Wow, this classic machine is absolutely stunning! I would love to print a model of it for my Digital Kid. It's amazing to think that this is where it all began. Thank you so much, Sir.

I printed the first version from your site and it printed out great. Would love to try the one with a front and a back when you're ready to release it to the wild. So much fun. Thanks!

Can I ask what you used to design this? Sketchup maybe?

Thanks! I’m on version n+1 now. I’m planning to release an enclosed motor shortly

      @@dennisjeske3629🔴 What Is Islam?
🔴 Islam is not just another religion.
🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
📖 { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4) 📚
🔴 Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
🔵 Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.

Hi Rob, this looks great! I haven't watched the rest of your videos yet, but do you think this could be used in an automaton to make it like a wind up toy? I'm very new to the automaton but I'm finally looking into everything more and maybe eventually make my own.
Love the videos, thanks so much for making them!!

My brain can`t understand what allows the fork to move back and forward, and why it does not stuck in one position without a second spring. Can somebady explain me that like I`m 5?

Amazing. I am thinking if you could slow it down a bit more and attach a clock hand and a number dial and make a timer from it.

      Sounds like a plan!

That's really interesting, thanks for the close-up demo. Does the escapement/fork just provide a little speed control? It seems like it keeps it from running away too fast. I've only seen escapements in clocks, so this is a new concept for me.

Thanks Ben, Yeah, the escapement controls the speed of the motor. Without im the spring explosively unwinds in around a second!

You've got the verve! How do you feel about helping me design a perfect clock. Probably larger gears, quadruple jeweled or roller bearing for ultra low friction, and then a Harrison style escapement with a few improvements, what do you say? You can search for me through my videos

Are you using PLA or ABS for the flexible parts?

This is so cool! I'm trying to learn about building a clockwork motor for one of my grad projects, and I'm trying to understand what the fork/escapement does in this motor? Is it part of the timing?

    • @BriannaBeastMode

I have a feeling the escapement in this device really does absolutely nothing other than destroy the teeth lol. It's not really doing any escaping, it's just bouncing off the teeth of the "escapement gear". Interesting attempt, but, I wouldn't call it a success other than it moves.
