Bought this from your link. After checking some other sites. It seems it only gets 4 minutes max of flight time. Just wondering if this is true or do you have a guesstimate? Great and honest videos. I'm just getting back in the hobby now that I am retired. Flew Pattern Contest with retractable pneumatic gear when I was 17, do to my wonderful father. Not much foam around back then. Kept me busy and out of trouble. LOL.. I am going to buy everything in your links ON this page except the TX/RX. I started with Futaba over 40 years ago, and I will end with Futaba. Thanks for the videos, from a friend in Central Kentucky.
Abby, those were totally freaking amazing slo-mo shots with that amazingly beautiful sky in the background. Beautiful camera work. And Nate, some totally righteous flying prowess there buddy. Really enjoyed this video.
Nate... just love you two man...I’ve been a fan on the channel since day 1.Abbey is amazing as R C MOM AS WELL.. I don’t have a high dollar education but what I can tell you is is that I love you guys and have watched you for years. And you have led me to buy many RC vehicles just because of the way you rate them.. Hats off to you kids! Family friendly ,no cussing , thank you for what you do ... love you all and of course Popeye and our #1 baby girl......
It had been about a year since I flew the Marlin last Saturday. I had moved on to bigger, faster, retractable landing gear, lights, etc. But I hadn’t flown in a couple months with work being crazy, and getting the middle son graduated from GA Tech, headed to the field with “Easy To Fly” planes- Conscendo, ArrowsRC Viper, Marlin and Husky. The Conscendo is still the plane after a year to start the day off with after a few weeks away from the field, just to get comfortable with the DX-12 and spacial awareness. The Husky you can takeoff, fly and land with your eyes closed, but once again I forgot how much fun the Marlin was. It’ll fly pretty fast, with full flaps and a little help with the Admiral 600 receiver it’ll fly at a crawl, and it’s easy to land. There’s now a lot of Beginner jets on the market, but I’m extremely happy you and Abby did this video when you did. I really had no interest in jets, but you made it look easy, and ArrowsRC made the purchase a no brainer at $149.00. (I think when I bought my Marlin it was $129.00) I have batteries now more expensive. Anyway, still a great video, fun EDF to fly, just throw a couple 4s batteries in the truck and enjoy some stress-free flying. (Still have the 2nd Marlin in the box after a year. It wasn’t “if I was going to crash, but how soon?” The 1st Marlin is still unscathed, not even any hangar or truck rash)
I just bought this through your link. I've been flying rc for 30+ years. This will be my son's 1st edf. He's pretty good at RC flight but he now has a Freewing ME262 and wants some EDF experience. Can't wait to see how he does with it.
You guys are awesome- honestly , when I came across your channel the initial impression was meh , but I was so wrong , absolutely love your enthusiasm and its nice to see real reviews showing the good and the bad - that crash and the subsequent next flight of the Marlin convinced me that this is my next plane !! , already got the Eflite F-15 and F-16 Falcon , love the camera work too - very inspiring !!! ..
Just wonderful & full of passion for the hobby. You certainly 'hooked' this Marlin & just maybe I am 'hooked as well. I flew my maiden yesterday of the FMS Avanti, the first time I have flown a non SAFE jet, just wonderful....next week the FMS YAK 130 V2 arrives so will have to work on my confidence. Thank you both! Spring in Australia.
Such a great video of and AWESOME plane. Good.job on this EDF jet. Who cares that it left the air for a few minutes?!?! Nate, so happy to see yur passion in the hobby shine here. Great camera and editing Abby. Thanks guyz.
you are the one that made me buy one. I immediately had to replace the rudder servo and the steering servo is also bad. But when i get it back together I'm sure it will be great fun.
Hey man I've been watching your videos for a few weeks and I love how simple you keep it. I've been trying to get into the hobby for a while but just never have the money to get started. I've gotten ahold of a few planes and drones that I've trash picked and tried to get working but they never work right or at all. Hopefully I'm able to get something soon that will actually see some flights instead of a work bench lol. Thanks for the great videos
Death Valley Yea, Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me. Great flying and looking jet. Love the flaps. Great video.
Thank you so much!! Ironically I just stopped by your channel to see your newest little tank. Looks like fun! Wanna trade? Lol 😉 Shipping would kill us Both!!!
I liked how well the landing gear handled the crash impact! The flaps are a great feature! I liked the slo-mo footage with the sunset in the background!
This is a great EDF for beginners and the more experienced pilot alike! Only weak point is the front landing gear which bends rather easily. I have several videos of this plane on my channel.
WOW!! That was FABULOUS, CRASH and ALL!! Makes me wish I was a plane/jet person, just nowhere to fly. But AWESOME JOB, NATE!! ABBY, BEAUTIFUL VIDEO and sunset!! Thanks Saylors for making another great production!! 💟👍😘
Naif is so good to see you flying jets. I have five just love them. They're little fast lots of fun I have some that fly on 6 cell wait till you get into it the bigger Jets you'll just love it
One thing to remember is that the F-15 and F-16 were designed mainly as supersonic air superiority jets, and this jet seems to be designed as a sub-sonic aircraft, and thus the aerodynamics are very different, and that is why it flies so much nicer. As well, the elevator control surfaces of the F-15 and F-16 were not to scale...the real aircraft have what is called a "flying tail", in that the whole horizontal stabilizer moves rather than just a control surface on the trailing edge. I can only guess that the change was made in those RC aircraft for durability, as having a single pivot point would have made them a lot less durable.
Love the insight Farrell, thanks! I'm always learning something every day! No hate at all intended for my precious jets. In fact I LOVE those things ❤ I will be honest though, this thing is a bit more fun all around, besides scale beauty and ease of flight. Loving all my EDFs so far 👍⚓😃😎
@@TheRcSaylors I admit, I probably would have gone with the F-15 first as well. It, with the F-4 Phantom were two of my favourite jets while growing up, and I built models of them as a kid. In googling around about the E-Flite F-15, it turns out that the FMS F-15 is the exact same airframe...the E-Flite simply has much better electronics and a different paint scheme. That means there are lots of parts available for it. The Marlin, on the other hand, has a much more traditional control surface layout, and a rudder. A really freaky maneuver you should learn on it, since it has the control surfaces for it, it's called a "slide-slip"...I was watching the Reno STOL-Drag Air Races, and the side-slips they do are simply amazing. They allow the plane to lose a lot of speed quickly...in the STOL Drag races, the use both full flaps *and* side-slips to slow down their planes as fast as possible. Well worth taking a look to see some amazing flying!
