Now, missiles, artillery, even RPGs (they're called differently but the name is universal. Also handheld weapons) can auto-lock and close in on a tank from all directions. Sky, front, side back. And even without all those fancy toys any bloke with some chemistry knowledge can make anti tank drones who can zoom in behind the tank and take out the engines.(don't get sidetracked with he next part) I mean look at Ukraine at the start of the war and how effective their literal homemade drones were, ones even i or you could make, nevermind military grade ones. Tanks have become like the horses during WW1 or armoured ships before WW1(Before WW1 military ships, like cruisers and battleships were focused on armour. But as the armour vs weapons race went on, armour was significantly dropped in favour of more firepower since it couldn't keep up with weapon progress) I like tanks too but unfortunately their era is coming to an end. They're big, easy to spot and hit targets. Their most beneficial battleground has become their most disadvantageous (open plains and hilly terain) it might not be in this year or the next 3 years, but in 5 or 10 they'll be completely phased out of militaries

I think of this like the Israeli experience in 1973 against ATGMs. They charged unsupported tanks at the Egyptian army and got ruined by ATGMs. The solution was to use combined arms to destroy or suppress the ATGM threat and then their tanks were effective at doing their job. The Armenian and Russian use of tanks has been to not support them so it's just not a good example to the question in my opinion.

Learn the difference between Karabakh and Nagorno Karabakh. Nagorno means “mountainous” in russian. So, Mountainous Karabakh is a small part of whole Karabakh region. While armenians were majority in Nagorno Karabakh only with 100K people, azerbaijanis consituted absolute majority in Karabakh region with 600K people. When armenians wanted to break away in Nagorno Karabakh, they also did invade whole Karabakh region and displaced 600K people. So, the bigger area on the map is not Nagorno Karabakh, it’s the whole region INCLUDING NK and 7 districts of Azerbaijan.

Artsakh is part of the armenian homeland for more than 3,000 years and was the only part of historic armenia to maintain independence as several kingdoms well up to the 1700-1800s when most of western and eastern armenia was occupied by foreign powers. Azerbaijan and turkey have destroyed armenian culture and heritage within their territories as a part of a larger ethnic changing campaign and a continuation of the genocide of 1915. As recent as 2005, Azerbaijani destroyed more than 11,000 armenian cultural relics in Naxcivan… they are now threatening genocide against the remaining population. There are reports of beheadings and other crimes against humanity… which they have done in past.
According to your logic we should give the mongols half of the old world because a long as time ago they occupied it. Armenians will either learn to live in the present and get along with their neighbours or choose to live in their fictional world and become a another page in history.

@@wimblewomble4751“thousands of years“ is a sentence that’s drastically misused. The Region always has had a mix of different populations, and It was occupied by many empires throughout history. Facing reality (reality being that Armenia has no power to reconquer that territory) is better than to waste further lives. Both nations clearly have a claim on that territory, and Azerbaijan can enforce their claim, even if it’s weaker Historically which is a metric I really dislike because the past can’t give justifications. By that logic the entirety of Iberia should also be „returned“ to the Andalusians because they inhabited it for 800 years, or is that too short of a timeframe for you? Where do you exactly draw the line?
@@brn_4456 until a year ago Artsakh was majority Armenian, as it had been for millenia. I'm not saying it is armenian due entirely to history but I am saying it was almost entirely Armenian from around 2000 years ago up until September of 2023. Any reconquest would be unfeesable and pointless but the refugees of Artsakh should be allowed to return and given saftey agreements and a degree of autonomy

Artsakh/ Nagorno-Karabakh is a region in dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan owning it, however, the ethnicity of the region is Armenian, and would like to join armenia
Also, religious differences, Armenians are generally Christian, Azeris are usually muslim
I will also say that I heavily dislike Azerbaijan for their destruction of an Armenian cemetery dating to at least 1605 with some graves dating back to the 10th century, but the Azerbaijani government destroyed it, and turned it into a training camp. The cemetery was called the Julfa cemetery.
