  • Mrs SlotR bought me a Truspeed hand controller for my birthday (thank you Mrs SlotR)
    I've had it about a month now and I've used it a fair bit, so here's my quick review of it.

    Brilliant Video Dave. I have 2 Truspeed controllers, an MT1 and an Apex. Both are superb, and Steve from Truspeed is a true gent. Looking forward to the next Vid.

    I would like to switch to trigger controllers. We are running Carrera analog with the Carrera wireless controllers. I want to stay wireless, we are going to stay analog, now if I can find combatable wireless trigger shifters....another nice video and happy belated Birthday Dave!

      The slot-it SCP-2 and 3 series are capable of wireless..plus much more.

    Thanks for the video Dave, I just ordered one of these up and I'm going to see if I can't find a rubberized pistol grip for handguns that might work to enlarge it some and give it a better grip. I'll let you know if I find something that works. Cheers!

    I have a couple of the Truspeed controllers minus the brake button and love them.

    • @slotr
      @slotr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah the brake button is a bit odd I guess on a digital track with 4 cars running it would help avoid colliding with a car that deslots in front of you

    It starting to get expensive to watch you Dave. Since I started following you, I've bought three or four magnetic racing kits and this controller. Unfortunately it was dead on arrival and had to send it back to Electric Dreams after doing a thorough inspection and a continuity check of the cable, it just wasn't working.
    I did manage to find a grip sleeve for the handle that fits fairly well. I will do a review and an update when I get the new controller back.
    I didn't like the extended trigger as well as you did as it bumps my ring finger when I use it and you lose some stability when going for the lane changer button. So I'll be sticking with the short one if I ever see the controller again😆
    Thanks for the review!

      It's definitely better if you're all about marginal gains and better lap times and for less than the cost of most slot cars a worthwhile purchase I think

    Good job on the review. I have a question unrelated to the controller. I have been trying to find the piece of track like the one you have just before your control unit with the white markings for car starting location. Can you tell me where I can find it? Thank you kindly

    • @slotr
      @slotr  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've only ever seen it in sets, not sold as a standalone piece, it doesn't even appear to have it's own part number, it carries the same number as the non marked one.

    Does Truespeed make a wireless version If so heard any feed back on them?
    Thinking of doing the same thing you have done Dave but might do some more research before deciding on a controller
    Thanks for the review

    • @slotr
      @slotr  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it seems not. For a short while there was a Scaley digital wireless version via a collaboration with another company but that's all listed as discontinued on their website but as the RJ10 (or RJ11 I can't remember) plug at the Carrera controller end of the supplied wire is a centre clip not the Carrera offset one, you could get standard extension leads and make driver stations where you want to stand more easily than trying to do that with wired Carrera ones.

    Dave , have you reviewed a wireless controller for Carrera track?

    • @slotr
      @slotr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, my shed isn't big enough to need a wireless controller as all 4 drivers stand along the one edge, its' fairly cosy, also, I don't actually think I've got anywhere I could plug the base charger unit into the track, there's very few accessible standard straights that could be replaced with the connecting piece

    • @Gladstone-Gander
      @Gladstone-Gander ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slotr My track is small; 7 foot by 13 foot. I find I like running from the end. That way my head isn't doing the tennis switcheroo. I think my times are better when running from the end. My control unit is right in the middle.

    • @slotr
      @slotr  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gladstone-Gander Makes sense, my track has walls round three sides so I'm more limited for options, the longer Truspeed lead is pretty much enough reach for what I've got