New to your channel...I've been considering getting Into rc planes like I dont have enough hobbies...most of which are indoor but I've always loved flight!...these vids have been great and I depth and great research material...THANK YOU!
Awesome jet Nate! That’s some great flying!👍 And don’t feel bad as we’ve all had our crashes. But to see it survive, I couldn’t believe it. That jet is sick! You have me sold for my next jet for sure!!! It flys like a dream. I’m excited to get it. As always great job and thanks a lot!
I gotta send Dan at Hobby Zone a Thank You Card. This EDF and the ArrowsRC Viper really got me over my fear of jets/EDF’s. Not only are the Marlin and Viper easy to fly, but at their price points, you have that feeling- “If I crash, I’ll buy another one.” 5 months of flying with probably 100 flights on the baby viper and 50 on the Marlin made transitioning into 6s EDF’s fairly easy. I don’t have any other Trainer jets to compare the ArrowsRC Viper and Marlin to, but if anyone were to ask new to EDF’s I’d tell them- “Get the baby Viper, then the Marlin and after you’re comfortable with both you’re ready for 6s.”
Keep it up with these edf jets, as an rc enthusiast that has done almost everything in the past besides edf jets, these things are amazing! I hope you guys keep these vids up and work your way up to a 70-90mm size with retracts.....that would be great!
Hi guys just enjoyed wacthing your maiden flight..well done guys..and thank you so much for sharing..big wave from New Zealand..1000+ likes too your video...
What a spectacular jet, and Nate all of us that fly have made that same mistake, don't sweat it. Never the less, some great flying Nate! BTW, your link goes to a Spektrum DX6e radio not a Tactic. Once again another fabulous Saylors video, great camera work Abbey!
I just realised.. Nate's the "no expo guy" and when he was feeling the twitchiness of the Marlin said "we gotta set up some.." his brain stopped him from saying EXPO. LOL. I can't believe you fly with no expo.. even as a young person with good fine motor control, expo is your friend. :)
Think i found my first EDF I just started flying 3 seasons now i fly a lot of warbirds now. I want the SU-35 but know im not ready for that one yet. thanks man great video.
Did you purchase this jet based on our recommendations? Hobby Zone is sending out emails to people who purchased this jet about the screw locations. Couple of things I did during the build was to tape all the servo leads, they pull out easy when trying to snake all the wires through and bundle the 4 connectors going from the wing into the fuselage into one with some tape, makes it easier to push through that little hole, also do the same on the elevator Y connector and put a little glue on the left side of the rudder where the cut out is for the servo, seemed a little weak right there. Awesome flight Nate and Abby on camera was just Amazing, better give her a raise....
Beautiful jet !!! You did a great job of flying it . You had an unexpected landing , but you recovered beautifully. Abby , you did a great job of videoing that fast jet . Awesome slow motion fly by shots against a stunning sky ! 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏⚓⚓⚓😃
I just bought one but I won't use 100% rates because it has too much authority and I set the expo at 15%, I like to feel my plane as it flys too much expo to me at least feels real numb on the controls. Great little edf and love the fact it uses 2200 4s packs.
Wanted to invite you and Abby down to Atlanta for the Memorial service. The original ArrowsRC Viper was retired last week. 500+ flights and the nose has taken a beating. It’ll be placed in the hangar and just be on display. The Marlin died. A bouncy landing and then the decision to power up, make another attempt turned into a high powered crash breaking the front end off at the battery bay. Repairable, but I decided just to replace it. It felt like losing an old friend. It’ll be stripped of its servos, pushrods, receiver, motor, esc, etc. and buried at the end of the field. The 2 ArrowsRC EDF’s were great choices to get started with jets. The replacements for both are getting reinforcements in the nose and sidewalls of the battery bays. And the new Marlin is getting low bounce tires.
You two are very good at what you do! I have always enjoyed your videos. Great job! Thank you. P.S. you have me spending drug money on this hobby but I love it!
I'm ready to see you fly a actual RC jet. Maiden will have you quaking in your boots. I am building 1 and I am painting it with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ signs. Because that's all you see when you first fly it. LOL
Nice flying & honest review, as always. And an amazing durability test as well!! Glad you were able to fly right away after that nose dive!! It’ll be great if you can post your D/R & expo settings
Hi. I always enjoy watching your videos keep it up you two. Do you think you could show how to link your transmitter to the models you use as I’ve only bought rtf models so it would help a lot. Thanks, Dave.
Looking below the jet i was under the impression that it had retractable wheels ... i guess i was wrong :) Anyway , awesome plane and great video as always ! I'm so glad it survived the death valley crash !
Couldn't stop laughing when nate had to retrieve the plane and the music with it was epic! Nice jet nate! Remember stuff happens! Great camera shots abbey ! Awesome video guy's! Really digging the slow mo shots! 👍👍😎👽
Hey Nate, I watched you fly this jet, and the Viper, and Habu STS. You did a great job. Now, you need to step up to the E-Flight Havoc. I have the Habu STS, the Viper, and the Havoc. The Havoc looks like it doing 100mph sitting still. And the retracts on it are WAY better than the Vipers. 😁. Miss Abby, Great filming as always. When, and I did say when, not if, your flying skills catch up to your filming skills , look out😂
You guys always put a smile on my face!!! Love your videos!!! Both of you should check out the E-flite F16 70mm jet plane next! Just a suggestion KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK 👍🏼❤️🙏
You guys are great I have been watching u guys for a long time now I always wanted to fly even as a kid but never took the plunge which is ur #1 beginner plane I should take the plunge with and also is there a flight simulator app that u suggest to use keep up the good work u guys do it right and I thank u for that
Nate, how much aileron throw did you have in the maiden flight, seems like it was a little to much, for new pilots tone down your aileron throws and add 40 to 50 % expo, it well fly almost hands off.....
Ever knew you your number one no one's a good one that's that's was number one. Just number one that was a good one John says so you are number one keep on doing what you think you doing 😊👍
Holy snykies...talk about a flight envelope. I might want one of these. :/ That battery you were running was a 2200mah? What was the final voltage after the 4:45 or so you flew it?
Check out this cheap fast rc jet here: bit.ly/2mXI1j8

