I am with LoriAnne regarding Shea Moisture Manuka Honey deep conditioner. It does not work for me either. Generally, my hair does not respond well to any of the Shea Moisture and in the day, I bought every new line, but nothing works, so I have not used any of their newer products ever
Tay that scarf is a look. Can you guys do the As I am coconut cowash vs the As I Am dry scalp cowash and the curls avocado mousse vs the eden bodyworks papaya castor foam?
Tayloranne is killin’ it in that scarf! I love that look! This video was great! I love that y’all give us so much diversity when it comes to choosing products. I appreciate all that you ladies do. 🥰
LoriAnne, I know you love Ouidad's Cleansing Oil, so I want to tell you about a shampoo I tried recently that reminded me of a cleansing oil: Eden's Bodyworks Peppermint Oil shampoo. It has peppermint, tea trea, and other awesome ingredients. It has slip before you even add water, and it feels like a thin, slippery oil in your hands, yet it lathers extremely well.
You ladies got me up late it’s 2 am and there is still about 10 minutes to go but I’m here for it...I love the this or that videos. LoriAnne you are not alone with that Sheamoisture Manuka deep condition I’m just not a fan of it, I think it’s too scented..
Silicone is good people...don't let anybody create that marketing fear in you. Silicone is in your makeup, body cream etc...so, please don't listen to fear mongers.
TA that headscarf is everything. May have to borrow that look for the summer humidity. Love This or That!!!! You guys had some tough choices. Keep up the great work!
Thank you ladies for doing such a great job at helping us sift through the immense amount of products and how they perform. I would love to see battle of the mousess and the best pairing of stylers and gel XXOO
The KCCC was my 1st hair gel/ custard when i started this journey. Then homemade fsg and for years Eco Styler gel. My hair is not the same i think because i barely experimented with other gels. Being tired of my hair not responding to any hair treament and after checking out that my health is optimal i decided to use organic or at least gels with natural ingredients. Used the UFD and im not fond of it (i live in Puerto Rico and the humidity here is insane). The Curl Maker's hold is not enough for my hair and finally i went back to my 1st love KCCC. Why didn't I give it a chance earlier? 😭 That stuff clumped my hair as if my hair was really healthy. I paired it with the KCKT. But today i tried it with another leave in and it worked. I used my beloved Mango Dip from Soultanicals!! 💖 There's no looking back. My hair is getting better; is not as thin anymore. Oh and thanks to you i knew about Honey's Handmade. Their gel Coconut Water Slip and Glide, gosh is amazing. The hold reminds me of my ex Eco. 😎 Bought some stuff from them and im loving it. #madcurlsmademedoit
So I think for the deep conditioners, my unscientific research is that the TGIN honey mask is better for medium and low porosity dense hair. Most of my friends with low porosity hair rave about TGIN honey mask. As a high porosity high density person, I like briego and miche deep conditioner way better than TGIN, I would rate briego a little better. However, I have about 3 other brands that I think I like better than those 3 products.
I’m trying to decide what I’m going to try next ... I luv,luv luv CR curlmaker, it gives me lots of moisture, lasting hold and gives my hair some weight. After watching all the great videos I’m thinking about trying the Lavender CurlMix or Deva curl stretch. My hair is low porosity and doesn’t like a lot of protein.
Yay, you answered my this or that. Hey, Tay & Lori! 👋🏾 I have the Jane carter nourish & shine & I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! But, my inner product junkie is telling me I NEED the Eden bodyworks papaya castor hair dressing 😏 *insert evil Kermit the frog meme 😂 I know I have a problem
Another great one ladies! These videos are helping me line up what products I plan to try over the next few months. LA, glad you get to enjoy the Honey's Handmade greens dc for longer than the collection limited edition timeframe.😊 TA, it's ok to have more than one fave dc 🙂 All of them are great (briogeo, miche & tgin) - sometimes, it depends on what your hair needs at the time.
The Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Deep Hydrating Hair Mask was the first holy grail product I used when I transitioned and did my first big chop. During the winter ❄️ I use the shampoo and conditioner as well. Now. I can use as a pre-poo now and throughout the warmer months when my hair feels a bit dry or after clarifying with the OGX Pomegranate Dextox shampoo which is great, but strips my hair clean.
💙 Oooh, a late night video! Perfect timing ladies! 👀It's 3am. I just got finished washing my hair, deep conditioning it, and styling my wash and go so I'll be sitting under this dryer for awhile. 🙋🏾♀️ I'm here for this video. #gel in a jar 💙
