Thank you!! I wish I would have found your channel last fall after I passed my NCE. I have so many ideas and didn't know how to channel all of them, but watching this prayfully will help me streamline how to navigate this profession.
This has been an amazing informational video. I graduate in May, and currently studying for the NCE. I have had so many questions, and this has been the best and most helpful video I have seen so far. I am in Texas also!!
Hi @angelab6204 I am more than happy to help and keep sharing content! I have another video on finding a supervisor, I would recommend reviewing those as well most programs don't touch on supervision and what it's supposed to look like.... th-cam.com/video/EtQbAgqXihM/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! I appreciate you! If you have any questions I haven't touched on or answered, don't hesitate to reach out.... I'll be rolling out some more in depth NCE videos soon enough...@@angelab6204
Well done Ms. Asha Creary ❤ I just found your Channel and I am very happy with your work. Thanks. Iam a graduate student who is preparing for my NCE Exams. This was very helpful. ❤
Finding a job isn't as hard as I thought because Arizona is in need of counselors, but finding a remote job that allows you to travel abroad has been Chinese arithmetic for me.
Yes, it is money to be made in mental health right now but finding a remote job is hard unless you find a private practice looking for remote associates...
@@bobbythespaceghost9934 This is very true! But if you are 1099 the practice should be using a portion of the overhead split they take to pour into marketing and/or have a person who helps with obtaining referrals... At least, that's my understanding of what is done as best practice for most places
@@cravecounseling You have been at this longer than me ma'am! I'm just a little African-American tadpole in these mental health counseling streets! I'm giving myself a couple of months to find work that would either: allow me to work abroad or find an international counseling job that will hire Americans. I just can't believe that they are not a lot of people like me who has these type of aspirations.
@@bobbythespaceghost9934 Have you tried searching USAjobs.gov? That will be a great option if your program was CACREP... They have jobs overseas and you know what they say, once you're in, you're in! What state are you getting your hours in if you don't mind me asking? Also are you only Associate/Resident level with no other credentials? Example LPC-Associate with LCDC. You may can find an LCDC contract position overseas too... How much longer until your upgrade?
Thank you for the information. So can you be supervised by one Supervisor while getting practice hours from different sites? I really like the idea of getting diverse experience from government agencies, NGOs, Faith based and private practice.
In Texas, yes... Supervisors can supervise you for multiple sites. Some states have a cap on the number of sites you can have. I don't think there is a cap on the number of sites in Texas, just be sure to discuss if it will cost more to supervise you at multiple sites some supervisors charge a little more since it is more than on site they have to remain in communication with
I think I just found my new favorite channel!!! ❤🎉
Thank you for tuning in 🙌🏾

@@cravecounseling Yep! And even then, you have to figure out a way to build your caseload, especially if you're taking the 1099 route.
