Dear Philippines, stop obsessing over Koreans.. matter of fact, stop obsessing over any other race than your own. Filipinos are so beautiful, talented, and have a beautiful culture but they hardly appreciate it.
I love our golden skin tone.. we just need to take care of it. Matter if fact. I use to sunbath and do outdoor activities like hiking and sailing. White skin just hides imperfections that’s why lots of asian women prefer white skin
Filipinos are much more attractive on a world standard than Koreans No attractive people globally think Koreans are attractive If they thought they were attractive they wouldn’t get plastic surgery 🤷🏻♂️
Korea is one of the most SUPERFICIAL countries around. Not all Koreans are, but it's sad to say that a MAJORITY are. As far as being racist to Filipino's, it's the darn new generation. Our Generation. They either never learned of, or completely forgot that the Philippines and South Korea have historically been and continue to be close diplomatic and military allies. They are also significant economic partners in terms of trade, immigration, and tourism. In fact, The Philippines was the fifth state to recognize the Republic of Korea and the first ASEAN country to establish relations with the new nation in 1949. Oh, and guess what...during the Korean War (1950-1953), the Philippines sent its forces to aid South Korea. The Philippines was even the FIRST Asian country to respond to the call of the United Nations (UN) to help South Korea when it was invaded by Chinese and North Korean communist forces. The Philippines played a vital role in helping South Korea win its Freedom and Independence. But who cares about our History of Love and Respect, especially the help we've provided for each other right? The new generation seems to want to start their own "history," and amongst it all, racism and hate for other foreigners. That's sad.
Adding onto that, koreans even claim fried chicken to be their own whilst having a clear prejudice against black people. Those african american soldiers during the war are the reason we even have korean fried chicken in the first place.
@@gozilla001 Thank you. I just can't stand racism in general. It's absolutely sad that people just can't be united, no matter what they are, and where they're from.
@@Geimoonsoon There! More facts in the history of Korea. It's heartbreaking to see the prejudice and racism from Korean's in South Korea. Again, not all of them are racist/ prejudice, but a lot of them are, and it's growing.
Yea, i laughed at that. Or you can say, why are you so pale, did you just came from the hospital? Or are you sick or something. Or are you a vampire? ahahhahah
I'm Asian myself and just because an Asian female is pale it doesn't automatically make them drop dead gorgeous. I'm not into the ghostly look myself. A pretty girl regardless of her skin color makes her physically attractive. What Filipinos love to throw at Koreans is "if they are so beautiful and believe in their own beauty standard, then why the hell don't they ever win or even rank in world beauty pageants given all their plastic surgery?"
Their obsession with soft features and white white skin is not attractive to me. Their pop stars all look like they been under the knife and are undergoing chemo. Skin that’s to pale is not a turn on for me
An entire country needing plastic surgery and still does not place in Ms. Universe has the audacity to look down on other people. They need an attitude plastic surgery.
Wow very well said. I always feel like deep down they have an inferiority complex about their look and that's why their cosmetic surgery thrives and becomes best in the world. They're SUPER superficial like some other commenter said and it's really sad.
Older Generation Koreans respect Filipinos. They still remember the Sacrifice and Support of Filipino Soldiers during the Korean War. I met a lot of them here in the US and also in Korea when I was in the US Army.
As if they care. Many of them never lived through that and only care about the height they have reached now being the luxury military base of the US. Their military and defence was basically taken care of by the US for decades which allowed them to focus elsewhere.
Interesting that they'll put Filipinos down but they have no problems going to the Philippines to go to school to learn English and also to live there and take advantage of the more affordable lifestyle. Of course the ones who does genuinely appreciate the Philippines are the exceptions!
Those who come over to learn are the good ones. They see another culture and appreciate that there is more to life than the pursuit of beauty and money.
probably the reason also when they compare Steve Perry to Arnel, I was at the page and talk about people who are DEAD SET into SP. They dont care for AP.
As Mexican I like Filipinos more, they’re more like us, family oriented, hard workers and similar food, plus the ladies are more curvy and prettier naturally, no surgery.