Wow you guys knocked the wind out of my chest with the first pair of products. That was a hard decision 😰😰😰😩 but I will ultimately pick Mixed Chicks too. Great video ladies ❤️
I know what you mean about shea moisture changing things all the time. My boyfriend and I are at a bit of a loss because it looks like they're discontinuing the dragon blood coffee cherry line. I was both of our favourites. Now we're looking at other brands. Not mad just kind of sad in a no more ice cream kind of way. That scarf though! Taylor, you make that scarf look so gorgeous!
You need to try CR curlaide with Cantu custard... omg! Curious to see if this works as good for you .... no flakes ... lots of moisture ... hold... awesome...
The con curl whip didn’t do so well as a wash n go for me. I use it for twists only, it’s not bad though. I’m 3b/3c with medium porosity. Love the Jc curls to go refresher spray omg. I’m slowly working my way to others I want try. Gotta go easy on the coins 😆
Thanks for another wonderful video, beauties! I love CR Almond Jai & always keep a backup of it. It has no coconut, protein, silicones, or glycerin, and aloe is near the bottom of the list (if anyone has sensitivities to any of these), and my hair loves almond oil. I keep Mixed Chicks Leave In to use from time to time because it gives great results but it does have some ingredients that I try to keep in moderation and then clarify afterwards so they don't build up. Protein alert on the Briogeo mask (it has keratin, collagen, silk, plus biotin), but you're definitely getting great results, Tay! Maybe your highlighted ends are a bit more porous than the new growth. I think the directions say to rinse it out after 10 or 15 mins, so 'heads up' (pardon the pun!) to anyone super protein-sensitive tempted by a longer prepoo. This or That MadCurls Video/Series (If I Had to Choose)... I love them all!!! xoxo
I tried the CurlMix gel with kinky curly leave in but it was a no-go, I’m thinking Curlmix gel is prob something that has to stay with it’s own line. Love these comparisons I was thinking of trying the Curlsmith co wash I’m glad I didn’t spend my coins. I will stick with As I am after I run out of the Camille Rose Creme Restore.
Ma! I love the “dry” look as well! I always say i wanna look like Mufasa! 🦁 I don’t think it’s negative either. As for the Curlsmith and Asiama Coconut Cowashes I also compared the too so I’m glad someone asked! I was a huge Asiam Cowash Gyal and boy did Curlsmith blow it out the BALLPARK! Blown away! Btw waiting for another Pogative- that is my FAVORITE series of yours
I see you Tay! Issa whole lewk, I’m lovin’ it! I’m loving both of your wash n gos. Lori, yours is super defined & Tay yours is so voluminous & bouncy. I love it. See you ladies on Tuesday ❤️
Have you tried Mixed Chicks leave in with their curling cream? Lori Anne may not like it because your hair will be super defined. I love it because I have difficult type 4 hair that does not like wash n gos.
I love the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil masque! 😍 I wasn’t crazy about the scent when I first started using it, but I don’t mind it so much now.
Just wanted to let you guys know that Sally's has a buy one get one free sale on several curly hair brands. I just stocked up on some As I Am coconut cowash
I saw that and had my cart already prepped. But I had been saving my purse for the online WNHS sales and because I spent so much, I'll catch the Sally's bogo next time.....(shakes my piggy bank to make sure - lol)
My most recent/ most reliable W&G is the SM JBCO leave-in & a flaxseed gel (you asked about mixing CurlMix gel with something outside the brand) When I do this I don't have to concern myself with how the weather outside is, I just KNOW it's gonna work for me. I've used both the CurlMix gel and the Nature's Little Secret flaxseed custard PS I absolutely cringe everytime I hear "jump out the window" for this or that Ugh 😣😣
Just starting watching you gurls, and i love y'all😁...you definitely have a new subie,i dont know my hair porosity, but im learning alot from watching videos from what i need.Iyour daughter,is beautiful, and so are you.🖤
Almond Jai Twisting Butter and Curlmaker gives the best wng every time for me. With all the products that we all use, I forget that I have Mixed Chicks; that was my very first curly hair product. So I pulled out my bottle of Mixed Chicks and read the ingredients (something I did not do back in the day) and discovered glycerin is the second ingredient and a silicon is the fourth. Boo hoo!! I like the Jane Carter Nourish and Shine too, but after I tried Alikay Botanicals Hair and Scalp Balm I have not been reaching for the Nourish and Shine. I like the Alikay better because you can massage this into your scalp as well as pulling it thru the hair. I do love the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Mask. I just did not buy it again after I finished my first jar, too many products in my stash to finish. Great video guys. How about Ouidad Low Poo Curl Immersion vs. DevaCurl No Poo.

