The new Montage M8... Journey of unboxing and trading my old Montage 8,... Yamaha; I love you!

- When I saw few videos online I thought, I really like this keyboard and felt definitely worth upgrading my existing Montage 8 into the M8.
Guys (and Gals) I have to say; this is a completely different keybaord altogether... even the keys of a fully weighted hammer action feels much lighter and an absolute "JOY" to play.
Powering on unlike other instruments is super fast, I think taking about 10 seconds or so, the initial sounds that Yamaha has put in on the initial pages are what I was hoping to hear, it honestly feels like the instrument is talking to me.
The new dual screen system makes editing a breeze, this is unliek the old Montage it simplified pretty everything and now I could easily focus on content rather than finding the right setting or sound even.
Although the wheels are the same however the controls over the wheels are totally new and makes sense, without doing any custom selections or assignments as you can see out-of-the-box feels like a complete instrument.
I initially went to Andertons to see if I could buy then, however I could not see the person I always deal with, the person in the shop did not give me a great value for my Montage-8 so decided to keep looking, gone back home, then an email came in from Bonners Music with the instrument also available there, I called in and thanks to Bonners Sales; I had a great deal to go ahead, paid my deposit and was looking forward to see it soon, it didn't take long to get the new instrument, I think only about few days and the email came in with (all good to go), ... excccited...
So, there you have it, the Montage-M8 in all bells and whistles,... is an absolute beast and is the best keyboard I've ever had.
I will make more videos hopefully as the time goes by... just need to pay some bills first :)

It is an absolutely beast of an instrument, sadly been extremely busy over the past few weeks, very keen to finish what I am working on to get back to do some music and some more videos.

Lacking PAT though, and only has 16 AN-X voices…weak compared to other VA engines.
Hi @@X22GJP , for me it did exactly what I was hoping to have, personally I'm very happy with the instrument and feel it's the best I've ever had. I appreciate it might not be your cup of tea, hopefully with how good it is perhaps it would change your mind at some point, thanks

I imagine you did this already, but if it didn’t have the latest firmware installed be sure to install it. I noticed the PAT worked better afterwards.

Of course, have been a little busy over the past 2 days, but did play with the instrument for hours, the UX is brilliant, and certainly will be posting another video showing more about the instrument within the new few days, no worries mate.

Almost done, another video coming up hopefully it covers all what you asked for, hopefully you'll like my review. One thing to mention, I only realised that I should've kept the lights on at 3am to get a better quality video... anyhow, it's currently processing by TH-cam and should be ready within the next few hours or so.

what brand of Z stand is that? I'm looking for a Z stand with a second tier and that one must be pretty robust to support a heavy board like that on the second tier.

Thank you for asking, the stand is my favourite, it is the Hercules stand, fully adjustable and takes good weight... the brand is: Yellow Text with a circle right in the middle of the H letter, I wish I could post you a link I don't know if TH-cam would allow it. But you get the idea.
By the way, I nearly finished another video to showcase the instrument 7 days after getting it, currently processing the videos and should be up within the next few hours hopefully. I hope you find it useful.

@@HeiderSati that's freaky! I was just looking at a youtube video of their stands and visited their website literally an hour ago! not sure where they sell them around here. I was going to go with a quik lok, most likely. cheers from "the states."

I had quicklok over 20 years ago, at the time they felt a little wobbly with just one instrument... I hope they improved their product range, ...
Anyway, I currently buy from a UK shop called "Andertons Music" , they also do TH-cam videos a lot on instruments and latest stuff etc,... If I am not mistaken I've seen some banners on their videos saying "we ship worldwide" -or- "we shop to Europe"... they are about 20 minutes drive from where I live, ... try to reach out you'd never know,... good luck either way Connor.

@@HeiderSati it appears to be part of a conglomerate called "KHS America." I'd never heard of them until today. I actually drove right by their warehouse 2 weeks ago when I was on vacation in Nashville, TN.

Many thanks for your message, yes, I love the instrument.
The stand is "Hercules" the logo looks like a yellow text on a black background with a circle crossing the "H" of Hercules, I got mine from Andertons music in Guildford/UK (they have a website), someone asked me earlier a similar question tried to post the links but TH-cam kept removing them.