I live in Canada and am not Korean. Back in high school, when I had Korean friends- when we hung out in the group they’d just start talking exclusively in Korean even if there were one or two of us that understood nothing. Most of them were born in Canada too. Idk what was up with that. I can speak Chinese and a bit of Japanese but I wouldn’t ever alienate a member of the friend group like that. If we hung out in a group with several of us who know how to speak Chinese and one girl who doesn’t- we’re going to speak English.
sometimes ppl do it just to practice their native tongue. as living in a foreign country, they don't get much chance to speak it and can quickly forget. so if there's like 5 ppl in the group and 2 ppl are having a conversation between them, they can often devolve into speaking their native tongue. and if that happens with another 2 ppl talking between themselves. it could look like they are alienating you, when actually that is a unforeseen consequence they hadn't noticed.

I grew up facing enough subtle racism being one of the few Asians in my town (80s-early 90s) and as one of only 3 Filipinos let me just say, it was rough enough dealing with the white kids, let alone the majority minority Koreans, who formed cliques and later gangs in high school. I had a Korean best friend when I was in middle school, but his parents hated me. Once we hit high school, he dropped me as a friend and joined the K-clique. I never knew why until I heard from a mutual Korean acquaintance that his church encouraged their youth groups to only be part of the Korean community and that other Asians (especially Filipinos) didn’t make for quality friendships. That hurt me to the core because me and my former friend were SO tight.
Ye she clearkh hasnt actually lived in korea but only visited. I lived 1 yr there and u dont get to disrespect them back. That woukdnt have been safe. I now live in mexico and i have to say the people are much much kinfer than in korea.
I hate to say it but you are right. I lived in Korea for 14 years, my wife is Korean, and we have a hagwan there still today. They will call the police on you and the police will take their word over yours. You can even be prosecuted for saying an exasperated curse word in English. If the person is older than you, especially if they are elderly you are completely out of luck as they can make stuff up completely out of no where. Older people will shoulder check you, even the ajummas (middle aged married women) and harmonies (grandmas), and you can’t respond. I’m a white American and because my wife and I have a hagwan our students would always tell us that their parents would say we are rich, who many times would try to create incidents in an attempt to sue us or try to get free tuition. My wife is a graduate of Yeonsei University (similar to Princeton) and she is always the target of gossip, jealousy, and innuendos by students mothers. US Embassy is useless and staffed by Koreans or Korean Americans!!! Unlike America, you can be prosecuted up to three times for the same crime if the accuser feels dissatisfied with your punishment or if you are somehow found innocent. If you ever end up in court, even if the police are on your side (a rarity), you are 99.9% chance to have a guilty verdict handed down against you. This of course is similar to Japan, who Koreans are taught to hate through their public school system. They say Japan and Japanese culture is great without Japanese people. Filipinos, Vietnamese, and other Southeast Asians are used for dangerous factory jobs, and they are severely looked down upon. I remember when I first landed in Korea to work. I was told that Korea is for Koreans and that when Koreans become proficient enough in English that there would be no use for foreigners to teach anymore since Koreans would be the teachers of English then. Anyways, there’s a lot more that my 14 years could say, but I think you get the point. Don’t get me wrong. Korea is a very modern country and a very convenient place to live. The racism doesn’t bother me per se, except when the law gets involved and your word as a foreigner means nothing. I remember when I first got my permanent residence card in Korea a foreigner who had been there longer than me told me that I was finally half human. Anyways, if you go to Korea for one year, maybe even two years you can get by with no problems but the longer you stay the higher your chances are of getting caught up in a situation, which will be very unfortunate for you.

Flaunting wealth was definitely a thing back then (15-20 years ago) but that happens everywhere. Around that time I met a few outliers but they weren't the norm (but are more common now apparently).

