First whitetail i ever shot was last year in November it was my first time and got a nice 8 point buck with my friend who lives up there in Michigan. Definitely gonna go back next season. We were listening to Fred Bear in the truck on the way to the deer stand.
Actually I hunt both every year. MI is ‘easier’ But let me just say it’s private land both places. I’ve never hunted MI public but I hunt FL public every year and I’ve never gotten a deer with a bow :-(
I love you ted, but I don’t know I grew up in Michigan hunting and proud lake off of the Pontiac Trail. Yeah I was a youth so I had adults helping me but I shot a deer with a bow and arrow now I’m in upstate New York and it’s taking a lot of adaptations the deer move different it seems like the spooky differently. We got swamped bucks in Mountain bucks and going back-and-forth. I love Michigan Whitetail but I think these East Coast ones I’ve had so much pressure for so long they become even smarter.
Proud lake rec is loaded with deer and used to people (that are not hunting them)A little different that what Fred was talking about. A lot of state land especially in northern Michigan sees very little activity all year until hunting season then all the sudden gets flooded with hunters. They get real edgy when that happens. I’m sure it’s the same in upstate New York
Yeah he used to hunt for real my grandfather beat Fred bare in a archery competition the biggest black bear Ted clams he harvested in the upper peninsula of Michigan the U.P in gogibic country he was sitting in camp corkscrew on the wast side of Lake gogibic playing cards with my father and got a call they had a bare treed on the east shore no true hunting or work involved on his part
Go to Central North Carolina,, I love you to death Ted but you can hand feed them deer up there, try that here no such luck, hey man I love you and I appreciate everything you do for the hunters keep it up Love you man
