As a Kenyan this was quite accurate and a good summary. Good Job on spreading the love. Nowadays here in Nairobi our new greetings sound like ''Good Morning my fellow Criminals'' in relation to our president calling us treasonous criminals. Anyway we won. Our president even decided to hold an X Space and dialogue with the citizens. Pride comes before a fall. Am incredible proud of the young people in Kenya who are self aware and progressive and courageous.

Correction from slide 2. The youth in Kenya are 75% of the population not 33%

It is nice to know that a 20yr olders from Kenya have just discovered the inner workings of global lenders in their predatory neo colonial imperialist behaviours within a month while most people have to take a course through University to do so.

    Interesting post , but …
Being a Scandinavian in Kenya with a Kenyan spouse, I have observed and experienced (experiencing)
    - corruption line I have never. Seen anywhere else. In all shapes and forms, bribes, fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation, favouritism. You name it,
And it picked up speed with the Uhuru Jenyatta administration.
He went on a borrowing spree which Ruto continued (and remember that Ruto was vice under Uhuru)
Kenya governments loooves to borrow money because it seems that stealing is easier with loans.
Kenya could have financed the SGR with local money but chose to borrow this facilitating looting of public coffers
The Eurobond was not really necessary but again facilitated HUGE theft.
IMF don’t force countries to take their money! Countries go to IMF for borrowing and the loans come with terms and conditions.
Fighting corruption either public wastage, opulence and misappropriations will change Kenya immensely.
And no talk for now. Now is the time to show actions. Dialogue later.

Tribalism is also another major factor. There have only been two tribes of people that have run the country since its independence in 1964. Divide and conquer has always been their strategy, the colonialists.

@@dblaze9757 it’s an issue because it’s been decided to be an issue by our leaders. It’s their strategy to divide and rule. The genz are now making it clear that tribalism can no longer be their issue.

    Why they protest? Main reasons
    1. Neo colonialism
    2. Corruption, greed, ineptitude by political class & leaders in government
    3. High taxation, bottom up economic model promised by Ruto never implemented