Wow great

I'm Asian myself and just because an Asian female is pale it doesn't automatically make them drop dead gorgeous. I'm not into the ghostly look myself. A pretty girl regardless of her skin color makes her physically attractive. Why do Koreans think that their beauty standards should be the end all and be all. It’s not exactly a universally attractive standard.
Their ideal beauty is quite “alien-looking”… big eyes, small oval head with a pointed chin, pale skin, small nose..👽
Their obsession with soft features and white white skin is not attractive to me. Their pop stars all look like they been under the knife and are undergoing chemo. Skin that’s to pale is not a turn on for me

sometimes ppl do it just to practice their native tongue. as living in a foreign country, they don't get much chance to speak it and can quickly forget. so if there's like 5 ppl in the group and 2 ppl are having a conversation between them, they can often devolve into speaking their native tongue. and if that happens with another 2 ppl talking between themselves. it could look like they are alienating you, when actually that is a unforeseen consequence they hadn't noticed.

That hurt me to the core because me and my former friend were SO tight.

Korean women are ok. But K media way overrated. In global scene, they are no where in the top 20.

There are big communities of Koreans in Mexico especially Mexico City and Monterrey Nuevo Leon and they are happy because in Mexico they are accepted versus in Korea are considered i.e. Too 'fat', judged for being divorced or not being rich enough, or not having surgeries etc.etc.🇲🇽
Did not know that there are S.Koreans living in Mexico considering that they have to learn Spanish. I noticed that too in my travels to the Philippines. There are many Koreans living there. They even have a Korean Town like we have in L.A.. Maybe these folks are tired of the toxic environment living in their own country considering they have the highest suicide rate in any country. It used to be Japan, I supposed they have overtaken the latter.

I love this girl. She is the true beauty standard for me
Bold of them to have such a mindset, when Filipinos were part of the forces that helped South Korea when North Korea was winning against them.
Korean: why are u so dark?
Sudan people: you think she's dark?
lol she is light skinned to me
@@gibememoni Same lol. The same beauty standards regarding skin tone also apply in the Philippines, but my mom has always gotten so much praise for her skin even if she's basically the same exact skin tone as this girl..
Kind of shocking that there's people in Korea who say she's "dark." She's no where near by the stretch of the imagination "dark" AT ALL lol. Like is Korea really that crazy enough that people are actually striving so hard to look like paper?
I became a fan of kdrama's and kpop back in 2008 and it made me want to become friends with the koreans from my school. It didn't take me long to realize most of them only wanted to be friends with other koreans and kept a tight circle.. I'm also aware of how foreigners are treated in Korea.. basically everything she said, I learned over time. I still love kpop, kdrama, and kvariety but I would never live in Korea
A lot of it is Nationalism to keep blood pure due to Japanese imperialist. I had couple Korean ladies likes me a lot in a Christian boarding HS - late 80's early 90's. But couple Korean boys were against it. I had a lot of problem with few Korean boys. Oddly, they both married white American ladies - the hypocrisy.
@@loveblindhate9318 Yeah it's weird. From what I've read, to be a "real" Korean, your father has to be Korean. Children who only have. Korean mother can have a hard time being accepted from anyone who's more traditional.
@@hpr2008 Its not weird, its cultural. Its like having first child a boy is utmost important. Few mixed kids with Vietnamese mother friends I had had that problem too. They were like the rejects in their cultural society.

filipina women are beautiful, family oriented, kind, hard working, and definitely my #1 choice
It’s interesting that both south and North Korea represent two different types of dystopian societies.
Koreans should be thankful that the Phillipines helped them in the Korean war. I mean: 92 filipino soldiers died in the Korean War, and a lot more were wounded.
36,000 Americans were also killed in the Korean War and they seem to forget that.
Exactly we don't deserve this to be honest i dont wanna bring back what happened way back before in 1950's which you guys from south korea if we didn't help you did you think your alive right now come to think of it but there are some korean let filipino do this (reminder) just to remind those korean who do racist to my fellow filipino don't go to our country you don't deserve to be treated in a nice way and another reminder make sure your skill is better than us now i'm wondering why most of the company in korea asking for a filipino to work with them reality check because we are better than you guys another one what we recieved is what you will get this is for those korean out there who do racist not only in filipno but in general hey wake up or you know what better not.

