    Excellent video. Follow this video you won't go wrong. For those who say they get barely any water. I suspect he adapter was not fully seated. It's the part you put in before the cartridge. I used some o-ring grease. The temp handle will always move with the flow handle. Temp will not change from what you set it at.

    Well-produced, helpful, video. One minor improvement is to first check that the wall plate screws are long enough before you add the silicon to the back of the wall plate. Mine were not so that Hannah's suggestion to call delta CS resolved the problem. CS was helpful and mailed me longer screws once I supplied the model number on the trim box.

      Use a razor blade, or something you can push the clip down with and it will pop off

      @@ReelBassAction Not all temperature handles can be pried off. First check for a very small hole in the cylindrical part of the temperature handle, kind of hidden behind the lever part. If you find that, it should have a little plug in it, which needs to be pried out with a sturdy needle or the tip of an awl. Then you'll see a set screw in the hole that you'll need to loosen with an Allen wrench. Then you can pull the temperature handle straight off.

    Excellent video. I remove the mixing valve every fall and winterize our cottage. Then in the spring I re-install the valve. Should I lubricate the rubber pieces with the springs on the adapter? Also my hot side is directly in the middle.

    • @danieldoherty5034
      @danieldoherty5034 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pry it off from the side opposite the handle stem. If it’s wobbly, it’s because the screw underneath is loose.

    • @paulgillis4677
      @paulgillis4677 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danieldoherty5034 Yes, there is a screw underneath the temperature handle that probably needs to be tightened. But not all temperature handles can be pried off. Then you can pull the temperature handle straight off, then tighten the screw in the center of the valve stem (using another Allen wrench).

      Insert the handle side over the smaller tab on the control disk, then snap the other side opposite the handle stem onto the larger tab on the control disk.

    Seems like you should lubricate the cartridge. If you don't then A) It will be harder to put in, B) the o-rings will deteriorate faster and C) It might be impossible to get out after years of calcium and mineral build-up, I just damaged mine trying to pull it out after 20 years.

    • @deltafaucet
      @deltafaucet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Brett,
      Thank you for reaching out. Our parts do come lubricated from the warehouse. It is possible that flushing the shower regularly could help with calcium buildup. To do this, turn off the water supplies, remove the cartridge, and turn the supplies back on for one minute. Our products do have a Limited Lifetime Warranty that covers parts (other than electronic parts and batteries) and finishes of Delta® faucets purchased from authorized Delta sellers are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home in which the faucet was first installed. I have included a link below for the warranty information.

    Many people will need to take the handles off before installing a new cartridge. This video kind of misses that point. Now consider a few years of use and hard water like southern California has. It is possible people will be breaking the temperature handle if they don't know how to tilt it before pulling.

      I think you just don’t use the white assembly piece??? I bought a replacement cartridge at Home Depot. I have the pre 2006 valve…there is no way to put that assembly piece in. The Home Depot cartridge did not include that adapter. I think the adapter is for a post 2006 valve. It is very annoying this is not mentioned in the video.
