have 2 sets of grooves for ATA length on bows?

Hey I’m new to hunting what kind of brodheads do you use for White-tailed deer hunting ?
The bow looks nice I’ll have to stick with the traverse for draw length limits of the new bow. Side note…I had the same issues with the vap arrows/outserts. tried multiple glues and methods.. in the end the arrow flight was great and I did take one whitetail with them.. it just wasn’t worth losing inserts in targets and constantly having to maintain the issue as I love to shoot often. I’v since settled on Easton axis 5mm with the iron will ss collar and Easton brass insert. The iron will collars are bomb proof
Had the same issues with Black Eagles. The outserts would pull out. I ended up going with the Ethics inserts with sleeves and haven’t had an issue.
Just picked up this one a couple weeks ago, really happy with it. This video really sealed the deal for me
Is a mathews vertix compound bow as good as a Hoyt Maxxis bow?
For top hats always move the cam in the direction of the tear for left/right. “Shootin left, move it left”. That’s how I seem to remember

Cut that dovetail with a cut off wheel on a grinder then you can just hit the outside edges real quick to bevel it and make it look like it was always meant to be.
Very similar to an arrow cutter wheel.
I don´t have the time to set it up myself. Do you think bow fitters at stores are as meticulous as you are? Or am I doomed to be a step below perfecttion?

Yes!! All the Spot Hoggs.. HHA.. And Axcel will work. Black Gold at this moment won’t work with their dovetail truss system
I built a mission riot by Mathew’s and it’s one of the best bows I’ve used
As I shoot target competitions, I wonder how people can be accurate, using bow quivers? It hits drastically at the bow balance, and weight changes after every arrow pulled out of the quiver - bow becoming more and more lighter but only at quiver side. So, how come?

Does the bee real grip change your draw length at all?
I got a mathews vxr, after the first month of shooting it the limbs started creeking the first time I would pull it back. I brought it into my dealer he thought it was fixed, it wasn't. Took it back to him and he had to send it in to mathews this time. It wasn't doing it after that, but after a month it was creaking again! At this point it was almost the rut and I wasn't going to miss that waiting for my bow I spent 1400 on. At what point do they stop trying to fix a problem and realize you can only put so many different limbs on a bow b4 you realize that's not the problem