Your awesome I’m Filipino I’ve experienced this from Koreans but it’s not just Korean others too . There’s always rude people who think they are better than others
Some friendly advice :
1) don’t spend so much energy worrying what other people think of you or how they perceive you.
2) not all Koreans are the same
Yeah I feel like a lot of people tend to generalize when it comes to countries
Very good points and advice! People need to learn not to stereotype.
Don’t forget we helped their asses when the Korean War was around
don't want ur poor ass. developing nations have such a inferiority complex that they hear one thing and that becomes the face of a country. jeeez. if ur so offended, get a helmet or u want a cookie?
They forgot that Philippines and Thai helped SK

Some couldn't even been born if it weren't for them
I'm a Filipino, and back in college I was friends with a Korean girl who hates other Koreans for the exact reasons you described 😂
I taught for the EPIK Program for seven years. I have never met people so unpleasant to be around as Koreans. People ask me how Korea was, and I never have anything nice to say about Korea. With the exception of Busan and Jeju. Koreans there were very nice to me.
Because they cannot accept that Filipinos are far better than they are. Its painful for them but the heck, it’s true.
Now, now....they aren't better. They are all the same.....Human Beings.
Yesss, the saying is it's more fun in the Philippines. I've been to the Philippines and it absolutely is more fun. It's especially more fun than Korea.
Sorry but that "we're better than them anyway" sounds needlessly bitter amp 😂
Idk one eats out of dumpster literally and is judgemental while Koreans are nice and clean
That type of thinking is just as narrow and wrong as the racist Koreans.
Filipino here. Thank you for your candor and for calling out anyone with that type of mindset.
Oh, and you’re also really, really pretty. Natural and really pretty.🙌🏽
While here, in the Philippines we treat foreigners like they are our family 😢 yeah we have beauty standards here in Philippines but still some Filipinos prefer respect than the appearance
Nothing compete with natural beauty. If all the trees and the maountain exactly the same.. there is no beauty in it.
"Just because you're Korean does not make you BTS and does not make you BlackPink." EXACTLY. Preach!!!
I totally agree with you. I work with a lot of Korean in Australia and they treat other like you just said sadly.
Ok this makes SO much sense cause I hang in the same circle as a bunch of Koreans (in the US), and I just not understand why I could never become good friends with them and they pretty much were only close with each other.
Also coming from a rich family (not me just my extended family) the idea of flaunting your wealth is so odd to me.
Its bc most koreans arent actually rich. Its like a new rich. Showy and quick to run out!
This woman in this video is telling golden truth. I once roomed with a young Korean male in the 1980s during college. He was viciously racist even Black people would come up to me as a white male and be like are you OK? He all his friends Were extremely exclusive if you were not Korean in their eyes, you were basically human garbage. I kind of kept my distance from him, but I noticed back in the 80s young Korean, American boys and girls. They did not like people of other races and I thought it was so sad it even included bigotry towards Chinese people I mean, like come on seriously?
Black people would come up to you because they know racism is wrong regardless if you're a white male. No one knows cares about racism until the day comes when it happens to you and you see how hurtful it is.
Brit married to a pinay. I explained the "beauty standards" to my wife and all her mates when I first visited. I said in all of the west. You turn up that pale and skinny. Everyone will be asking if your alright or if you need to go to the docs/hospital. We only look like that when your about to die 😂
I also explained how hilarious it was. They fly a few hours on a cheap flight to a cheaper country then try to act rich. We just kept laughing at them. Ohhh so your the poor Koreans, who can't afford to holiday in places like Europe or America 😂
I’m Chinese/Japanese and have been mistaken for Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese, Hmong, and even Samoan, but NEVER have I felt offended for being classified as these ethnicities.
Well Vietnamese are by far the best looking Asian. Offend? No, you should take it as a compliment.
That's you though. I have a chinese friend who gets offended every time someone says she looks Filipino, i never quite understood why
dahh! Vietnamese aren't good looking
@@OGtruthserum Haha! I didn’t take it as either as complimentary or offensive. I wouldn’t go as far as to say one group of Asians is more attractive/uglier or smarter/dumber than another. That might be your viewpoint, but I view things differently: I have found beauty in all races and ethnicities. Conversely, I have also found ugliness in those same races and ethnicities. I believe ethnocentrism is a very limited way to see the world, but that is your prerogative to do so.
@@mitchLC148 Yes, it is; thanks for pointing that out. That is why I used the first-person singular pronoun that refers to the person writing/speaking, I, in my comment to denote that I was speaking for only myself and not for your friend or others.
The next time you see your friend, perhaps ask her why she gets offended for being mistaken for being Filipina. Maybe she doesn’t like Filipinos or looks down on Filipinos. Maybe she is simply irritated that no one can guess her ethnicity. It’s all presumptive until you ask her. 🤷🏻♂️
My country fought for you back in 1950, I hope the North and South unify in peace, as a Filipino.