I loved the old Shea Moisture JBCO leave in too! I honestly haven’t even looked their way since they changed the formula and I LOVED the Curl Enhancing Smoothie. They kinda lost me
I thought of a 'This or That' comparison, how about the Edenbodyworks almond marshmallow mask vs. 'Strengthen' from Miche. Yes, the Edenbodyworks mask has protein in it: Hydrolyzed Adansonia Digitata Seed Extract is essentially hydrolyzed Baobab protein.
Yay! You did one of my requests! My IG account is dra.reynoso. You pronounced my last correct :) Dra. is abbreviation of doctor in Spanish. Like Dr. R, but the ‘a’ is added since I’m a female doctor :)
Taylor can you recommend some products you've used with bouncecurl? I have a new bottle and tons of products to pair. I heard you say deva, but not the item. Thanks!
The Deva One Conditioner original & the Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie are my favorite products to pair with the bounce curl! Also the Maui Moisture curl smoothie!
I didn’t have a great experience with the Shea moisture Mafura oil deep conditioner. It left white beads in my hair and didn’t have enough slip for me. Idk but my hair didn’t like it!
Thanks for all details in this video and it’s great to hear from the both which works for you, loving your scarf Tay! And LA had me ROTF with gel in a jar 😅 you just keepin it real!!💛
I am with LoriAnne regarding Shea Moisture Manuka Honey deep conditioner. It does not work for me either. Generally, my hair does not respond well to any of the Shea Moisture and in the day, I bought every new line, but nothing works, so I have not used any of their newer products ever
So cute in the scarf Tay! 😍
Tay that scarf is a look. Can you guys do the As I am coconut cowash vs the As I Am dry scalp cowash and the curls avocado mousse vs the eden bodyworks papaya castor foam?
An hour long video at 11pm?! Sleep can wait
🤣🤣
I think porosity is more important than hair type. I have low porosity hair like TaylorAnne.
Ossie R I agree 100%
My curly stylist says the exact same - porosity is key in choosing products.
I agree wholeheartedly
Agreed
Tayloranne is killin’ it in that scarf! I love that look! This video was great! I love that y’all give us so much diversity when it comes to choosing products. I appreciate all that you ladies do. 🥰
An hour long video?! Let me get my salad and get comfortable so I can watch my favorite ladies. 💕
I love this series! This series, Pogative series, and treatment Tuesday series videos I really do enjoy. I do still enjoy your regular reviews. ❤️
I had a new shirt idea from Friday night live # Busted But Beautiful
Kinky Curly leave in and custard is EVERYTHING!!!
I think momma don’t like cheaper products!!! 🤣 But I love that African Price line. Especially the pre-shampoo and curl cream with flaxseed 🥰💖
Nourish & shine is definitely BEY! I'm with you Lori Ann!
Suggestion video: products that do not have coconut or glycerin in that one product. So combining the glycerin and coconut videos together.
I've been watching your channel all day. My son woke us up for a midnight break and here I am, again, watching your content! Thank you for posting
You ladies got me up late it’s 2 am and there is still about 10 minutes to go but I’m here for it...I love the this or that videos. LoriAnne you are not alone with that Sheamoisture Manuka deep condition I’m just not a fan of it, I think it’s too scented..
Perfect timing on a quiet Saturday night... boys gone to their step sisters sweet 16 party and now I’m here chilling with my girls! 🤗 lol
I think the Mixed Chicks Leave In has silicone in it so that is something else to take into consideration when people are trying to choose.
I could be wrong but I always think of cantu curl activator as a mixed chicks leave-in dupe. Silicone free too.

