Tanks Joey... this always helps me get through Monday mornings.. along with some caffeine. 2024 was difficult! It seemed like my clients were holding their breath until the elections... also many laid off in the film industry
Resolve is so good. Tough to give up MOGRTs, though... I know you can make templates in Fusion, too, but last time I checked it was kind of a clunky process. No question, though, Resolve is amazing.
Seeing companies like Coca Cola investing and using AI with that poor look could just mean one thing, they really don’t care about the final output but cost and getting the message across. Capitalism at its finest.
Their problem is people finding these ads acceptable/good enough. Remember as long as people are buying this crap and have zero standards that won't affect sales- they will keep producing it for cheap. Most people can't tell if they're watching A.I or the real thing.
Hahaha it seems everyone got caught off guard by the thumbnail, myself included, I'm watching this late at the end of the day and my brain froze for a few seconds trying to understand that thumbnail. 😅
I literally had to look at the thumbnail up close just to make sure I wasn't seeing Your face on Jake's body ... but thats exactly what it is lol hahaha
Just think of how excited actual designers would’ve been if they had the chance to make a very warm and homey Coca Cola ad instead of the AI slop they made.
i really like cavalry, i just can't seem to find good fundamental tutorials. even the ones put out by cavalry themselves are not well done and hard to follow. if anyone's got any tips, i thank you.
Kind of... Cavalry really is the closest thing to Houdini on the 2D side. Fusion (imo) is more like a slightly-easier-to-learn version of Nuke. Great app.
@joeykorenman yes fusion can seem easier to learn then nuke because of its great ui ux it does lot of work automatically does lot of things it has like 98% of nukes composting capabilities + most motion graphics tools from after effects + it also have no key frame animation like Calvary which are called modifiers in fusion and much much better 3d and particle system then any other 2d software and it is truly the Houdini of 2d and intact Houdini it self is inspired from fusion Houdini was created decade after fusion with node based system like fusion but only for pbr and realistic simulations + it is now integrated into resolve much better then shitty dynamic link of Adobe . And most people or even resolves top content creator don't know the real power of fusion much. I am planning to make in depth vedios around it and show how it is better then ae+ nuke combined
I will NEVER FORGIVE APPLE FOR ABANDONING PRO VIDEO IN 2011!!!! No matter how good it gets, FCP was the source of unimaginable chaos when Apple decided to cater to consumers instead of pros with FCP X. I'd sooner edit video in Photoshop than ever touch Apple software again.
@@joeykorenman I started on 3/4" A/B roll in 1989 and used everything from Video Cube to Avid everything, Discreet logic, FX Deko etc & started my own shop in 2007 with FCP. 15,000 projects in Apple decides to make FCP X 64 bit and makes those 15k projects unopenable. Been using Premiere ( and Resolve studio now) ever since.
@@hotzenmonster Aaaaaaah 3/4" tape. We were mostly using beta / d-beta, and I spend countless hours logging tapes and babysitting batch digitizing sessions. Kids these days don't know how good they got it, amiright?
Can't wait for that Blender course!
That AI Coke ad just made me switch to Pepsi
Not even a bad AI ad could make me switch to Pepsi, ha!
@joeykorenman dang you're right *tosses Pepsi in the garbage*
Not even a bad AI ad would make me switch to Russia supporting soda brand. That is, if I drank soda in the first place 😇
even after Kendall Jenner's commercial, I still prefer Pepsi to Coca-Loca
A+ level trolling in this thumbnail 👏🏻
Just did my first motion design project using Overlord to go from Figma > AE and loved it!
That Jake/joey thumbnail made me do about 3 double takes.
Cavalry is great! Procedural, vector-based and with endless possibilities.
Oo boy Joey, that thumbnail was freaking me out! Took me a minute to realize it was you as Jake Bartlett, and not a brand new host 😅
The neon sign is bald 😂
C'mon man... shave your head.

Hearing that a lot about the elections. Caffeine is the key to happiness and success, though, so you're gonna make it.
10:02 Team resolve
Same :)

I'm with ya! Fusion is awesome too but I am really enjoying Cavalry as well
I'm a recent convert too!
Exactly. Team Resolve rocks!

Exactly! The problem isn't AI, the problem is capitalism

We need laws to prevent further cultural aberrations like that.

BlenderAE2 for the win!!
Using AI on a such a noteworthy campaign IS the campaign. This isn't cost cutting, it's tactics.
That thumbnail, I know I'm not alone but I didn't even recognize it was you for a minute. Funny stuff, now that's was AI is for lol.
Just think of how excited actual designers would’ve been if they had the chance to make a very warm and homey Coca Cola ad instead of the AI slop they made.
Love the videos!
do NOT make the end of year video shorter!
I'm blaming you when our editors show up at my house with pitchforks.

fusion is real huodini for motion designer

Mum, I've made it. I'm the first person to comment on a SOM video
If I skip the ads and polls this show is 2 minutes long. :)

Yeah, I remember that. It's a shame because FCP was so good! That's what I used for the first 5-6 years of my career. Loved DVD Studio Pro, too.

@@hotzenmonster Loooooved FCP7. No editing app since has been as fun to use. Sigh.