Thank you for that. I’m a person of mixed heritage, but I do identify as a Black person. my brother was going to go to Korea to teach English, but when they found out that he identified as a Black person suddenly all the positions were full. He was so hurt by this, but I told him if they don’t want you in their country because your Black deal with it. By the way, you are a very good looking young lady and I’m glad you stick up for yourself and don’t let anybody throw that negative energy upon you👍🏾
Korea has to be my least favourite country, they take so much from us yet want nothing to do with us
I went to South Korea for a holiday last December, and wow they were rude.
I take an extra second or two to grab cash from my bag and the convenience store owner would slap the table and shout: FASTER FASTER and tells the person behind me to step up.
A few days later had a Korean guy click his tongue at me for passing something to him too slowly.
On public transport they'd always try to push past you.
By the end of the trip, I was absolutely over the rudeness, and reciprocated their attitude back to them.
Third world country that became rich too fast
Seems like they can't relax, chill, nor slow down at all.
If you want to know what Koreans look like without all that plastic surgery, just look at the North Koreans.

You know what’s crazy. Some Filipinos can be like this towards their own as well.
Unfortunately, you are right. I was treated this way by a Filipino in the Philippines. I’m an American born Filipino with a hella lot of freckles. I was asked why I didn’t want to take care of that while she made the crinkly grossed out face. I was appalled and insulted.
Yes, because us Filipinos are whitewashed and we are also kpop washed. So washed they want to bleach our skin
Yes, approx 50% Filipinos are like this because of all the media brainwashing and false rich culture. True Filipinos are not like this so if you find one, you found a gem.
Probably coz they don't often see freckles here? I noticed that whatever points someone might get for being fair-skinned here get negated by freckles. "She's so mestiza BUT look at those freckles!"
@yelmolahat8 I think it's not necessarily white washed. First of all: white people have freckles too. I'm European and have a LOT of freckles. Second of all, people tend to strive for looks that most people in their area don't have. So Europeans want to be tanned and Filipinos want to be pale. While there is nothing wrong with this, looking or talking down on people because they don't look this way is of cause not OK.
They study English in the Philippines and they’re proud of it.

Also Mahindra an Indian conglomerate faced so many issues with Ssangyongs upper Korean management that they decided to divest from them after 10 years or ownership apparently due to racism towards the Indian managers (this despite the fact Mahindra saved Ssangyong from bankruptcy in 2011 from then Chinese owners SIAC)
Even just a generation ago it was way different. Some of the Koreans I knew/know were the most humble you'd ever meet regardless of being incredibly talented. Flaunting wealth was definitely a thing back then (15-20 years ago) but that happens everywhere. Around that time I met a few outliers but they weren't the norm (but are more common now apparently).
The uber rich has eaten korea, leaving no hope left for the average citizen, who now can only find temporary comfort in mindless consumerism
I am so happy that I read your comment . Because it give me confirmation that I’m not crazy . I remember 15 to 20 years ago Koreans & Asians in general were so beyond humble.