#gel in a jar! I tried the curly magic as a one and done today - very soft - not sure how many days it will last!

Loved the content ladies. The video was perfect timing for me. I'm up late chilling on a Saturday night. Have a good weekend.
"Throw it in boom" is right on Tay 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE 💕 YOUR MOM 😍 She's so loving and super funny!
Finished watching at 12:35 am. Great video with good information. See you on your next video.
Wow an hour long! I haven’t been able to watch you guys as often but I just wanted to let you guys know I still support you! 💞💗

Hey:) Would you consider trying the bowl method or homemade flaxseed gel to do your hair?
I agree with everything except the uncle funky daughter, this is my favorite!!!!
Coming in with the late night!!! Love it!!!
You really pumped it up tonight! :D Thanks for the HOUR long video!
Wow you guys knocked the wind out of my chest with the first pair of products. That was a hard decision 😰😰😰😩 but I will ultimately pick Mixed Chicks too. Great video ladies ❤️
Auntie Lori got me hooked on Nourish & shine.

I saw a jar of the As I Am cowash..and I believe it was a 32 oz jar. It was at Walmart Would have bought it if I didn’t still have plenty left.
I'm gonna try the JC nourish and shine now. I like that it has no humectants and I've been looking for humectant free hairdresses
Ma! I love the “dry” look as well! I always say i wanna look like Mufasa! 🦁 I don’t think it’s negative either. Mixed Chicks has always been tried and true to the same formula - “ if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”💁🏽♀️
I wore those busted uniforms from kindergarten all the way through my senior year in high school!!!! Uggggh, couldn't stand them 😂😂😂😂
Have you tried Mixed Chicks leave in with their curling cream? Lori Anne may not like it because your hair will be super defined. I love it because I have difficult type 4 hair that does not like wash n gos.
I love the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil masque! 😍 I wasn’t crazy about the scent when I first started using it, but I don’t mind it so much now.

Ohhhh you guys should do the uncle funkys daughter curly magic gel vs the wet line extreme clear gel!!! I love all y’all videos
Love watching your channel!!
LoriAnne is on 10! I love it!
Love the scarf Taylor Anne😍

You always put an instant smile🤩 on my face whenever I watch you lady's on the tube!🍀💖🙏 Thank you!!! 🥳😇✌
My hair did not like the eden almond leave in at alllllll! I am in love with eden though so ill try the new line soon.
Love it.....now i know what brands to cboose from
Thank you 💚💚💚
Wetliiiiine💦👍 Eco is too sensitive to other lines and it makes my hair hard...i think it had more protein than wetline.
Can you put up comparison pictures when you do the redo? I.e., cream of nature leave in and curl cream (please and thank you 😊)
I paired the curlmix gel with the jbco leave in
#GelInAJar
Thank you for answering my question. ❤ Wow, you really spoiled us with an hour video!
Replace the nozzle on the aloe & blueberry moisturizer
Love it. Keep doing this and that. Thanks Ladies
You should try the blue sport eco it’s amazing for a wash and go!

I see you Tay with that head wrap!!!! ♡♥
Does the mixed chicks leave in give u a cast? Love this video like usual!!!
Can yall try the As I am olive and tea tree oil cowash and maybe compare it to the Briogeo scalp revival shampoo?
Soultanicals rice butta shampoo or mega greens shampoo? I’d like to try one but there are many
You guys are so great. New here, thank you! 💜💜💜
I learned so many new products! Thank you
I love that scarf on you Tay
Flaxseed curly custard vs CurlMix flaxseed gel
I agree with LoriAnne, on her opinion on the shesmoisture manuka honey mask, I thought I was the only one who didn’t care for it😂
Absolutely helpful!!! Thank you for doing this 🌸🌸🌸. May I ask how thick is your hair (both)? Blessings ✨✨✨
#gelinajar 🤣 “call a thing a thing” 😆
I didn’t have a great experience with the Shea moisture Mafura oil deep conditioner. It left white beads in my hair and didn’t have enough slip for me. Idk but my hair didn’t like it!
Thanks for all details in this video and it’s great to hear from the both which works for you, loving your scarf Tay! And LA had me ROTF with gel in a jar 😅 you just keepin it real!!💛
Great series please continue this. Would you choose the Camille Rose Lavender deep Conditioner or Soultanicals afrotastic deep condtioner
Finally an interesting long video 😍
Hey ladiesss! 😍❤️❤️❤️
CurlMix is FIRE 🔥
#GelinAJar 🤣🤣🤣 agreed
Yes youtube was dry💞💖😘
A custard usually means a cream and gel mixture, LOL
#gelinajar I enjoyed❤
Getting some 70s vibes.
