Hey Retro, Just wanted to say your videos bring me a little joy everyday. I'm a lawyer, but you have inspired me to make a vr roughlike menu-based combat game (think pokemon where the moves of each pokemon are customizable) in my freetime. Just wanted to say thanks for inspiration.
Reto; The “Calamari Man” you speak of (iirc) has built in damage reduction, he is an armored enemy, which is evidenced by the muted gray numbers when you hit him.
As you are approaching the end, some none modded runs I'm hoping to see: Diver (they were reworked again) Farmer with Sickle Lucky with Lute Some super OP build that your experience tells you to play that I can't think of
Yeah I just did a run with him and the hp regen and precise weapons thing was there. Was definitely a more interesting character than the iteration that made it into this video.
Not going to lie, after all the new characters I would just want to see an episode about harpoon. To me this weapon seems so cool and I would love to see it in its full glory. (Just as a different note)
I like a good amount of knockback and range weapons with the harpoon. Obviously not a choice here, but when you get that combo it pushes and pulls enemies constantly, keeping them far but not out of reach. Also I think weapons like javelin that scale on melee but are considered ranged should be a great pick for this character.
I played this guy (though pre patch) with ghost flint. Absolutely insane because of the high attack speed, the enemies coming so close to you from the harpoon gun really didn't matter.
How do wrenches and turrets interact? I mean triple dmg turrets that scale with engineering sounds interesting. At least if their shots count as ranged attacks
Anyone notice the max level harpoon gun only does 2 damage. I get it’s to activate the bonus damage but that already happens with cactus projectiles. Harpoon seems incredibly useless
I think there is a correct weapon for this character. It's shuriken right? I know you dont get it from the start but you have a harpoon that you can sell to hyperroll
They can be cursed, but from what I've seen not so cursed that you gain money. The reroll discount item however, can absolutely go negative and make you gain infinite money from rerolling (unless it has been patched)
Without the harpoon you wouldn't have consistent way to hit bosses with ranged attack, so ditching it would be very bad against your main weak point. So ditching it was imo a bad choice. Yes, you were strong, and you got lucky with enemies placing, but if you without it, it might've been detrimental. It also doesn't pull bosses.

I honestly love the incubator boys. Enrages them if you break the tank before they reach it, tank is destroyed if you kill the alien

Then someone in a diving suit heads towards you and hits you in the face with a cactus plant.
They changed the diver a lot, he used to have increased crit dammege on precise weapons on top of the hp regen per melee
I just checked, the Diver has those things you mentioned now, so this video is probably pre-recorded from an older update.

I did my danger 5 run in that version and it was quite OP.

This was fun. I think grabbing the engineering scaling was a good choice.

Cauldron did change the damage numbers, it doesn't show in the stat box probably because it's temporary.
One run that the starfish it's not good is the Pacifist, it doesn't matter if the enemy drop more materials if you don't kill the enemies.
You and another youtuber named Blitz sound very similar. Glad I found you btw I love taking you on any run I do😂

If sunken bell scales off of ranged damage, does that mean it would do a screen-wide diver debuff weakening everyone at once?
The harpoon gun also counts as a ranged attack. Good vs only one target.
Yeah that is why I kept it. However it does pierce so it is good for more than 1 target.

Jack and Ghost might have problems with Starfish given how much damage they take at a base.

Not with this version of the character. Shuriken doesn't do ranged damage.

I just launched the game to give this a go and they took away cacti club as a starting weapon! In fact they took away 8 weapons from it!?

Yeah, but its better to replace it with machine gun/flamethrower
@@asdasdasdasd5502 flamethrower is a bad idea. flamethrower deals elemental damage and doesn't proc the perk.
