Let's hold our horses. I have heard many things about this incident, but let's allow the matter to follow its legal course for now. For some context, let's look at how wild Nepal is, and you can make your own conclusions based on that. This is what I learnt while trekking in Nepal two months ago. We think that Nims now is a brand, and it mustn't be too hard for him to run his company as people come to him instead of him chasing after them. That's not the entire truth. There is always a Mafia network in Nepali business (and politics, and everywhere else you look at). The mountaineering mafia is still doing their best to ostracise him as he is seen as an outsider, and also, he is not a Sherpa. People who work for him have been repeatedly beaten up simply because they work for an outsider, even at base camps, while assisting tourists to the summits, exposing an ugly face of mafiaism of Nepali mountaineering to the westerners. So pathetic! He is so much under pressure and struggles to retain staff due to this. Remember, 14 peaks? He was so vocal about the support for the climbing community of Nepal, way more than one should. If you were aware of the context, you would understand why he was under pressure to say so. You can surmise the rest. And lastly, don't you think he doesn't have "it" to run a successful mountaineering company in Nepal? In a fair world, does he really need others as his co-directors in the company? Why did he share the ownership of the company with others? And who owns the Yoho Television? Think about it.
Nirmal Purja you could lose all your name and fame. Money can be earned back, but trust cannot be. I highly suggest compensating the victim. You are our national hero. But its all up to you either to just get famous with records or be hero from good deeds as well.

I have heard many things about this incident, but let's allow the matter to follow its legal course for now.
For some context, let's look at how wild Nepal is, and you can make your own conclusions based on that. This is what I learnt while trekking in Nepal two months ago.
We think that Nims now is a brand, and it mustn't be too hard for him to run his company as people come to him instead of him chasing after them.
That's not the entire truth. There is always a Mafia network in Nepali business (and politics, and everywhere else you look at).
The mountaineering mafia is still doing their best to ostracise him as he is seen as an outsider, and also, he is not a Sherpa.
People who work for him have been repeatedly beaten up simply because they work for an outsider, even at base camps, while assisting tourists to the summits, exposing an ugly face of mafiaism of Nepali mountaineering to the westerners. So pathetic!
He is so much under pressure and struggles to retain staff due to this.
Remember, 14 peaks? He was so vocal about the support for the climbing community of Nepal, way more than one should. If you were aware of the context, you would understand why he was under pressure to say so.
You can surmise the rest.
And lastly, don't you think he doesn't have "it" to run a successful mountaineering company in Nepal? In a fair world, does he really need others as his co-directors in the company? Why did he share the ownership of the company with others? And who owns the Yoho Television? Think about it.
