only 1 min in but it looks like the explosion can trigger itself, and god I hope that isn't my eyes deceiving me because I can only imagine how good this run is gonna get if so
i found that ogre benifits from having *some* crit but not a lot of crit. just to start off the chain explosions. my winning run focused on piercing alien eyes and i had luck with horde waves. it's sooo satisfying
Lure's loot goblins are affected by modifiers to enemies so any increase to enemy quantity will give a chance to get 3 of them (50+ guarantees a 3rd and a chance for a 4th, etc).
Me PERSONALLY I wouldn't have said "no" to a little bit of crit, considering the entire point was damage overkill, but I get why some people may not want it, especially if the crits aren't as strong as with some other weapons. Great vid as usual, Reto!
@@MsVilecat yeah its clear they mean the crit multiplier just like retroin the vid but my point is that a lower crit multiplier here is really just balanced around the high base damage.

Bad challenge idea: Pacifist Chainsaw build. Stay below -100% damage - your main sources of damage are percent damage from sources like Chainsaw, Greek Fire, and Giant's Belt critical hits. Yes, this is silly. Random chump enemies take about as long to kill as the final boss. For extra space, make it GMO Double Pacifist, just to enforce the fact that you are absolutely never digging out of that hole.
Hey so no offense but I put this video on while I was waking up (morning ritual) and this video is just overflowing with interesting soundbytes if you have no context. 😂 Looking forward to the Halloween video, this’ll be the 4th? (I think) year subscribed. You’re my only Halloween tradition now 😊🎉
I think shield probably would've been a good pick, but not a thematic one, for increased survivability as it scales off defense too. It's also much faster. Would screwdriver be potentially good as well?
Definitely would have taken the tentacles (and probably the sunglasses you passed). Critting isn’t GREAT on Rocks, but it is both a much larger hit to trigger explosions and also an alternative healing method. It’s what worked for me, anyway. You’re the way better player so feel free to disregard, just my view
Feel like you could also pivot to the blunderbuss weapon that resets its cooldown with material pickup. You could tank attack speed a lot and have the explosion be massive for damage.
Retro i love ya. But your aversion to crits when their crit value is under 2 is aggravating A 40 damage weapon with x3 crit is the same as a 80 damage weapon with x1.5 crit. Just try to look at how much damage it would increase your dps by and not the modifier itself
I don't understand the Frozen Heart Hate, you aren't doing a burning run, it comes with 8 elemental damage AND gives you a scalar. It will always improve your run unless you target elem damage down, which is few and far between. Edit: And then he takes Nail later on which is in a similar state but with better scaling but less of a bonus...Retro why do you do this to me?
Because it is a waste of money, like I said that Nail likely was too. Just because something has value doesn't mean it is more valuable than other things are.
@@Retromation Fair enough, I guess I just value it higher, keep having fun though, never meant to be mean lol. And in the case of money you got heart and nail for free in that run.
Reto screaming "I know what I'm doing!" and surviving with literally 1 hp is... priceless
only 1 min in but it looks like the explosion can trigger itself, and god I hope that isn't my eyes deceiving me because I can only imagine how good this run is gonna get if so
I looks like it can also crit which is super cool.
To quote the great Mr Torgue, "Punch him so hard he explodes!"

ogre is extremely satisfying in horde levels, sad you didnt get those :)

the crit is quite strong given the base damage..
@@trveheimer6360I'm guessing they meant the crit multiplier
@@MsVilecat yeah its clear they mean the crit multiplier just like retroin the vid but my point is that a lower crit multiplier here is really just balanced around the high base damage.
as a fan of explosion builds in PoE i can't wait to play this guy
Awesome video! Ogre, the anti -curse character
Watching this when the beta is already down is such a tease
19:17 eesh
Great run, thanks Retro. Would love to see what +explosion size looks like on a character like this.
Ogre is so satisfying to play.
Fun run!
Frozen heart with ice cub racks up a lot of bonus damage on bosses.
I guess gonna waiting for a revisit to the mod Brotato about the Abyssal Terror maps. It's gonna be wild.
I found an epic rock once... it's like the epic stick..I miss it
“We want a wave of tiny weenies” made me laugh more than it should have, I’m sorry I have a teenagers brain stuck in a 30yr olds body 😂😂

Ain't no kill like overkill

It's all ogre now.
I think the luck angle on this could be super cool but does feel like you need early pearl or such to go for it

no ranged weapon tho

Yes, but you can just spend that money on something else that would increase your damage by more.
Until a certain point damage% is way better than crit rate so i understand why retro doesn't lean into crit. Probably i would skip crit too
11:28 well, having some life steal isnt detrimental, it is just you need to focus your healing via regen.
taking life teasl over regen is detrimental
Yep, but I skipped it to avoid the harvesting down

@syberfang7890 "free" Is subjective no? They are costing him opportunity money since he can recycle them and look for items that work more
@@LazyNinja421 Also a fair point, I also normally play going towards Endless which can skew how I value things.
