- This week I visit the Crick Boat Show and try to show everything it has to offer including a few boat tours, as we all love a nosey in a new narrowboat don't we?
Without going into too much detail on here I will list the Boat builders I got chance to see including:

I also got chance to socialise in the Aquavista Tillers and Tankards tent, along with the Crick Tavern beer tent before the storm and torrential rain hit. But this didn't spoil our weekend as there were so many wonderful people to meet and trade stalls to visit, including Elite Furnishings who make bespoke furniture for boats.
One of the favourite parts of the show for me besides the camping with wonderful friends was all the wonderful historic Narrowboats - The old working boats and to meet in person with Kate Saffin from alarumproductions.org.uk/ performing the tales of women of the waterways.

Looks like mud is pretty universal and rain has the unique ability to seek out a party. Add a little, or a lot of rum and it's a muddy rave. What a great time to make friends, blow a bankroll, and get wet. Great vlog today shows the world is pretty much the same wherever you go.

How to polish a pirate's chimney:
It's not so easy to pirate a ship. Then along comes a chimney, to polish the tip.
To some it comes easy, with the slight of the hand.
And some just don't get it, when rubbing two hands.
It's all just so easy, when you practice with care,
Just don't rub so hard, and get it in hair, So slow and study is the way it is done, , just look before you're finished, that's what is fun.
The boating community is truly the friendliest of people.

oh this was fantastic, there's nothing like this here in the USA! Special thanks to Kate Saffin for her research about women on the canals. I've ordered both books. Thank you, Heidi, for posting the website she's on. Can't beat friends like Fiona and Jude. Super information about narrow boats, new and old (I love the old ones) ... and about house-boats, at least that what we call them here, boats without engines. Really appreciate how much time it takes to produce these vlogs. Thank you!

Heidi GREAT Video!!! I always thought about retiring to a southern state (from the USA) and live in a tiny house. After seeing the boats with no engine, I now have to rob a bank, move to the UK and retire in a marina on one of those beautiful boats!!! 😂😂😂. Bonny did so good in all that rain and mud. Hello Heidi ... what a wonderful fun festival and so many fascinating things to see .. Thank you for taking us along. I loved everything. I am guessing that Bonny was not very impressed with all the rain but everyone had a grand and glorious time and it was so much fun windows shopping the posh boats and seeing the vintage ones.
