    Hey guys! I really apologize for the diet talk at the beginning. We try really hard to be transparent with you and this is something I'm currently tackling. BUT I did not at all take into consideration that it might be triggering/harmful for some and I'm truly sorry. Hope you can skip ahead and enjoy the rest of the episode! xoxo Gossip Girl (Allison)

    I definitely related with Allison when she said, “my instinct is that if someone finds out I’m interested in them, they’ll be like, ‘gross’”

    I was DEFINITELY anxiously attached to my ex-girlfriend, but with my current boyfriend I’m completely securely attached. Maybe it can depend on the other person’s tendencies and the relationship health too? She was more avoidant, so I became more anxious, and my boyfriend now is secure so I am too. You’re not stuck in one type!

      It’s like the rat test. You put a rat in a cage with a big red button. Every time they press the button food will come out. The rat will press the button when it’s hungry and go about it’s business idk doing it’s rat errands.
      But say you have the same situation except the button only give food SOMETIMES. The rat becomes obsessed with this button and becomes addicted to the satisfaction of food due to it scarcely receiving it.

    Hm, actually, according to Attachment Theory, there are FOUR types of attachment (and they're not split 50/25/25). There are Secure and Insecure attachments as sub-headings, but under the insecure umbrella there are Avoidant, Ambivalent, and Disorganized.
    Disorganized attachments are typically seen in those with traumatic and/or troubled relationships with their parents, and they're not necessarily hot-and-cold, though they can be. Most often it's often trying to meet both needs at the same time. A chronic need to seek comfort and love out of a desperate need for it but also actively pushing people away and feeling like the attempts of others to supply comfort actually hurt (but they don't know why). They often push away out of safety, protection and mostly a negative self concept *and* negative world view. The others involve a positive self concept, negative world view, and then vice versa. Hope that helps.

    • @TheGroovyJones
      @TheGroovyJones 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Don't feel pressure to flip a switch to 100% plants instantly; feeling like a failure if you give in to a chicken nugget isn't going to help you grow. The path that works for me is to make an effort to find the ways of eating plants that are delicious to me, do it as much as I can, and take the wins on those meals. Positive reinforcement is so much better for achieving goals.

      I was vegan when i was 8 amd it was hard but extremely rewarding. I was a but overweight but it was a very unhealthy kind of over weight and veganism helped. But on order to get all the vitamins and things that i needed it was a bit pricy so ive never gotten back to being a vegan again

    • @baumulrich
      @baumulrich 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nyahjones2213 depends on how old you are obviously. also talk to your mum about it, maybe you can work something out with her? it is possible and healthy to eat only whole plant foods at any stage in your life, but it might take some unlearning of habits and relearning of portion sizes. (greens and beans are less choleric dense than fatty meat, you will have to eat more)

    WOW the explanation of avoidant was so what I needed to hear about an ex I've been nostalgic for lately. He used to react SO DIFFERENTLY one day to the next. Very vulnerable and communicative on one date, but then so closed off and distant when trying to make plans for the next. Would express such real emotions but was so hard to pin down. I like to think I'm somewhere between stable and anxious, but this guy's behaviour made me FULL ANXIOUS. The mixed signals gave me whiplash. ((I also think he might have been depressed, but that's neither here nor there)) Thank you for the words! And congrats Igor!

    Allison, I so wish you had a Wordpress blog or something. Man, it'd be so awesome to pick your brains in the comments section, kind of like an Ask Me Anything/Q&A-style thing. The reason why I say that is I just have a hunch that you really want to be understood in greater depth, but don't really feel a sense of peace or connection because these social media venues don't let you be the true you without having to put on a performance or try to be entertaining. Just my two cents!

He would tell me that he didn’t want too full on a relationship, and I’d be like alright whatever. It was stupid. Now I’m with a secure, it’s so much better and I’m learning so much. @@stormylovely8912 So, abused children have this paradoxical relationship with their parents. The caregiver is supposed to be a source of comfort and protection, but when they respond to the child's fear/upset by scaring the child more or becoming upset themselves, the child is never able to regulate their emotions. This is often referred to as "fear without a solution." It typically results in disorganized patterns of behavior, confusion, and disorientation. Whereas people with anxious attachment will have approach motivations due to fear of abandonment, and people with avoidant attachment develop avoidant behaviors, people with disorganized attachment exhibit both approach and avoidant motivations. They are simultaneously afraid of abandonment and fear their partner themselves.

    Those attachment style are for infants. And they don't define the way you'll be your entire life.
    The one for adults are slightly different.

    I'm not seeing any comments about it but what Igor and Alison said about not compartmentalizing my time in my relationship. I definitely am a "this is this time" "this is that time" kind of mentality. Like, I still feel like I can't function 100% in my apartment (my space where I decompress) if my partner is there. This is definitely something I need to work on.

    Allison your comment about people thinking you’re gross because you’ve been rejected so much is most of the reason why I’m in therapy so high five I guess?
    Also love Igor congrats on the happiness!!

    So thank you!
    Maybe I can keep moving forward :)
