  • I had my first episode of psychosis when I was 18, while I was a senior in high school. It was a very scary and confusing time for me, to say the least. I was able to get help but it would be several more years before I got an actual diagnosis.
Treating First Episode Psychosis (FEP) is imperative to preventing any further episodes. If you recognize the signs and symptoms in yourself or a loved one, it’s important to get help and see a doctor as soon as possible. All episodes of psychosis should be taken seriously, no matter the severity.

Thank you. My daughter has psychosis and I am desperate to get her help. I am having so much difficulty. She presents very well for a 15-20 minute conversation.

That was a fantastic video. I really appreciate how articulate you are in explaining what happens when you have episodes. My oldest brother is schizophrenic and 68 so I’m still trying but I believe the chance of getting him to take medication at this point is extremely low. I’ll keep trying.

The healthcare system in the USA often fails to provide adequate support, especially in terms of mental health services. Despite the widespread crisis, there is a severe shortage of professionals, resources, and accessible options for those in need of a mental health treatment.

I’d be interested in hearing about your worst experience with psychosis. I work with schizophrenic adults and would like to understand more what they’re going through.

Oof! That’s pretty hard to talk about. Also, I can’t really pick just one. A lot of it was very gory.

I’ll think about talking about it though.

@@lourdes1040 yeah, it was pretty much hard to do anything. I spent most of my time in bed either sleeping or just lying there.

I'm so sorry the medical system failed you so severely. Unfortunately I've heard far too many stories like this 😔

My son is 24 and has been diagnosed with psychosis , he won't take his medication........
He has pills to take one in the morning and one at night,
Or he can have an injection for 1 month then ,he can have them 3 monthly and up to six months, for the rest of his life I guess ?
This is his 3rd episode they think he has schizophrenia early stages ...
How do we convince him that if he takes his meds he will see more clearer 😢😢 and feel better ????
Please if any suggestions would be very greatful 🙏 ❤️

Hi im sorry your going through this I'm on my way to the hospital now my 24 year old niece is not doing well its terrifying to have her be released back to the toxic world she believes she lives in. We need a support system that is going through this similar situation. I believe if all in the family put in their part. They only need a little from us all but in my case it's so discouraging anyway sorry to vent

I tend to not have anosognosia and be psychotic at the same time. Usually I’ll question reality and have hallucinations. It’s sort of uncommon for me to have delusions but I did have a span of about 3 weeks where I believed everything I touched wasn’t really me feeling the things I touched

Oh dang, that one sounds freaky! One of mine was believing that if I saw an object it wouldn’t exist until I touched it, & when I’d touch it, it would multiply. Minds are so wild. I guess I’m the opposite of you, I get more delusions than hallucinations.