I really thought that Marlin was going to be in a couple of pieces. I'm glad it came out pretty much unscathed.
The slow-mo fly by with the clouds in the background at 4:30 looked incredible!

Fantastic cinematography Abby, so good with that lovely skyline
Thank you so much ❤👍⚓😎
Dude! You all are having so much fun with these jets. I can't believe it survived that crash. Awesome & 100% REAL.
After watching this video and ensuing crash. I immediately went and bought one from your link. My first ducted fan jet.
Very awesome Kay! You are going to have a blast with this thing 👍⚓😎🛩
Great flying Nate sweet looking jet!!!
Thanks!!

Cool jet for sure, but did you really look at that SUNSET!!!! So beautiful!!!
Death Valley

Great flying and looking jet. Love the flaps. Great video.
Beautiful Jet, beautiful landing and beautiful sunset! What more can I say
Wow... what an awesome edit guys. The beautiful shots, the B roles, the skill....the humour! I’m not even in to Jets, but it had me hooked! 😎👌

Looks like one awesome jet NATE , we all crash once in a while . Great flying , great video ....Keep them coming ...
No brainer for a first Edf. Great vid.
That my friend is a very cool plane. Glad top see you concurred the knife edge. Makes me want to get out n learn to fly.
Hi there RcSaylors, I've been watching several of your videos and really liking them so you just got another subscriber!!
I want one! Beautiful sunset!
Your videos are looking phenomenal lately. Very good. ❤
Thank you Very Much crimson!!
The sky at 12:30 amazing 👍
Awesome video guys

Awesome Jet! Incredible Death Valley recovery!
Had an absolute blast last night on your live stream!
Can you believe it survives Death Valley?!?!?

