Personally I like the white exterior colour - however they seem to have a lot of new interesting colours (not just the silver, black and grey) which I am sure will be chosen by more youthful owners
Thanks again Thomas, another excellent presentation. The VW COO gave incorrect figures, VW does not have 30% of the North American market, it's much less. In the US alone, VW has a less than 2% of market share and sales, however that will get better as they increase their SUV offerings. Also, one suggestion, it would be good if you can letterbox the name and title of the people you are interviewing.
@Auto That would be impossible. I believe the Honda CRV has the biggest market share followed by the Ford Explorer. VW is a niche player in the American market because they have made huge mistakes. Here is a link that shows VW car sales stats, it's very small. carsalesbase.com/us-car-sales-data/volkswagen/
Hi Thomas i know i keep asking your advice in regards to what Suv.would be suited for my next car. I like the look of this V.W.T.Cross. do you think that it would be suitable for me as a pensioner. As my good lady and i are struggling to enter & Exit an ordinary car now. Your take on this car would be invaluable to me, as i will be changing my car at the end of 2019. And i would trust your judgement, as you seem to be very knowledgeable, when revewing all the different makes of vehicle's. Thank you in advance 👍
That would be the smaller alternativ to the Ateca. Pretty good ratio of exterior and interior space being offered. Depends on how much space you need and how much problems you have with parking? T-Cross is nice small SUV
Not a bad vehicle, was hoping they'd make a "polo" SUV to sit next to the "golf" suv (T-ROC). However, that steering wheel is lovely, the best one that ive seen from VW
Very good review Thomas, interesting on VW strategy. in the uk the VW mpv is now almost gone, ie, the Touran.. I managed to find a 2.0 TDI R Line below £6700 list price. Uk dealers are reluctant to stock them due to the new T range of vehicles.
Seems silly, I think you'd be silly to go with any other engine in this vehicle. The 1.5 T Petrol is very well suited to this vehicle. They have certainly missed a trick here.
I think my attitude to these cars could change over time. If they really are the only way to provide a comfortable seating position and the comfiest ride for people who don’t care about driving excitement, then I could understand it. You lose some aerodynamic efficiency but you gain comfort. And that is what will matter more and more with self driving. But they have to be electric, and they’re not. It just feels wrong with the way they’re being sold to people right now. And I think people are buying them for the wrong reasons. Cars like the Kona EV or eNiro I can get behind because they’re efficient and not too big. Others I can’t.
Really like this car Thomas any ideas when you will be test driving the car will be very similar to the seat arona but with a bit more refinement i hope i have a karoq 1.5tsi it's a brilliant car so smooth to drive with great build quality but i would consider down sizing in the future thanks for a lovely review
Seems apt that they have Dark Petrol and Reef Blue as colours. Is there an environmentalist working in VWs paint design department who’s trying to send a message maybe?
Thanks Thomas for the video I wish they would import them in Canada because the Golf doesn’t sell here in Canada and the smallest SUV we have is the long wheel base version of the Tiguan and all other manufacturers offers cars in this class.
Great overview of the T-Cross. Love the design and the Reef "Thomas" blue colour! I think it's got more character than the T-Cross. The T-Cross will be on my wish list for next year.
One major issue that everyone seems to miss including VW conveniently, is that the T cross only has 40 litre fuel tank capacity. That's a smaller tank than some smaller cars. Meaning filling up more often and less range of miles. It's a major flaw and vw doesn't even mention it on its brochure.
@@autogefuehl 🤣every other car company puts their tank capacity on the brochure. VW once again hiding things. Skoda Kamiq has 50litre capacity and better interior than its VW stablemate.
T-cross is much more elegant. It has a much better rearbumper design than T-rock: what were the designers thinking when they 'added' those ridiculous lower double chins on its lower rear bumper? Double is better? Those Cayenne like fake exhausts on a tiny 1,0 3-cilinder engine. Audi 's new Q2 derived its rear bumper and lights design straight from the old polo. Now the Audi Q2 looks better than T-rock. VW should take it back.
Hung Nguyen There are many reasons why a EV is not practical for many people. For instance If you a person who travels moderate distances in parts of the world where the infrastructure is primitive, EV does not make any sense. Or Perhaps you enjoy taking your mini suv camping for the weekend out in the forest? You certainly don’t want to find your self with a flat battery while many miles from a charging station. What im getting at is not everyone in the world lives in a city and only commutes. Many of us live in rural areas where EV is just not an viable option
Thomas is love, Thomas is life. Classy, stylish and always on point.
=)
thomas it will be avalaible with panoramic sunroof?
You forgot..."Thomas is blue" ....
Fantastic preview. You are so precise and articulate - I love your presentation style.
thanks feel free to recommend =)
Very comprehensive review well done Thomas
Turquoise color looks very neat

I ordered the white one. Can't wait to get it and drive it!
Cool enjoy!
Esperando que llegue a Chile. Me encanta!!!, cuando lo crearon estaban pensando en mi . Saludos desde Santiago de Chile 🌷

@@solid1378...he just mentioned that 30% of the "own" VW sales are SUVs in the US which is correct.
I really like this car. I'm definitely adding this to the shortlist for my next car.

He is german, so perfection is part of his DNA 😁

@@mthomssen61... I know for sure, Thomas is the best reviewer all over the World!
I am awaiting the cabrio version.
When will it be available?
For T-Roc

How come the UK-spec T-Crosses won’t have the option of the 1.5L TSI petrol like in the SEAT Arona? (at least not from launch)
Not all engines and specs are available from the beginning, that's with every car

Gold colour is very beautiful.
c'est une Dacia ?
wait, no 2.0 200hp tsi?
Can I buy all colors ?👍👍👍
Is this outomatic or normal?
both possible as I said

Yep. VW continues to misjudge the North American market.
get us a T Cross in a EV pack with 60 kWh and we have a winner
I like the front. But in general, it's a little plump looking. In certain colors, it's definitely a car for the grandparents.
Semi-uninteresting cars - but that Tomas blue! Very nice color!
Great overview of the T-Cross. Love the design and the Reef "Thomas" blue colour! I think it's got more character than the T-Cross. The T-Cross will be on my wish list for next year.
Whoops, should have said "more character than the T-Roc!!"

not in Europe. For the South American version u can get one

With a air ride it's a new Polo
Great little SUV.
Thx! 10+
I love this car
SUPER.......
Very nice car, but with no opening sunroof, its a NO BUY!
What is your height mr host? You dwarf the car
This is a good car for Europe and South America....but....I dont see a market for this car....I dunno....VW needs to make a JEEP!!!
look at the vw atlanta........
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looks like a Suzuki more than a VW???
Oh, noch ein Kompakt-SUV. Hier alle Leute die das interessiert:

It's really good, rational and practical car, I own VW, I know :) but I want something more emotional if I would buy a new car.

The front should’ve been so much better.