Time for you to come to the “dark side”. I am having a blast with Edfs!
Hi guys just enjoyed wacthing your maiden flight..well done guys..and thank you so much for sharing..big wave from New Zealand..1000+ likes too your video...
Yea, though I fly over the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no knife edge. Nice stick work, Nate. ...and I love the different music.
Thank you very much, nice 👍⚓😎

Dude your so lucky, your wife videos your flying. Doesn't complain about your planes.
Awesome vedio guys you were pumped up!!
So glad ur plane is ok guys
Nice work!!.. more slow passes.. that was epic
Thank you so much FPV!
Such a cool Vid. Love your humbleness Nate. You guys are awesome. Thank you!

I’m loving the EDFs
So are we!!
I'm ready to see you fly a actual RC jet. Maiden will have you quaking in your boots. I am building 1 and I am painting it with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ signs. Because that's all you see when you first fly it. LOL
What an amazing jet. Only if I was good at flying planes, I'd pick up one of those. Excellent video Nate & Abby 😊
Yep totally awesome! So much want one of these. Thanks so much guys for sharing your fun. Ten thumbs up.😁👍🇬🇧
This was a very awesome video. Keep up the good work.
Nice flying & honest review, as always. And an amazing durability test as well!! Glad you were able to fly right away after that nose dive!! It’ll be great if you can post your D/R & expo settings
No dual rates. No expo. 100% of everything we fly has no expo mixed in or dual rates. Thanks for tuning in! Happy Flying 👍⚓😎
Oh really!!?? That’s something, I guess you’ve got to be a really good pilot for that, but thanks
Just about to maiden mine tomorrow. Not sure of the throws for the flaps. Think I'll start mild. 30% for 1/2 and 60% for full and go from there.
Just ordered my second plane today comes in on Friday and I can’t wait 😊
Awesome!!!
Red sky at night.. Saylors Delight! Thank you Guys! 😀
Exactly right!
Hi. I always enjoy watching your videos keep it up you two. Do you think you could show how to link your transmitter to the models you use as I’ve only bought rtf models so it would help a lot. Thanks, Dave.
wow. OSM video. loved the skill and shots so cool
Looking below the jet i was under the impression that it had retractable wheels ... i guess i was wrong :) Anyway , awesome plane and great video as always ! I'm so glad it survived the death valley crash !
As I knife edge through the valley of death... Love ❤️ the video
Lololol
Thanks for the great review. You should do the F4U Corsair V2 Blue RTF, 800mm warbird next 🙂
Nice flight , You should hot glue some nerf whistles in the thrust tube , gives it that turbine sound did it to my 64 mm and it sounds amazing
Okay, that sounds like a blast!! Definitely going to give that a shot 👍⚓😎
Next jet recommendation, VIPER, comes with flaps and retracts........
Will it belly land, only long grass here in fr.
Hey awesome, I just got mine last week and haven't got it together and in the air yet! I look forward to this bird!
Couldn't stop laughing when nate had to retrieve the plane and the music with it was epic! Nice jet nate! Remember stuff happens! Great camera shots abbey ! Awesome video guy's! Really digging the slow mo shots! 👍👍😎👽
Waiting for it to come back in stock
That's just floating there in the very beginning intro but that's amazing 🔥🔥😍
Hey Nate, I watched you fly this jet, and the Viper, and Habu STS. You did a great job. Now, you need to step up to the E-Flight Havoc. I have the Habu STS, the Viper, and the Havoc. The Havoc looks like it doing 100mph sitting still. And the retracts on it are WAY better than the Vipers. 😁. Miss Abby, Great filming as always. When, and I did say when, not if, your flying skills catch up to your filming skills , look out😂
Another great video. The link for the transmitter goes to dx6e instead of the tactic 660
You guys always put a smile on my face!!! Love your videos!!! Both of you should check out the E-flite F16 70mm jet plane next! Just a suggestion KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK 👍🏼❤️🙏
So great - I had to have one.
It really is an awesome RC! Happy Flying 👍😎⚓
Resting voltage 3.78 volts per cell 😉👍⚓😎
Nate you can get a grate set of upgraded. Landing gear for your Arrows Marlin throw RC. Castle. A rally go set better then what came with it.
Arrows Marlin vs Eflite Habu STS, your opinion for a beginner pilot?
Need's a big "I Survived Death Valley" sticker. Another great video always a laugh.
Lol yeah thatd be an awesome sticker of honor!! 👍⚓😎
That is a great price for that unbelievable really and it's amazing how it come out the way it did after that crash man
